The main puzzle re gay characters in Emmerdale
is though there seems to be quite a lot of them
( compared to demographics & other soaps)
very few seem to be wholly or even mainly gay.

Aaron yes probably and also Finn - though he has
very recently come out and still very young but
Ive always thought people do know from an
early age.

Lawrence -still not resolved really.He seems
gay but married for decades and wanting to
try again.

Ali and Ruby both had long term straight relationships
before being lesbian and Ali did backslide with Dan.
Also seemed likely Ruby would going to be given
a boyfriend before they killed her.

Debbie & Charity have had lesbian relationships
tho in Charitys case- mainly for the money.

Jackson was gay -but soon paralysed!!

Zoe lesbianism seemed ti be a bit of an"add-on"

In Corrie & EE - there are less but mainly they
are what seem to be except for short periods
( Marcus & Syed)

So are they saying bi- sexuality is much more

I think the worst that can be said about the actor
is that he misled the viewers. As often happens in
interviews with actors reproduced on here. The
wording often sounds as tho scripted by producer( not just ED)

I accept over-hyping seems to be part of the
job nowadays.Making ii sound as tho something
sensational is going to happen when actually
it is a rerun of a plot seen several times before!

I think the PTB were ok about the hype and publicity.
If not they could have issued a rebuttal very quickly.
A sin of omission if not commission.

Soap Spoilers: Emmerdale plea

​Over on Emmerdale, Robert Sugden prepares to take to the witness stand as Chrissie's trial continues, but a heartfelt plea from her son Lachlan could change everything.

Chrissie (Louise Marwood) is facing an uncertain future as she stands trial for her part in the helicopter crash that cost the lives of Val Pollard and Ruby Haswell.

Knowing that Robert is due to give evidence, Chrissie tells Lawrence that the outcome is resting on his testimony as that is what will sway the jury.

However, unbeknownst to them, Lachlan has been listening to their conversation and decides to take matters into his own hands in order to help his mum.

Lachlan later asks Robert a heartfelt favour before he is due in court, but as Robert takes the witness stand, will he listen? And which way will the case go?

Paddy and Rhona have their first adoption meeting.

- Ashley presents Bob with pantomime tickets as a gift, thanking him for keeping his secret.
- Tess is taken aback when Paddy tells her about his and Rhona's adoption meeting but she has news of her own!

- Adam is chuffed to hear Johnny could be home by Christmas but Vanessa is uneasy over it.

Makes sense now why Aaron lashes out at Doug the cheek of the man, I understand why he would be upset & worried for Diane but surely he knows Chas was nearly murdered by Cameron in that very pub & would never hurt her knowingly

& is he & Diane/Victoria ever going to apologise for their treatment of Chas & Aaron. I hope Aaron doesn't go to far to attack him or anything but he needs telling.

​Aaron continues to worry that someone is after Chas, wondering if it could be the same person who shot Robert. When Aaron quizzes Robert, he's left with reason to suspect that Robert actually knows who his shooter was.

Later, Chas goes to see Diane at the hospital, but her appearance upsets Diane and Victoria kicks her out.

Chas's visit upsets Diane and Victoria tells her to leave

Not long afterwards, Aaron tells Cain that he thinks Chas's stalker could be all in her head. When Chas wakes up alone in the empty farm, she sees a disturbing sight...

Meanwhile, Diane puts up a brave front when she's given some upsetting news.

Elsewhere, Chrissie tells Lawrence that Robert's testimony could sway the jury, oblivious to the fact Lachlan is listening in. Later, Lachlan asks Robert for a heartfelt favour, but will it work? And which way will the case go when Robert starts to give evidence?

Also today, Pollard is still clearly in denial as he continues chatting to Val. His boiler is broken and David urges him to get it fixed, but Pollard ignores his advice and seems more interested in Chrissie's trial.

Chas runs terrified from the house, convinced that Robert is in pursuit. She ends up in the woods but after hearing a gunshot sound and voices, she trips and falls, knocking herself unconscious.

At the same time, Cain and Aaron are worried about Chas and start wondering if she is perhaps somehow doing all this to herself. Emma helpfully suggests that Chas could have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, but Cain isn't convinced.

Meanwhile, a scared Diane is wheeled into surgery. After surgery, Diane is dismayed to learn that she will have to undergo more treatment.

Elsewhere, Robert warns Andy that Aaron is suspicious that Robert knows who the shooter was. Andy fears it won't take long for Aaron to figure out who Robert is protecting.

​Robert wishes Chrissie luck, admitting that it was Lachlan who convinced him to speak up for her in court. David dreads to think what Pollard will do if Chrissie is cleared and is left worried when Leyla reveals that nobody has seen Pollard today. Fearing he might have hurt himself, they break in and are horrified to find his shrine to Val.

When Pollard orders him to leave, David handcuffs himself to the bannister in protest. Pollard insists that if Chrissie doesn't get justice tomorrow, he'll serve her his own punishment. Unable to get free, David is left in a panic.

Meanwhile, Chas is finally given a diagnosis - she does have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Diane is shocked, but wonders if it's a Dingle scam to get her off the hook. Later, Doug publicly airs his doubts over Chas's diagnosis at the pub, but Aaron snaps and goes for him. Robert uses this to his advantage and offers Aaron a deal, but will Aaron accept?

Elsewhere, when Rhona jokes about secrets in her marriage, Paddy's slight panic doesn't go unnoticed.

Also today, Bob goes to David's shop to check out the new competition but is shocked to find Carly working there.

As a new day dawns in the village, David is still padlocked to the radiator. Pollard heads to court as Nikhil arrives and frees David. Soon afterwards, Chrissie is found not guilty, so a furious Pollard does his best to wreak his revenge. David arrives just as Pollard is arrested, but how much trouble is he in?

Chrissie waits for the verdict in court

Lachlan is furious over Pollard's behaviour and tells Gabby they're breaking in tonight. Once inside, he steals Val's wedding ring and Gabby takes Bernice's necklace, but Lachlan is not finished there....

Meanwhile, Paddy finds Tess upset in her car at the school and suggests they talk as friends, but when Tess unburdens her marriage troubles, the pair realise they want more and go in for a kiss.

Elsewhere, Rishi asks Nikhil to go easier on Jai at work and he agrees to bring Priya back. They're impressed when she secures their deal, but she also makes a revelation about Jai.

Also, Doug and Zak's animosity builds following yesterday's tension over Chas and Diane.

​Pollard is horrified to see his shrine to Val wrecked. He also discovers that her engagement ring has been stolen. Pollard rages at David, thinking he's responsible. David is heartbroken as Pollard boards up his house, vowing that nobody will touch anything of Val's ever again.

Eric shocks David by taking dramatic action

Later, Gabby challenges Lachlan over Val's engagement ring and threatens to tell the police, but can he tempt her to keep quiet?

Meanwhile, Jai is unfazed as Nikhil, Priya and Rishi tackle him over stealing their customers. Leyla rejects Jai's offer of a drink, but Nikhil is angered to see the closeness between them and upsets her, leaving him feeling guilty.

Elsewhere, despite feeling guilty for sleeping with Tess again, Paddy is saddened when she suggests it can't happen anymore. Unable to get Tess out of his mind, he texts her but is left wondering if he's done the right thing.

Also, Amelia and Dan put on eye patches in sympathy for Kerry.

Finally, Robert is pleased when Emma confirms to a shocked Doug that Chas does have PTSD. Doug is grateful as Zak accepts his apology.

​Leyla tells Jai how Nikhil branded her a gold digger. Megan is grateful when Nikhil offers to take her to the hospital. Jai sees them together and berates Nikhil for what he said to Leyla.

Later, Nikhil apologises to Leyla and she agrees to forgive him for David's sake. However, Priya is suspicious when he grows flustered trying to cover where he's been with Megan today.

Meanwhile, Tess is taken aback when Paddy tells her about his and Rhona's adoption meeting, but she also has news of her own.

Elsewhere, Pollard is taken aback to see David sleeping in a tent outside, but Pollard still has no intention of leaving his self-imposed prison. David decides to get professional help but is left devastated when Dr Cavanagh can't help. David clings to one final bit of hope and vows to get Val's ring back.

Also today, Ashley presents Bob with pantomime tickets for the twins as a gift, thanking him for keeping his secret. Bob reminds Ashley that Harriet will understand too, but Ashley is still not ready to find out.

Pollard's not so Lucky!

In the wake of Eric’s outburst against an exonerated Chrissie, Lachlan swears revenge and teams up with Gabby to teach the B & B owner a lesson.

Breaking in, the Lachlan steals Val’s ring and Gabby nabs Bernice’s necklace before they trash his shrine to Val.

Eric is left destroyed when he discovers the mess and rages at David, whom he thinks is responsible. He then starts to board up his house to stop anyone ever touching anything that belongs to Val again.

When Gabby realises that Lachlan has the ring, she threatens to tell the police. But how will he manage to keep her quiet.

Meanwhile, David is determined to get the ring back at all costs…

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday 3 December and Friday 4 December on ITV.
