Debbie, who is known for her role as Weatherfield's Anna Windass, has been tweeting praise for her daughter since her first scenes aired earlier this week.
Poppy made her soap debut in Monday night's episode when her character Sophie arrived in Walford with her friend Kyle, as he prepared to introduce himself to his half-sister Stacey Branning.
Sophie was later seen supporting Kyle following his encounter with Stacey, and Digital Spy can reveal that she will be back on screen for another appearance later this month.
Kyle, a transgender character played by trans actor Riley Carter Millington, has been appearing on EastEnders since October, but his identity has only been revealed this week.
Upcoming episodes will see him drawn into Stacey's problems as she turns to him amid her psychosis intensifying.
