Derek has realised that Big Brother is not trying to create a pleasant atmosphere in the house.
"This is self-evidently not supposed to be a civilised experience which is why they've put all these people in this house," he announced to all of the people in the house.
"It looks very good on camera but it's actually a hell hole! I didn't realise there was so much poverty until I came in here. It is awful."
He cited not being able to "adequately exercise" and not being able to drink alcohol at a whim as examples of the things which drive him "very very mad."
Derek continued: "I think that is the whole purpose of this year's Big Brother: they're treating everybody like children and this is a playground, where people behave like children in the playground all the time."
