EastEnders brings us a classic soap punch-up later this month, as Martin Fowler lashes out at his friend Kush Kazemi.

The strain of recent events will finally take its toll on Martin (James Bye), as he becomes increasingly determined to reunite his partner Stacey Branning with her baby son Arthur.

Seeing how much Martin is struggling, Kush (Davood Ghadami) persuades him to go out for the night to take his mind off everything. He then secretly leaves Martin's phone behind, despite the fact that Martin is anxiously waiting for a call from a mother and baby unit.

The night is soon cut short when Kush's drinking gets out of control, but upon returning home, Martin is furious to discover that the hospital rang while he was out and offered Stacey and Arthur a place.

To Kathy's relief, it transpires that Gavin isn't there for a reunion. Instead, he reveals that he has been on holiday with Sharon and now needs his former wife to do him a favour.

Unsurprisingly, Gavin's family trip with Sharon didn't quite go according to plan and he now needs Kathy to pass on a message to her. Hasn't he heard of texting?!

As the pair start to talk, Dot Branning arrives to play cards but quickly realises who Gavin is. Alarmed, Dot becomes protective and implores Kathy not to listen to him.

After Kathy shares some stern words, Gavin breaks down and begins to cry, much to Kathy's surprise. Although Dot refuses to be fooled by his Oscar-winning efforts, Kathy is eventually won over by his begging and agrees to speak to Sharon.

Kathy keeps her promise and speaks to Sharon, persuading her to stay in control and meet with Gavin.

Later, Gavin apologises for what happened and tells Sharon that he genuinely wants to be a good father. What will Sharon decide?

Ben wonders what to do following Abi's bombshell that she is pregnant. He tries turning to Paul for support, but they're interrupted by Whitney who makes Ben doubt whether Abi is really telling the truth about the baby. When Ben confronts Abi with his suspicious, she's furious and later shows him the positive pregnancy test to prove her story.

When Ben's family start to get involved and Phil doesn't show much support, Ben decides that he's going to be a better dad than Phil is. He tells Abi that his main focus will be her and the baby from now on, but Paul is gutted when he realises that Ben has rejected him again.

Meanwhile, after Martin takes Arthur and Lily to visit Stacey, Kush encourages him to go out for the night to take his mind off things. Martin wants to take his phone as he is awaiting a call from a mother and baby unit, but Kush secretly leaves the phone behind.

When Kush's drinking gets out of control, the night comes to a premature end as Martin has to take him home. Once they're back, Martin discovers Kush's stunt with the phone. This has now led to Stacey losing out on an available room at a mother and baby unit as Martin missed an important call. Furious, Martin punches Kush.

Elsewhere, Denise visits Lucas again after receiving some flowers from him. Once back home again, Denise tries to encourage Jordan to visit his dad in prison. Jordan refuses and later tells Patrick that he will visit after all - but only to tell Lucas to stay away. Patrick insists that he shouldn't go.

Also today, Honey and Kathy convince Pam to talk to Les.

Finally, Kathy is shocked when she finds Gavin waiting for her at home.

Tuesday

Kathy is terrified over Gavin's reappearance and threatens to call the police if he doesn't leave. Gavin surprises her by revealing that he went on holiday with Sharon, but now needs Kathy to pass on a message to her as it ended badly. When Dot turns up, she is frightened to realise who Gavin is and warns Kathy not to listen to him.

As Kathy continues to stand up to him, Gavin breaks down and starts to cry. Dot can see that it's all a clever act and leaves, but Gavin manages to win Kathy round by convincing her to talk to Sharon on his behalf.

Meanwhile, Pam and Les are on a date but the atmosphere is tense as Pam resists Les's efforts to win her back. Pam ultimately tells Les that she can't get the image of Christine out of her head, before storming out and telling him that it's definitely over between them. Babe witnesses the row and tries to comfort Les, but she realises that she is making a move on him and tells her to back off. Later, Les takes drastic action to get Pam back, but will his latest plan work?

Thursday

Sonia tries to make peace with Tina by suggesting that they should spend the afternoon together. Wanting to put her relationship first, she refuses to help Martin when he asks her to look after Arthur so he can go and visit a mother and baby unit in Bristol. However, Sonia does talk to Kush about recent events and Tina gets annoyed when she sees that he is spoiling their afternoon together.

Once Kush has gone, Tina tells Sonia that she is worried their relationship is falling apart. As Sonia tries to reassure her, Tina surprises her with a gift and they start to rebuild their connection. I think Kush is going to hire Bobby as a hitman to rub out Martin. It seems obvious to me.

Talking of Bobby Beale, I think it's about time a hit list was made for him to get rid of the driftwood in Albert Square. A while ago I would have had Martin Fowler as top of the list but now I have really come round to the character and the actor and he is actually one of my favourites (which astonishes me). But Babe - please please please - send her to Bobby's school for the night and let him do a Bobby special with an ornament to the head or something. Nothing can make me like Babe in any way, shape or form. I blame DR WHO!!

I like your idea of a hit list for Bobby Beale, Suze, but Babe should definitely NOT be on it in my opinion (and I also saw her in Doctor Who)! :D

Alfie would have formerly been top of my list, now I'd say it's Shirley (even though she's improved slightly since she saw Dean's true colours). Vincent in gangster mode would be up there too although I don't mind him as a family man. (I'm not including obvious villains like despicable Dean.) I agree Martin's a much improved character these days.

Perhaps when Bobby's older EE will be the first UK soap to have a hitman as a main character. :D

Jane would be top of my hit list for Bobby followed closely by Abi.

I also think James Bye is doing well as Martin. A little while ago I did criticise the fact that Martin didn't seem to fit in well and that he was like a completely new character not like the Marrtin who was born and brought up on the Square and knew all these people like Dot, Ian, Kathy, Sharon etc. intimately. It was never a criticism of James but the writing itself and I do think he has done and is doing really well. I have to say though, I still only see flashes of interaction that remind me he is the same Martin.

Ben Mitchell leaves Abi Branning heartbroken on EastEnders tonight (February 15) as he desperately tries to tell her that he doesn't want their baby.

Still reeling from Abi's shock pregnancy announcement, Ben (Harry Reid) hopes that he can somehow fix this mess and find a way to be with Paul Coker.

After looking into termination options, Ben meets up with Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) at a cafe and tells her that he isn't ready to be a father again.

An upset Abi can't believe what she's hearing as Ben makes his feelings clear, but tensions rise even further when he starts to doubt whether she's pregnant at all...

EastEnders airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
