Coming up on EastEnders, Aunt Babe decides to kick off the Christmas festivities at The Vic with an interesting surprise for the Carters.

Following the dramatic events of their previous Christmas, the Carters are determined to make this year more special than ever.

Viewers know that last year was a very harrowing time for the family as the truth about Linda's rape was exposed, before Mick found out that Shirley was his mother.

Although things appear to be looking up for them at the moment - with Mick and Linda busy planning their New Year's Day wedding - upcoming scenes will see Babe (Annette Badland) launch the celebrations early.

Babe will arrive at The Vic armed with a family goose for Christmas dinner, but how will the Carters react to her unusual gesture?

Stacey becomes worried when she pays a visit to Shabnam and finds her on a supervised visit with Jade, which she didn't tell her about. When Fiona leaves the room, Shabnam encourages Jade to tell the judge if she doesn't feel safe with Buster, Shirley or Dean. Stacey is shocked by Shabnam's comments and the two friends clash.

Later, Stacey visits The Vic to practise Linda's hair for the wedding and accidentally lets slip that Shabnam took Jade to the park without permission. Stacey pleads with Linda not to tell anyone in case it jeopardises Shabnam's chances, but Mick overhears the conversation and forces Linda to tell him the whole story. Mick tells Linda that he'll keep it to himself, but can he really do that to Shirley?

Meanwhile, Mick comes up with an idea to distract Elaine from getting too involved with the wedding preparation. Babe also has a surprise for the Carters - a Christmas goose.

Elsewhere, it's the day of Kathy's trial and she is relieved to learn that she has a suspended sentence.

Stacey decides to warn Shabnam about Shirley's intentions, causing Shabnam to break down and confront Shirley. Despite an emotional plea from both Shabnam and Stacey, Buster forces them to leave.

Later, as they prepare to leave for court, Kush and Shabnam have an honest conversation and come to a decision. When Shabnam and Stacey make amends, Shabnam drops a bombshell by revealing that she thinks she's pregnant.

It's a good job we can rely on the scriptwriters to always come up with novel ideas and not get stuck in a tired old cliche-ridden rut.

New pictures show troubled Bobby Beale striking again in EastEnders tonight (December 4) as he lashes out at Jane.

Jane (Laurie Brett) has been covering for her son Bobby after he killed his half-sister Lucy last year, but his behaviour has given her cause for concern ever since.

Shock scenes will see Jane on the receiving end of his temper this time as they end up in a row when Bobby is informed that he will be swapping rooms with Kathy.

Whilst everyone celebrates the Christmas tree lights switch-on in the Square, Jane finds herself caught up at home when Bobby starts to misbehave.

Refusing to move bedrooms, Bobby's angry streak strikes again as he shoves Jane, prompting her to fall down the stairs. Will Jane be alright?

EastEnders airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
