Robron fans, I'm sorry, but I just don't get why you'd want those two together? Aaron has some serious issues he needs to deal with and Rob is just...a bit of a psycho.
Relationships should be the last thing on both their minds! I definitely think Aaron deserves a boyfriend at some point, someone who makes him truly happy, but that ain't Robert...

Robron have amazing chemistry & the actors work well together - is the main reason they make a lot of these other affairs look like dead wood by comparison.

While I agree Aaron will not be in the right head space of a relationship for a while this needs careful and slow build up and the relationship when it was an affair wasn't equal with Robert dominating things and at times manipulating things it would be interesting to see how it would be with a relationship in the open with them on equal footing with each other, it will change the dynamics. Robert's also been in denial about his sexuality which needs to be addressed really. Yes Robert has done some awful things trying to control people in his own way there was logic & he had his reasoning but at lot it was him panicking in situations with disastrous results the majority of it wasn't premeditated, the fact he loves Aaron always comes out clear.

From the spoilers out there that I've seen it seems Robert's going to step up and redeem himself in the support he'll give to Aaron when he needs it most.

While he has done some terrible things previously, since his shooting he's done some selfless acts for others redeeming himself a fair bit including covering for Andy when he could of sent him to prison showing despite everything he loves his brother, getting Aaron out of prison knowing he was innocent & supporting Diane in her illness too as well as testifying favourably for Chrissie showing he wanted to right some of his wrongs, he even let Ross get away with shooting him at least without resorting to bloodshed a sure sign he's learnt lessons from what he's done before.

I think now that the villagers know too she might feel a bit safer now to stay as she seems to have most of their support ... and of course it will provide an opportunity for good storylines about paternity, access etc :D

Gordon drops Chas off after their night together and asks her to consider him buying Diane's share of The Woolpack. Chas lies that she has a dentist appointment as an excuse to meet Gordon again, but it soon backfires when Aaron follows Paddy's car, thinking he is meeting Tess again.

Aaron is surprised when he sees his mother get out and decides to follow her, but there's an even bigger shock in store for Aaron…

Meanwhile, Kirin is not coping well with fatherhood and feels jealous of Adam's bond with Johnny. How will Adam feel when Kirin demands he stay away from his son?

Elsewhere, Leyla returns Rakesh's cheque and says that a wedding isn't the way to get Priya back. Priya is stunned when Rakesh admits that he kissed Chrissie. Will this be the end for the troubled couple, or will Priya reward Rakesh's honesty?

Also today, Robert asks Victoria to persuade Diane to sell her share of the pub to him. Victoria points out that he only wants to buy it to be closer to Aaron.

Aaron confronts Chas over Gordon and demands that she leaves him. Chas thinks she has talked him round, but Aaron secretly attempts to leave the village. However, he is stopped by Robert and soon collapses from sepsis. Robert realises he has been self-harming and has a bad infection.

As Chas and Gordon make their relationship known around the village, Aaron and Robert are at the hospital. While there, Aaron whispers something in Robert's ear, leaving him shocked and concerned. What is Aaron hiding?

Meanwhile, Rakesh admits that he would like to have Kirin by his side when he marries Priya, but Kirin ignores them both. Kirin later admits to Vanessa that it's time Rakesh faced the music, but Vanessa has other ideas and ruins Kirin's plan when the police turn up.

Elsewhere, Rhona and Paddy's adoption is back on track and Tess takes Marlon for coffee as she secretly tries to find out more about Paddy. But Paddy is left shocked when Marlon tells him that Tess asked him out.

Also today, Carly is not impressed when Tracy gets a hot date over her.

Finally, Nikhil's pursuit of Leyla is interrupted when Jacob turns up in the village.

Chas is worried when Doug says that Aaron didn't come home last night. Robert is also thrown when he sees Aaron's empty bed at the hospital and the nurse tells him that he hasn't been discharged.

Later at the pub, Robert looks for Aaron and is forced to cover to Chas, who is furious when Robert tells her that Aaron spent the night with him. Robert finally tracks Aaron down, but is shocked when Aaron reveals a secret from his past. Just what has Aaron been hiding?

Meanwhile, Kirin apologises to Adam for warning him away from Johnny and says that he should see him. Adam teaches Kirin how to feed Johnny, becoming heartbroken as he watches the pair together. Adam soon makes a heart-wrenching decision.

Elsewhere, Leyla wonders if she made the right decision about not dating Nikhil. Nikhil admits to Rishi that he faked the relationship, but now wants to be with Leyla for real. Leyla is thrilled to discover that Jacob is staying but covers her hurt when he says that he's got his old room back at Farrer's.

Also, Tracy begs Finn to open the B&B for her date with Duncan and he finally agrees. Duncan suggests that they sleep together but Tracy refuses.

Finally, Ashley tries to get into Mulberry and is embarrassed, snapping at Robert for reminding him that it isn't his house.

Gordon comforts Chas over Aaron's disappearance and she is horrified to think that he could have planned to run away with Robert. She accepts Gordon's offer to be a silent partner in the pub.

At the same time, Robert feels out of his depth as Aaron continues to confide in him. Robert urges Aaron to open up to his mum, but he refuses. Aaron is relieved when Robert agrees not to tell anyone, promising him that he's not alone.

Meanwhile, Laurel finds a novel way to deal with Ashley's condition and suggests they rent Mulberry while Debbie is away.

Elsewhere, Leyla is gutted that Jacob wants to live with David, but a supportive Nikhil offers some good advice and Leyla accepts an offer of a date with him.

Also, Tracy realises she's had a lucky escape when she clocks Duncan flirting with Carly.

Meanwhile, Kirin overhears Vanessa defending him to Leyla over fatherhood. Kirin decides to take Johnny for the full day tomorrow and books Vanessa into a spa, but soon realises that he has also agreed to meet with his main buyer. How is he going to manage it all?

Elsewhere, Carly is smug about her date with Duncan but soon finds out from Finn that he's married. Carly and Tracy unite, taking Duncan's van keys and steal the wine from the back. They're pleased with their plan to make money, but Finn reminds Carly that she's on a suspended sentence.

Not sure if anyone has posted/thought of this already (most likely) but does anyone else thing Aaron's big secret might be that his dad abused him?

Seems something big must tip him over the edge, something more than just disliking his father. For Robert to be shocked and in over his head I wonder...

either way be watching this with interest. Aaron is a brilliant character.

Emmerdale are going to keep the nature of the secret Aaron has embargoed until the episodes air on 19th & 21st January when he tells Robert hence why the spoilers and previews are not giving it away, but I suspect it is the type of abuse that has been speculated upon. (Hopefully it won't be officially spoilt by the likes of Soap Squawk this time)

I'm glad that Aaron/Danny Miller is getting a big story at long last & I'm sure he'll do it justice.

Emmerdale spoilers: SHOCK revelation for Robert Sugden as Aaron Livesy's self harming escalates

It’s an emotional week in the Dales as Aaron confesses a unbearable secret from his childhood to former love Robert

There are a lot of shocking revelations to be uncovered this week.

Tormented by the many demons that stalk his complex life, Emmerdale’s Aaron Livesy has resorted to self harming once again.

The mechanic first started to hurt himself in 2011 while grief-stricken over the death of his lover Jackson Walsh.

Then, following the reappearance of his estranged dad Gordon, Aaron found himself in an emotionally vulnerable state once again.

Now as his self harm escalates, the mechanic confides in his former flame Robert Sugden and receives some much-needed support as he reveals he’s hiding a big secret.

Furious to discover that Chas has been seeing her ex-husband on the sly , Aaron has begged his mum to end it.

Following their confrontation, Chas reckons she has talked her son round, but unbeknown to her, he makes plans to leave the village for good.

Just as he’s making his exit, he bumps into ex-love Robert and collapses from sepsis after his self harm wounds become infected.

While at the hospital, Robert is left reeling when Aaron whispers a shocking confession into his ear.

When Robert returns to the hospital the next stay, he is surprised to find that Aaron has discharged himself.

A worried Chas, who obviously noticed Aaron didn’t come home the previous night, was made even worse when Robert turns up looking for him.

But Robert covers for him by saying he spent the night with him – leaving Chas furious at the thought of them running away together.

Later, the pair finally have a heart to heart about Aaron’s shocking revelation, with Robert trying to persuade him to tell Chas.

But it seems the mechanic isn’t ready to spill the beans just yet. Instead Robert takes it upon himself to have a few words with Gordon later in the pub… what exactly did he confess?

Yes it must be bad so abuse could be likely

We've already established Gordon hit Aaron, I think he maybe sexually abused him as well, hence the sexual confusion and self loathing of being gay, if it is that Gordon is acting pretty normal for someone who's done that to his son, maybe that's why Sandra left him and he doesn't see his daughter.
It really isn't obvious in the earlier play outs of the story, there wasn't any hint of abuse when he used to be spoken of, it shows the different producers have very different ways of taking stories, we'll never know Gavin Blyth's path for it and Stuart Blackburn left, we don't know if they would've taken Gordon back in down the line or not, it's only Kate Oates' mind we know is behind this story arc, such a shame we'll never know the real intention due to I all being the creation of Gavin Blyth

Over on Emmerdale, Aaron Livesy will be left devastated when he realises that his mum Chas Dingle has betrayed him.

Chas has continued to date Aaron's father Gordon in secret after the troubled mechanic made his feelings about him clear last month.

Aware of Aaron's animosity towards Gordon, Chas lies about having a dentist appointment in order to meet him again, but her plan soon drastically backfires.

When Aaron (Danny Miller) follows Paddy's car - believing that he is seeing Tess - he is stunned when he spots Chas getting out of the vehicle instead.

After deciding to follow her, Aaron gets an even bigger shock when he realises that Chas has lied to him and is still seeing Gordon. How will he react?

Clearly Gordon is involved with something adverse which happened during Aaron's childhood. They both seem to share a very close personal secret. Aaron's latest behaviour around Gordon can only be described at times as being electric, it seems to me anyway. What really bothers me is that Aaron seems most upset when Chas gets near Gordon.

When it was announced in November 2015 that Gary Mavers was going to play Aaron's dad, Gordon Livesey, from December 2015, my very first impression was that he was going to have violent tendencies, maybe whilst sober maybe whilst drunk. We really haven't really seen a lot of Gordon since he came to Emmerdale and we still do not really know yet why Sandra left him with her daughter some years ago now. We have also not been told yet what Gordon has been doing for the last 5 years or so in his personal life.

We have all lately seen how Emmerdale has tried to explore every kind of human relationship in televised scenes beginning from early December 2015. These include:

Married Zak having a found-out affair with Joanie;
Married Paddy having a secret affair with married Tess;
Tracy and Carly soon having offers of dates with married Duncan (who might even be just someone worth pursuing for his money and unhappy marriage? But are Tracy and Carly that smart? [TW: In Emmerdale? Like, c'mon, no... haha!]);
Cain and Moira having their relationship threatened by Pete and (very soon, it seems!) Charity;
Rakesh and Priya being split over Kirin's baby, with Rakesh seeming to be targetting Chrissie for his next girl;
Nikhil just seeming to have dropped Canadian Tanya for an affair, it seems for now anyway, with local girl Leyla;
Ashley getting back with lovely Laurel ("hic"!!!);
Ross being dumped by Debbie and him left holding Charity's baby for now (the words millstone, numpty and drowning man and many other words come to my mind right now, haha!);
Bob and Harriet seeming to be very flirty and friendly lately?
Gordon and Chas = ex-husband and wife. Well, Chas does really seem to have a long history of "picking 'em", so what's new on this? Time will tell! (TW: Best of luck though, Chas, I really think you're going to need it...!)

What I really wonder about is whether Aaron just observed something really bad, maybe happening to Sandra, with Gordon being a violent wife-beating guy and nothing beyond this? Maybe Gordon threatened or even beat Aaron within an inch of his life (even hospitalised?) to not tell about what Aaron had seen in the Livesey family home? There may, of course, have been much more personal contact between Gordon and Sandra and Gordon and Aaron?

We should all remember that the forthcoming Emmerdale scenes about what seem to clearly connect Gordon and Aaron during Aaron's childhood are to be televised on ITV from 7pm on weekdays. I really do not think but hope for now that these scenes are going to be anything other than talked-about domestic physical violence between husband, wife and son.

If I was the Emmerdale storyliner for what is yet to come, I would make Aaron the noble character who takes the steps necessary to save people like Sandra and Chas from any further harm, for Robert to back up Aaron on this mission of Aaron's and for something (at long last...) positive come into Aaron's life. We all love to love a hero, just as we all love to hate a baddie, after all!

If I was the Emmerdale storyliner for what is yet to come, I would make Aaron the noble character who takes the steps necessary to save people like Sandra and Chas from any further harm, for Robert to back up Aaron on this mission of Aaron's and for something (at long last...) positive come into Aaron's life. We all love to love a hero, just as we all love to hate a baddie, after all!

Clearly Gordon is involved with something adverse which happened during Aaron's childhood. They both seem to share a very close personal secret. Aaron's latest behaviour around Gordon can only be described at times as being electric, it seems to me anyway. What really bothers me is that Aaron seems most upset when Chas gets near Gordon.

When it was announced in November 2015 that Gary Mavers was going to play Aaron's dad, Gordon Livesey, from December 2015, my very first impression was that he was going to have violent tendencies, maybe whilst sober maybe whilst drunk. We really haven't really seen a lot of Gordon since he came to Emmerdale and we still do not really know yet why Sandra left him with her daughter some years ago now. We have also not been told yet what Gordon has been doing for the last 5 years or so in his personal life.

We have all lately seen how Emmerdale has tried to explore every kind of human relationship in televised scenes beginning from early December 2015. These include:

Married Zak having a found-out affair with Joanie;
Married Paddy having a secret affair with married Tess;
Tracy and Carly soon having offers of dates with married Duncan (who might even be just someone worth pursuing for his money and unhappy marriage? But are Tracy and Carly that smart? [TW: In Emmerdale? Like, c'mon, no... haha!]);
Cain and Moira having their relationship threatened by Pete and (very soon, it seems!) Charity;
Rakesh and Priya being split over Kirin's baby, with Rakesh seeming to be targetting Chrissie for his next girl;
Nikhil just seeming to have dropped Canadian Tanya for an affair, it seems for now anyway, with local girl Leyla;
Ashley getting back with lovely Laurel (\"hic\"!!!);
Ross being dumped by Debbie and him left holding Charity's baby for now (the words millstone, numpty and drowning man and many other words come to my mind right now, haha!);
Bob and Harriet seeming to be very flirty and friendly lately?
Gordon and Chas = ex-husband and wife. Well, Chas does really seem to have a long history of \"picking 'em\", so what's new on this? Time will tell! (TW: Best of luck though, Chas, I really think you're going to need it...!)

There has been a lot of speculation recently in various public discussion forums about Aaron's dark secret from his childhood. What I really wonder about is whether Aaron just observed something really bad, maybe happening to Sandra, with Gordon being a violent wife-beating guy and nothing beyond this? Maybe Gordon threatened or even beat Aaron within an inch of his life (even hospitalised?) to not tell about what Aaron had seen in the Livesey family home? There may, of course, have been much more personal contact between Gordon and Sandra and Gordon and Aaron?

We should all remember that the forthcoming Emmerdale scenes about what seem to clearly connect Gordon and Aaron during Aaron's childhood are to be televised on ITV from 7pm on weekdays. I really do not think but hope for now that these scenes are going to be anything other than talked-about domestic physical violence between husband, wife and son.

Robert Sugden finally gets answers in emotional Emmerdale scenes tonight (January 21) as Aaron Livesy shares details of his past.

Aaron's latest downward spiral has left Robert (Ryan Hawley) deeply concerned for his wellbeing and determined to find out what is wrong.

As a new day dawns in the village, Robert's worries escalate when he finds that Aaron (Danny Miller) has done a disappearing act at the hospital without being officially discharged.

Once Robert finally tracks him down, Aaron reaches breaking point and reveals a shocking secret that he's been hiding for years. And it's one that will have huge repercussions for a number of characters...

Emmerdale's Robert Sugden has a big decision to make tonight (January 22) as he remains in shock following Aaron Livesy's devastating revelation.

The ITV soap aired emotional scenes last night as Robert (Ryan Hawley) was stunned to learn that Aaron was sexually abused by his father Gordon from the age of 8.

Determined to support Aaron in any way he can, Robert once again advises him to confide in his mum Chas about his past ordeal. When Aaron refuses, Robert knows that he has to respect his decision by keeping the secret to himself.

Later, though, Robert is sickened to see Gordon celebrating with Chas at The Woolpack following his choice to buy into the business. When they get a moment alone, will Robert confront Gordon or keep quiet?
