Apparently Amber's daughter is called Matilda. Hope she is well and healthy :)

Just speculation at the moment. She could die, she may not.
Maybe the baby is a reincarnation of Kate? And she'll develop the ability to return to the age she was when she died? Kate and Mark will then kill Lou, because duh, we have speculation he'll die and then Paige will be framed for his murder because who dares date Mark, aside from Kate, must be jailed!
I mean, it's fairly obvious that Matilda is an acronym for Kate.
Doug returns because he is sick and tired of his son just giving out his sperm to any woman who talks to him for more than 5 seconds and he can no longer afford to buy gifts for all of his grandchildren and we'll find out Brad actually has another 5 kids with 10 women.
My reliable source confirmed it all for me.

There is no way that would happen, it would be such an unpopular storyline. Lauren would never allow that to happen, given Paige and her history.

That's actually what I was thinking might happen, maybe she goes to stay with Chris and Lucy. Obviously Josh can't get into America so that would be a plausible reason for why he doesn't leave when Amber does.

I might be having a complete brain freeze but I don't remember Neighbours (or other soap) running a storyline involving a small child's death unless it a cot death story.

It has the operation at the hospital. It only had a mild case of CDH, so didn't need to go to America.

Home & Away did a SIDS storyline in 2012 after Heath & Bianca's baby died in it's sleep.

She, not it, Gilly 😀 this doesn't mean that she won't require treatment in the future, hope Amber does go to America with Matilda, I don't want the baby to die. Anyway, since spoilers for the next couple of weeks say Matilda is coming home, then her death and Amber's departure would need to happen really quickly, it would be very rushed for such an important storyline. As Chris is going to be on Skype soon, and both Doug and Lou are returning for guest stints, it would be much more believable that either of these could be part of a build-up to Amber's departure-e.g Chris could tell Amber there is a great photography course in NYU and that there's a hospital offering excellent care for babies with CDH. Just a theory, I don't have any "reliable sources" lol 😀

EastEnders did too .. causing Samantha Womack to leave the show for a while ... Laurel in Emmerdale experienced this storyline when baby Daniel died, Kevin Webster´s son in Coronation Street died of SIDS, Zoe Tattersall lost her baby girl as did Sarah Platt´s son Billy .. there have been a few but mostly cot deaths :(

I thought NeighboursNutty meant she hadn't seen a soap storyline about a small child's death apart from cot death storylines. There have been a few of those but I can't remember any soap featuring a baby or small child dying for any other reason.

Jenny Bradley´s son died but off screen, Hope Stape has cancer at the moment so could lead to her death

who were toddlers in a car crash at a level
crossing.It was in the very early days of the
programme.Their parents were Matt Skillbeck
and Annie Sugdens daughter Peggy ( who
had already died from a brain anueryism)
An Auntie of Matts was driving the car.
I think it was shocking because it was so
unexpected( no spoilers to speak of then)

Thanks for all the posts. I remember the Brookside story now Lizann, was it Max Farnham's son and daughter can't remember his wife's name? Brookie always had very gritty storylines.

Oh yes I remember it now, Max and Susannah's kids. A boy and a girl, the girl was called Emily. V gritty storyline alright.

Amber goes into labour during a fire at Erinsborough High and Matilda is born prematurely by caesarean section. She spends the first few weeks of her life in the neonatal intensive-care unit.

Oh good. I was wondering when and what they would name their daughter. As of Fridays episode at Aus pace they still hadn`t decided on a name for their daughter.
Matilda is such a pretty name. I like it.
