Evidence suggests that the new actor playing Gabby Thomas from early January 2016 is Rosie Bentham, 14yo, from Nottingham.

The new Gabby is better looking and looks more mature. I am guessing the new Gabby might be a love interest for Lachlan. The previous Gabby she just looked too young and the actress was not that good. All she was good at was looking moppy and sad. Good decision by the Emmerdale staff.

I`m guessing the new Gabby will end up pregnant in 2016. It could be why the current actress playing Gabby is being replaced by someone older. Corrie did the very same thing in replacing an older actress to play Sarah when Sarah Platt became pregnant in 2000.
It`s a shame about Gabby leaving though. No one did the death stare quite like Gabby Thomas.

That is what I liked about the old Gabby .... She had that look and played the spoilt brat to perfection .. better than the one playing Amy in Corrie in my opinion

The latest issue of TV Times confirms the cast list for Emmerdale for 4th-8th January 2016 and actor Rosie Bentham is listed in it as playing Gabby Thomas then.

No soap operas do this they get a new actor when a character ages or goes in a new direction. This is showbiz the previous Gabby was lucky she had a job for a long time. But the writers and producers clearly wanted a more mature Gabby.

Well a magazine has been hinting there is a pregnancy storyline coming up... didn't say which character though.

Lachlan could try and rape Gabby, he is a sex offender from what he did to Alicia and stalked another classmate before moving there
Emmerdale viewers received a bit of a shock tonight (January 4) when a brand new actress took up the role of Ashley's daughter Gabby.
The new Gabby - played by Rosie Bentham - made a surprise appearance in Monday's episode, with a sly reference to the switch when Laurel Dingle griped that the teen wore too much makeup.
In reality, it was a new actress taking up the role of Gabby for the first time. Previously, the character had been played by Annelise Manojlovic.

Gabby Thomas is a long-term character in the soap, having made her first appearance as a baby on Christmas Day in 2001.
The recasting was not announced ahead of time, and thus had Gabby trending on Twitter among shocked fans.

Jacob is over the moon when Gabby agrees to go on a date with him and things are going swimmingly – until she drops a bombshell about who it was who stole Val’s ring.
Stunned, Jacob relays to David what Gabby and Lachlan did, leaving him furious. He confronts Chrissie and warns him that he will be taking it further.
Fuming over Gabby’s latest behaviour, Ashley tells Bernice he wants her to live with him.

Emmerdale teen Gabby Thomas could live to regret her mischievous actions when she is finally caught out for stealing Val Pollard's ring next week.
Gabby will become a huge cause of concern for her parents as she continues to wreak havoc in the village, but they are unaware that the worst is still yet to come.
As Gabby's rebellious behaviour starts to get out of hand, Ashley despairs that his daughter has turned into a prima donna since moving into Home Farm and is determined to tackle it head on.
After chatting with Bernice, the vicar decides to go easy on the teenager for now, agreeing that she has been through a lot, but he hopes that there are no more surprises in store.
Sadly, it looks like Ashley is heading for serious disappointment as Gabby reveals to a horrified Jacob that she was responsible for the break-in at the barn last year.
Ashley has no more surprises in store, leaving him and Laurel uneasy about the pregnancy news.
After Jacob reports the news back, a horrified David confronts Chrissie and Bernice and vows to take it further.

The latest turn of events is also the final straw for Ashley, who tells Bernice that he wants her to live with him.
However, Ashley soon finds an ally in Lawrence as they bond over Gabby's future, prompting Ashley to come up with an idea - Lawrence should adopt Gabby! Will he agree and how will Gabby react if he does?

Relations between the Thomas family reach an all-time low in Emmerdale next week as Gabby hatches a cruel plan against her unwell father Ashley.
Gabby (Rosie Bentham) decides to take action after Ashley reports her to the police for committing a robbery.
Dramatic scenes coming up will see Gabby force her way into Keeper's Cottage as she attempts to steal one of Victoria Sugden's dresses.
All hell breaks loose when Victoria stumbles across the intruder and is terrified, but the most surprising reaction comes from Ashley (John Middleton) when he finds out and decides to turn his wayward daughter in.
Gabby can't believe that Ashley has left her at the mercy of the police, but when the time comes for her to speak to the officers, she becomes tearful and declares that she needs to tell them something else entirely.
Not long afterwards, the tables turn on Ashley as the police turn up to see him and demand that he comes down to the station.
Emmerdale bosses are keeping tight-lipped about exactly what Gabby has done, but it's sure to make the situation at home ten times worse.
In the aftermath, Ashley reluctantly admits that he shouldn't have gone to the police after all - but he refuses to apologise to Gabby and she's determined not to back down either.
When Gabby tells her dad that she wishes he would drop dead, Ashley retaliates by claiming that he wishes she'd never been born. With the tragic reality of Ashley's dementia hanging in the air, is there any way that these two will get back on track?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, August 1 and Tuesday, August 2 at 7pm on ITV.

Gabby Thomas has made a big decision in Emmerdale as she continues to try and cope in the wake of her father Ashley’s death – Bernice is going to take her to stay in Australia for a bit. But for those worrying that this is the end of Gabby’s story, fear not – Rosie Bentham is just taking a break from the role to sit her GCSE exams.
The talented young actress has been moving viewers for some time during the highly emotive storyline and everyone breathed a sigh of relief when she found the strength to build bridges with her upset mum Bernice over the fact that she didn’t get to say a proper goodbye to Ashley.
With everything being overwhelming at the moment, Gabby has told Laurel that she wants to spend time away for a while but has insisted that she will come home and, although Laurel will miss her, she has accepted that this could be just what Gabby needs to help her recover from recent events.
However, as Arthur listened in to Laurel and Doug talking about it, will he be left upset by the thought of his sister going?
Before Gabby goes, she will seek to reassure her brother that Bernice’s youngest daughter Dee Dee won’t ever take his place even though she will be spending some time with her in Australia but will this be enough for Arthur to be okay with her going?
Rosie will return to the role later this year as will Isobel Steele, who has also taken time off as Liv Flaherty for exams.

Emmerdale star Rosie Bentham has revealed what's in store for Gabby Thomas following her decision to take a break from the village.
Gabby has been going through a tough spell lately following her split from Nicky Milligan, with the character recently realising she harboured feelings for Billy Fletcher.
She found herself in an awkward situation after an attempt to kiss Billy ? who is married to Dawn ? ended miserably, and Gabby will attempt to get her life back on track next week by going on holiday to Portugal.
In an interview with Inside Soap, Bentham teased details about the aftermath of Gabby's decision, confirming that the next few months would be "chaotic" for her.
"Hopefully she'll come back with a different head on with regards to the Nicky situation, but he needs to get through this mad phase, as this is definitely Gabby's wild era," she began.
?Obviously, there's the anniversary of Liv Dingle's death on the horizon, and that's difficult for Gabby, as Liv was her best mate. Gabby has a lot on her plate and the next few months are chaotic."
Whilst Bentham hopes that Gabby comes back from her break with a clearer mind, she also reflected on her character's attempted kiss with Billy, revealing that Gabby would later rue her actions.
"It was a moment of madness that she comes to regret. She's completely lost; I just picture Gabby waking up in the morning and feeling like her life is chaos," she said.
"She's seeking validation from any man and it reaches the point where she decides to leave for a break in Portugal; she needs to reset. I feel really sorry for [her] ? heartbreak can be long and tedious but she knows that she needs to get it all out. The tears need to come."
