There is a rumour going around social media right now that Ashley's daughter, Gabby Thomas, is going to be "replaced" by another actor around Jan 7th 2016. This I find very hard to believe. Gabby Thomas (actor Annelise Manojlivic) has been on Emmerdale since her real and character birth in 2001 (so 14yo now). Maybe Annelise leaves Emmerdale in Jan 2016 to concentrate on real school studies and one of Ashleys' young daughter-like relations comes to act in Emmerdale? I really don't think that Hotton General has any kind of successful head-replacement surgical technology just yet! So, maybe not so much a character replacement as a character addition to Emmerdale? Time will tell!

Hahah, A comment on her looks is abit harsh. But I would agree with you if you were to say that she isn’t a very convincing actress, LOL. But if they replace her, they replace her. Aaron is so angry when he finds out Chas has seen Gordon that he punches a door. Chas flinches and, shocked by his own fiery rage, Aaron leaves. Chas later tells Aaron they can forget about Gordon. But he shuts himself away and stares at his penknife, clearly thinking of hurting himself. The next day, he does. It's Aaron's birthday [5th Jan] and he can't stand the fuss. When he thinks he's alone, he holds his hand over the burning candles on his cake - but Cain catches him. Aaron tells Cain he's stressed because of Gordon, then later lies to Cain, telling him he's spoken to his counsellor. Meanwhile, Chas has met with Gordon again, to return the card he gave her for Aaron and to tell him it would be better if he stayed away from her and Aaron. But Gordon shocks Chas by telling her he wants another chance with her. Just what is it Aaron has against his recently returned dad?

Later, Emma goes to see Ross and pushes him to lay claim to his son. Will Moira be forced to hand Moses over to Ross?

Meanwhile, Aaron is annoyed when he finds out that Chas has seen Gordon and Chas flinches as he punches the door. Later, Chas tells Aaron they can forget about Gordon, but it's clear that Aaron is struggling. In his bedroom, Aaron closes the door and exposes a fresh wound. He begins to eye his penknife, clearly intent on self-harming.

Elsewhere, Vanessa uses a DNA testing kit to take a swab of Adam's bottle top.

Also today, Laurel sees Ashley looking at care homes and he's annoyed that she doesn't see the situation from his point of view.

It's Aaron's birthday, but he's hating all the attention. When Aaron thinks he's alone, Cain catches him trying to burn himself. He plays down what Cain saw, telling him that he's stressed due to Gordon hanging around. Can he convince Cain not to say anything to Chas?

Later, Chas meets Gordon in a pub and gives him back the birthday card. She tells him that Aaron's feelings come before theirs. However, Chas is still left conflicted when Gordon says he wants another chance with her.

Meanwhile, Sandy and Harriet find the leaflet for the care home and assume it's for Sandy. Soon afterwards, Laurel becomes overwhelmed while visiting the home and breaks down at the reality of Ashley's future. They return to the house only to be confronted by Harriet and Sandy about the care home leaflet. Is Sandy's world about to collapse around him, or will Ashley keep his secret?

Rhona is pleased to hear that Vanessa thinks moving in is the right thing to do and she's not worrying about the DNA results.

Later, though, Vanessa returns home and opens her post. There's shocking news as it's finally revealed that Adam isn't the dad...

Meanwhile, Sandy is clearly struggling with Ashley's news and becomes unsteady on his feet. Sandy refuses to let Ashley take him to the hospital and tells Doug to take him instead. At the hospital, Sandy tries to hide from Doug but they soon unite in their worry for their children. Later, Ashley has more heartbreaking news for Sandy…

Elsewhere, there's a tense atmosphere between Moira and Cain as he sets off from Butlers, but there's a clear attraction between her and Pete as she tells him she's glad he's there.

Also today, Aaron lies to Cain and says he has called his counsellor. Cain is also happy to get a text from Debbie and tells Dan he can have his job back.

Finally, Leyla is overwhelmed by the tax return she has to do but refuses Nikhil's offer of help, while Paddy is drawn to Tess once again.

Vanessa is confused when the DNA lab makes it clear that the original test result also ruled Adam out as the father. She wonders how she can break the news to all parties involved.

Later, Adam and Victoria are excitedly preparing for Johnny and Vanessa moving in with them for a while. Before long, though, Vanessa broaches the subject with Adam. How will he take the news?

Later, Moira is left reeling when Vanessa arrives and tells her that Adam is not the father. Kirin is also soon shocked to hear the news. A worried Rakesh looks to Priya in panic. How long before their meddling is exposed?

Elsewhere, Jai tries to charm Leyla into seeing him again, but some swift thinking from Leyla puts him off completely.

Victoria is frustrated by Adam's actions. Can she get through to him that the ramifications could be serious? Moira is also fraught with worry about Adam.

At the same time, Priya urges Rakesh to tell Kirin before it gets any worse and reiterates her threat to leave him if he doesn't. Will Rakesh seize the moment and finally tell his son the truth?

Meanwhile, Lisa is teaching Belle how to drive. Later, Zak is left thoughtful over the idea that he should pay for Belle to have driving lessons as a way of showing her how much he cares.

Elsewhere, Ashley explains that he only broke up with Harriet because of his dementia. The pair later have a platonic hug as Harriet makes an admission.

Also today, Rishi questions an evasive Nikhil about his relationship, while Nikhil hopes he can date her for real.

Finally, Ross is desperate to have his job back, but will Cain agree?

Emmerdale's Ross Barton will be thrown in the deep end next month when he gets full-time access to his baby son Moses.

Ross's turmoil will continue after his girlfriend Debbie Dingle leaves the village with her children Sarah and Jack, leaving Moses behind.

After Moira takes over Moses's care, a determined Emma does her best to encourage Ross (Michael Parr) to lay claim to his son.

However, when Moira is eventually forced to hand Moses over, it quickly becomes clear that Ross is out of his depth with him.​

As he continues to struggle, Ross tries to palm Moses off with someone else, having realised that fatherhood is no stroll in the park.

I agree. It's unfortunate that this is the way it works in soapland. I remember hearing about the original Nick Tilsley, who thought he was having a few months off from Coronation Street due to his GCSE's, only to be replaced by a "hunk" in his absence.

Yes, there does seem to be a new actor playing the part of Gabby, as from 7th Jan.

No details are available yet as to who this new actor is or why Gabby seems to have been recast. Gabby Thomas has been played by actor Annelise Manojlivic on Emmerdale since her real and character birth in 2001 (so both 14yo now).

Maybe Annelise has school demands now or another acting role, or the part of Gabby now needs to be played by someone else to cope with the demanding Ashley dementia storyline?

Just why do we TV viewers have to put up with this Ross/Aaron warehouse cheapo rewards stroryline right now? Debbie has her own business. Aaron has just been offered the biggest gift of his life from his own father - possession of half of The Woolpack? Look, Aaron, take your father's gift, YOU NUMPTY. What mugs we are to watch this Emmerdale rubbish right now.

Ross should be very sorry? For wanting to look after his son? Yes he has done some unforgivable things but who cares, its a soap it doesn't need justification. Ross is a villain and the fact you talk about him/hate him so much means the actor is doing his job right. All this analysis of characters like Ross is embarrassing, why dont you just enjoy the drama or stop watching? Also why would Ross have to be a family man? - With Debbie gone and Moira caring for Moses, Ross demands his aunt hand his son over so he can take care of him. [TW: Haha!...Ross is such a plonker.. He should be very sorry...real soon....Ross really does not in any way come across as any kind of family guy right now, seems to me anyway!].

Just why do we TV viewers have to put up with this Ross/Aaron warehouse cheapo rewards stroryline right now? Debbie has her own business. Aaron has just been offered the biggest gift of his life from his own father - possession of half of The Woolpack? Look, Aaron, take your father's gift, YOU NUMPTY. What mugs we are to watch this Emmerdale rubbish right now.

Ross should be very sorry? For wanting to look after his son? Yes he has done some unforgivable things but who cares, its a soap it doesn't need justification. Ross is a villain and the fact you talk about him/hate him so much means the actor is doing his job right. All this analysis of characters like Ross is embarrassing, why dont you just enjoy the drama or stop watching? Also why would Ross have to be a family man? He has Emma,James,Finn.Pete,.Moira etc... who would all be willing to looking after Moses. If Emmerdale made Ross a perfect family man out of nowhere it would be totally unbelievable.

Adumb is really not going to become any more tolerable for me. Why does it look like he is having a go at Vanessa? He should be blaming Rakesh. Vanessa didn't want him to be the father so it wasn't as though she told him he was to hurt him or to make life easier for herself. Parr is good at making a scowl on his face but his acting is poor in the dramatic scenes he does not emote well. Ryan Hawley is also able to be vulnerable with his acting despite his bad deeds you cannot stop loving his character.

They might be similar but I think Ross should be with someone closer in age. Donna and Debbie whilst are different in regards to characters, they both matched a different side to Ross. When Debbie is back I do think she and Ross should get back together.

You're right about about the age thing but I still don't see a spark between him and Debbie. I think Ross will always have a villainous side no matter what, and even though Debbie seems to like "bad boys" she's different to Donna. I do think Donna loved Ross but she was dying and knew it would never be long term.

That said though, Dross will inevitably get back together as it's what the producers want...unless the new boss has different ideas.

I have to say that tonight it has reminded me why Michael Parr has drawn me into this show.

His performance on new years eve was amazing. The last scene he shared with Charley Webb had a real punch to it and one of the best I've seen him yet do.

Tonight though, with his scene with Gillian, his way of playing the cast-down Ross was perfect. The writer's seem to throw a lot of emotions and characteristics that he has to portray and I'm never crining.

I'm sure I posted this before here, "Michael Parr displays fine acting as Justin, and brings a much needed lift to scenes that sometimes dip."

He has a quality that really does just make you keep your eyes focused on him. I really can't wait for the progression of the Moses storyline, I'm sure Michael will be able to subtly show Ross becoming more and more attached to his son.

Emmerdale's Victoria Sugden finds herself in an impossible position tonight (January 8) as her husband Adam Barton continues to desperately cling onto baby Johnny.

As the couple hide out in a B&B alongside Johnny, Adam (Adam Thomas) is making grand plans for the future - unable to accept the devastating bombshell that he isn't the youngster's father.

At first Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) plays along with Adam's delusions, but in reality she knows that it's only a matter of time before Johnny's worried mum Vanessa Woodfield loses her patience.

In the end, Victoria tries to get through to Adam before it's too late - but will he be prepared to listen?

Yes, there was a brief sentence spoiler I read somewhere earlier this week (in the new soap mags?) about Adam leaving with Johnny (for around Friday's episode?) but I didn't get the time to post it here. I was going to suggest it meant abduction/kidnapping though.

This storyline was kept very secret. Adam Thomas gave an interview to Inside Soap last week and said "However, once the news sinks in [he isn't Johnny's dad], he does something very silly..." (Inside Soap, 28 January 2016).

I did think last night when watching the episode that normally sensible Victoria was going to phone Vanessa to say Adam's car had broken down and they had to stay overnight in a B&B with the baby. But Victoria blew everything wide open instead for the big drama and told Vanessa by phone that "Adam just...he needs some time". I did suggest a while back that Paddy should check everyone in the village for BSE though. Busy Paddy obviously hasn't but has been otherwise engaged with more pressing matters...like :love:? haha!

Last night's scenes at the roadside B&B were totally unbelievable for me really. An Internet check I did today said Adam is now 23yo with Vic being 21yo. Emmerdale has just not made any real sense to me as a TV viewer for at least the last 4 months or more about how its regular characters have been treated.
