New Coronation Street boss Kate Oates is reportedly planning to bring back a host of old faces to the cobbles. The incoming executive producer has her sights set on seeing the likes of Helen Flanagan, Georgia Taylor and Keith Duffy back in Weatherfield.

Helen, who’s famous for her role as Rosie Webster, hasn’t been seen on the street for a couple of years but Kate reportedly has plenty of ideas to bring her back.

The same can be said for Georgia’s alter ego toyah Battersby and Boyzone Keith’s character Ciaran.

A source told the Sun: “Kate was going on about how excited she was to join the cast and crew in January and saying she couldn’t wait to get her teeth into the show. “She loved the idea of bringing Toyah back and said there would be endless opportunities for the character to be exploited after being away for so long.

“The same went for Rosie. She said again there would be loads of terrific storylines. All three are well-loved characters and getting any of them back would be hugely popular with Corrie fans

Could one thing be her comic timing? I can't think what the other could be... http://www.picgifs.com/smileys/smileys-and-emoticons/wink/smileys-wink-226524.gif (http://www.picgifs.com/smileys/)

Seriously though, I'd like to see Rosie back because she made me laugh. She works as long as she's not given any serious storylines.

I think lots of fans would like to see Toyah back. I don't like Ciaran much, although perhaps he and Michelle could get together and free up Steve for someone with whom he has some chemistry.

"No discussions have been had about her plans for the show."

Coronation Street has denied that new boss Kate Oates is planning to bring back three former characters when she starts working on the show next year.

As previously announced, the Emmerdale boss will take charge of the Weatherfield soap when Stuart Blackburn vacates the post.

Reports circulating today have suggested that Oates is planning to reintroduce a number of old favourites including Helen Flanagan, Georgia Taylor and Keith Duffy when she comes on board.

Flanagan played Rosie Webster for 12 years before exiting in 2012, while Taylor played troubled Toyah Battersby until 2003.

The stories also suggested that Oates was a big fan of Boyzone star Duffy, who bowed out of his role as Ciaran McCarthy 10 years ago but made a brief return between 2010 and 2011.

However, Coronation Street has insisted that no discussions have taken place as of yet, stating that Oates is still producing Emmerdale and won't be working on Coronation Street until March 2016.

A spokesperson for the show told Digital Spy: "Kate Oates does not start at Coronation Street until March next year and is currently still producing Emmerdale. No discussions have been had about her plans for the show and any reports are pure speculation."
