EastEnders' executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins has revealed details of which characters will be taking centre stage over the autumn.
The next few months are being billed as a dramatic time for Albert Square with the BBC One soap building up to a "very big Halloween" and ultimately Christmas.
At the forefront of the the action is the return of Kathy Beale, who has previously addressed her plans to move back to Walford permanently.
However, there is more drama to look forward to including a huge story for Stacey Branning, Max's trial, Carol Jackson's exit, a few returns and a new character.
Speaking at an EastEnders press event, Treadwell-Collins said: "We have got Max's trial which is filled with twists and turns and we want to keep the audience surprised by the outcome.
"We have got Ronnie, Charlie and Vincent's very warped love triangle, we have got Carol's departure, Dot comes out of prison, Robbie comes back and Lauren comes back briefly."

"We have also got the climax of the Les, Pam and Claudette story and there is a very big story for Stacey coming up.
"Shabnam and Kush's story is only just beginning and we've got Lee's depression running through."
Treadwell-Collins also admitted that there were some lighter scenes on the horizon for the Carter family as Linda's mum Elaine returns with a rather controversial love interest.

Elaine will return with a toyboy lover
He said: "We also have some rare fun for the Carter's with Maria Friedman returning for a three month stint as Elaine, with Scott Neil in tow as her toyboy lover. This will add a little bit of fun - it is fun for Mick and Linda in the Vic.
"There is joy but there is a lot of pain. Everyone has a chance to shine. I always say that in September we start the rumblings for the festive season and it is a big, big bumpy ride between now and Christmas. There are lots of shocks in store."
