Lauren trys to stop Jane? Seems everyone even Max's daugther wants Bobby/Jane to walk free whilst send Max down. I thought Lauren would break the chain. I really hope Lauren tries to stop it for a different reason.
does masood too know it was bobby

Everyone knows it's Bobby except the police. The whole of Walford knows but have all decided it is far better to send an innocent man to prison for life than upset Bobby. As you do.....

To be fair, Jane promises to confess to save Max if he's found guilty, so it looks like Lauren won't allow Max to be sent down. Remember she also has loyalty to Peter's family and doesn't want them getting into serious trouble if the truth comes out.
It's still unrealistic of course, but I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for an entertaining and tense storyline. It looks like Max's trial will be a corker.

Im looking forward to the trial too.
For all the usual.reasons drama/ revelations
etc- but also because Marcus Christie returns!
Hes played by Stephen Churchett - who I
think plays the part very well.
In addition to being an actor( as you probably
know ).he also writes books and TV scripts - inc
episodes of Morse / Dalziel/ Kavanagh.
And has adapted some Miss Marple for TV.
So well versed in murder and trials!!

max is lauren's father, lucy was her best mate she owes bobby nothing and peter hasn't even came back for the trial so he don't care either way who goes down for it

Thanks, that's interesting information about Steven Churchett. I'm looking forward to seeing him in action at Max's trial too. It was one of DTC's better decisions to bring Marcus back.

We don't yet know why Peter isn't back and, as I said, from the spoilers it seems Lauren isn't prepared to see Max go down for Lucy's murder. She lets the trial play out because Jane promises to confess to save Max if necessary. Presumably she and Peter are still together and she knows he'll get into trouble for conspiring to keep the secret if the truth comes out (and so would she for that matter).
I agree the whole thing's bonkers but there's a certain soap logic to it.

Is Jane giving Max a fake alibi, is this why Marcus came to see her?
Lauren should have gone first thing to the police station and landed Jane, Ian and Bobby in trouble and end this saga for once

That's what it sounded like.

Then we wouldn't get to see Max's trial. :nono:
I wouldn't be surprised if there's lots more to come of this story whether Max gets off or not. Lauren will keep quiet if Max is found not guilty. I'm personally still enjoying the ever more ludicrous twists and turns. :p

Theres actually quite a lot of episode time to
fill in-
If the storys to be the main Christmas one-
the trial and after effects need to be filled out.
In real life trials do.take weeks/months
and then sometimes mistrial can be declared
-but wont go there ! Dodgy Jurors!
Also witnesses do tell lies/give false alibis etc
and get found out.
I think.a lot of believability is down to the
acting- how good it is and there are some
good actors involved.
Jake Wood is going on.one year break but
returning to.EE later?
If he is found "not guilty" - will have to
find a story to cover the rest of his absence.
He could go on long holiday etc to get over
the stress but that be a bit tame!
If he is found guilty - they will have to
find new evidence etc for him.to
be released later on. Can do some
episodes from.prison but not really
good for a long story line!!
So hope they are planning realistic
developments for story for next year
or so! Or.a story that looks very interesting
could fizzle out!- but hope not!

Lauren is feeling troubled following last week's events and confides in Jane that she's worried about Max being sent down. Abi overhears their conversation and is upset to hear that Lauren went to see Max, which leads to another argument between the sisters. An emotional plea from Lauren convinces Abi to go to the court and support Max, but the day takes a surprising turn when Marcus Christie once again brings Abi's name into his questioning.
When Keeble responds to Marcus's probing questions, Abi gets frustrated and is asked to leave after she causes a scene. Once outside, Lauren shares her disapproval of Max's actions and she later tells a stunned Jane not to bother helping Max - he's on his own from now on.
Meanwhile, Charlie and Roxy are preparing to leave Walford with Matthew. As word of their departure starts to spread, will their escape go to plan?
Back on the Square, Claudette spots a call from Ronnie to Vincent's phone. Unhappy, she decides to take drastic action.

Marcus becomes concerned when Max refuses to listen to his advice. As a new day in court begins, Phil gets angry when Ben is torn apart on the stand. Phil furiously warns Marcus to stop his accusations, but his outburst backfires as he is asked to leave.
Max is next up in court, but before he takes the stand, he warns Marcus to stop using Abi's name as part of his defence. Marcus ignores him and brings up Abi anyway as he questions Max. As Max publicly snaps and tells Marcus to leave his daughter alone, is he making life much worse for himself?
Back home after the eventful day in court, Carol is shocked to find Robbie waiting for her.

I think they've set it up quite realistically for Max to leave the square in disgust if he's found not guilty. He's lost his home and business and the only relative that'll be left on the square is Abi, who betrayed him. What has he got to stick around for?

Max is a character I neither particularly like
or dislike.But put as you.have done-I could
feel quite sorry for him.!!
And per spoilers - may have Jane " helping"
him.now-Oh dear me!!
I think when I.posted I was hoping for a new
type of exit story. Total disillusion could be that!!
Still think trial will be good and there are other
stories unfolding eg Kathys Shabnam etc
and perhaps Dean(.wont hold my breath)!!

Possibly writing Lauren that way to make
her permanent return ( without Peter??)
more realistic.
Probably have to.wait til after trial
to see?
Some behaviours out of character but
then in.Soaps they sometimes are.

I'm dying to find out why Lauren turns against Max. They've always had a difficult relationship, but I didn't expect that. I'm finding this storyline to be more unrealistic than Kathy's at the moment (although I'm enjoying both).

Does Lauren know about Max's affair with Lucy? If she finds out about that now, that would explain it, I guess. But she may already know - I can't remember - in which case, it wouldn't!

That's a good question. I thought the affair was common knowledge so I assumed she knew, but like you I can't remember any specific scenes to that effect.

I did a quick skim.through the storylines
part of Wiki entry for Lauren. Its very
long and detailed -so could have missed it-
but no mention of Lauren knowing about
affair ??
In BBC case files - Lucy Beale
sub folder Suspect Lauren Branning
possible motive entry " has recently found

sorry cant do link.
Didnt see scene on screen- but miss some
