By the looks of these spoilers nothing much is happening and the only exciting thing is "Val’s extraordinary funeral". How sad is that, LOL. :hmm:

Not sure I agree - Who is Lawrence's new acquaintance? How is he duped? Possibly someone in drag. Who or what is Jimmy's house guest? And what has Aaron done? Presumably covered for Robert about the fire??? Think Dan may go for the career Ruby wanted - it seems to be leading up to him needing some nursing skills to overcome his guilt.

Val’s extraordinary funeral - mind boggles - Mardi Gras style springs to mind - it's not going to be a quiet low key event that's for sure -they wouldn't confuse us would they? Give us just that as we are all expecting a major event.

Like I said, nothing much. I want to know what’s happening with Ross, as for Lawrence who really cares. And no doubt, the "missing/dead Ross" story line will drag on and on.

Hi there, Cheetah.

There seems to be a fault with the server or script that soapboards.co.uk use for this website.

The best thing to do for now is to never use the "Post Quick Reply" button to add a new post to the board after you have written something in the 'Quick Reply' text box. Always use the "Go Advanced" button, you'll then get the chance to add emoticons and other features to your reply and then when you click on 'Submit Reply' you won't get a duplicate post. You can also 'Preview Post' to check what you're going to send to the forum before you submit it using 'Submit Reply'.

Chris Chittell is the longest serving Emmerdale cast actor, having played Eric Pollard continuously since 1986. Here he talks about his current storyline.

Eric Pollard is suicidal following Val's death, says Emmerdale star Chris Chittell

By David Brown
Tuesday 25 August 2015 at 12:01AM

Grieving Eric Pollard is to be left feeling that he has nothing to live for in the wake of wife Val's death, says Emmerdale star Chris Chittell.

"Val gave Eric a purpose in life for the first time ever. For her to be removed in such a cruel fashion is just heinous and unbearable," says the actor. "I think he's close to killing himself because he can't see any redeeming features of his life. If he could croak tomorrow, he would."

Next week's episodes of the ITV soap will see Pollard struggling to cope in the run-up to Val's funeral and lashing out at sister-in-law Diane after her attempts to help backfire.

"Diane comes round and thinks she's doing Pollard a favour by tidying up. But she ends up washing a cup that had Val's lipstick imprinted on it. Eric cherished that cup - he'd look at it and focus on his life with Val and what he had. So his reaction when Diane cleans it is, 'how dare she?"

In the heat of the moment, Eric ends up banning Diane from the funeral, telling her that because she left Val to die on the fateful afternoon of the helicopter crash, then she has no right to be at the service.

"Diane is feeling the brunt of Eric's anger and - in his eyes - deservedly so. She left Val in that mirror maze, which to him is unforgivable. Pollard wasn't there at the time, but he has to vent his spleen somewhere and therefore it has to be Diane."

On the day that Val died, Eric, Rodney and Doug had locked Val and Diane in the mirror maze as a way of getting them to sort out their differences, little suspecting that Val would be the dead by the end of the afternoon. So does Pollard need to face up to his own guilt and stop punishing Diane?

"If Eric did that, then it'd be the point of no return," continues Chittell. "He will have to address that, but he just can't at the moment. It's everybody's fault but his."

So with fury and recrimination swirling, it seems that the stage is set for a very emotive send-off for Val. "He's let Diane have free rein with planning the funeral. But when Pollard finds out that Diane left her sister to die, he doesn't want anything more to do with her. He's a very angry man indeed.

"But, in a way, it's his anger that's getting Eric through the day. If he didn't have that, maybe he'd just float away.

"I feel that Eric has got a very long road ahead of him. There's nobody who can take Valerie's place and he certainly doesn't envisage anyone ever being able to do so."

For Chittell, the exit of co-star Charlie Hardwick was one he felt keenly ("we were a great team. Every now and again in this business, you find someone you just enjoy working with"), with the recent scene in which Val's 'ghost' visited Eric proving to be one of their finest moments together.

"I thought that scene was genius. From the script and the direction to the costume and make-up - everything was spot on. On the Friday evening that Val's 'apparition' appeared, Twitter went potty. I was answering tweets for two-and-a-half hours. Unbelievable! And it's an example of what we at Emmerdale care about. It's been going for 43 years and has given work to thousands of clever people and to be a part of it is a great honour."

Emmerdale spoilers: Aaron will flee the village as Andy investigates Katie's death

By Daniel Kilkelly
Tuesday, Aug 25 2015, 00:01 BST

Emmerdale mechanic Aaron Livesy runs away from his problems next week after Andy Sugden gets dangerously close to the truth about his wife Katie's death.

Aaron is alarmed when he realises that Andy blames him for Katie's tragic demise, pointing out that her troubled state of mind may have led her to Wylie's Farm on that fateful day.

Aaron realises that Andy is close to the truth

The pair's unexpected showdown flares up as Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) remains plagued with questions over why Katie went to the unsafe farm building on the day of her death.

Now aware that Katie was right all along about Robert's bad behaviour and nobody believed her, Andy gets tough with Aaron by suggesting that she might still be alive if it wasn't for his affair with Robert.

Teasing the drama to come, Danny Miller - who plays Aaron - revealed: "Aaron tries to reach out to Andy and say that he's got to stop beating himself up about Katie's death. Andy then puts it all on Aaron and Robert, saying it's all their fault. Aaron tries to reason with Andy, but Andy tells him that he'll never forgive him.

"Aaron does his utmost best to ensure that Andy doesn't find out any more than that, but then Andy goes through some of Katie's things and finds the last phone number she called before she died. Aaron knows it was more than likely to be him. He does everything he can to stop Andy from pursuing it, but he's definitely nervous as he doesn't like lying.

"Aaron has to almost convince Andy that he's going a bit crazy. He says that it's not worth ringing the number because he wouldn't know what to say if he did. Aaron is just so scared of what the outcome might be that he has to hide his phone in the end!"

Andy will continue to question Katie's death

With the pressure building, Aaron finds an excuse to leave the village for a while. However, it seems that he may just be prolonging the inevitable as show bosses have already confirmed that Andy will uncover the whole truth about Katie's demise later in the autumn.

Miller continued: "It's all too much for Aaron to handle, so he runs away from his problems. He goes off to see a friend in London for a bit, but that gives Andy a bit more time to investigate everything without Aaron around to pull him away.

"I'm looking forward to the point where it does all come out. There's already been a year's worth of story that has built up, so I'm looking forward to the peak of it and seeing what the outcome of it is. But for now I'm in limbo-land as much as the viewers are!"

Miller also offered hope to Emmerdale's army of 'Robron' fans by refusing to rule out a reunion for Aaron and Robert.

Robert and Aaron

He said: "They're still very much attracted to each other and deep down they both love each other, but I think Chrissie would have to move on with her life before Robert would even consider a reunion with Aaron.

"Then it'd also be a case of whether Aaron would accept Robert back into his life or not. Robert has lied to Aaron so much that I don't think he'd ever trust him again! He'd have a lot of making up to do.

"I think it's been shelved very temporarily and it'll be a matter of time before it's reopened and we'll see what Robert and Aaron really feel for each other."

Round-up:

Aaron feels guilty when Andy tells him that he will never forgive him for not telling the truth about his affair with Robert because Katie might otherwise still be alive. Later, Andy offers him an olive branch and Chas tells Aaron that they could each do with a mate right now. Aaron is rattled by Robert’s digs about his new-found friendship with Andy and tells Chas that he is off to London for a spell. Things turn nasty when a good-looking guy called Connor turns up at Home Farm, telling Lawrence that he has been beaten up. There is a further shock in store for Lawrence when the police arrive to charge him with assault. The rift between Pollard and Diane grows as he bans her from attending Val’s funeral. Paul is back from Portugal and offers Alicia the chance of joining him as a partner in his bar. But she is worried, not having had the chance to discuss it with David – who is concerned that his father might do something stupid. Hunter is back in business and Jimmy is intrigued when he hears that Rodney can make £200 per date. Wondering if he could make a living as a gigolo, he is humiliated when he suggests it to Brenda and she laughs at him. Things later take an unexpected turn as he and Rodney get more than they bargained for. Harriet is relieved when both David and Diane agree to give Bob a character reference, but Carly still proves elusive. Belle struggles to hide her disappointment when she is told that Kirin and Vanessa are off to a conference in Birmingham. James and Emma’s announcement that they are back together gets a muted reception.

Let's roll back the clock to Monday August 10th 2015.

10-08-2015 20:14

Ok so my friends dad found a script for Emmerdale for the next three months. She's told me that in the script, around the time of Vals funeral, Pete is shocked when he comes face to face with a bloody and braised Ross who asks him why he tried to bury him alive. Ross tells Pete that the whole family knew what Pete did to Ross. Ross then spends that week trying to get Debbie back. This is all I know for now.

I'll update when I know more but Ross is definitely alive.

10-08-2015 20:21

There's also something about Megan getting pregnant but I'm not interested in any of that stuff tbh

11-08-2015 01:57

Hilarious how people think I'm lying haha, you'll see in the very near future. Why would I create an account just to make up a sad lie lmao

I saw this post from darkhorse from just over 2 weeks ago now. I haven't forgotten it but couldn't substantiate, at the time of it being posted by darkhorse, whether it was true or if it was a post from a fake message board poster or from a deluded Emmerdale fan who just wanted Ross to be alive. I really wanted positive evidence. The main problem for me was that darkhorse was a new soapboards Emmerdale Junior member with no credible posting history. Just how would someone like this have any real insight into what seemed to be a fantastic unbelievable storyline about Emmerdale scripts covering about 3 months into the future and with a storyline which was nothing like anyone else was thinking at the time.

If what darkhorse claimed is true, the storyline about Ross reappearing on Emmerdale should happen around Val's funeral on Tuesday September 1st 2015.

In hindsight now, to me anyway, it does now seem that darkhorse might have been possibly right and telling the truth. At the time, there was massive TV/news/internet credible publicity that Ross had been killed off. There were so many Emmerdale Ross fans who wanted otherwise, didn't believe, and were viewed as deluded Emmerdale soap fans. Well, we all really know now how the news media has its own agenda (maybe mainly making money from headlines, true or otherwise).

So, to darkhorse, although your claims seemed incredible to us all here on soapboards.co.uk at the time, you really do seem to have been vindicated for now anyway. What really seemed to be deluded fan ideas/a teenage prank on Emmerdale soapboards.co.uk at the time you posted on soapboards.co.uk back then on Monday August 10th 2015 has so far to date seemed to have been completely correct. If this carries through on Emmerdale on TV around September 1st 2015 to be as you wrote on 10/08/15, then I, and others here on Emmerdale soapboards.co.uk, will salute you for your truly terrific spoiler so early on for something which takes place around September 1st 2015, when Ross should reappear at the farm in front of Pete and say "Hello bruv. Bet you weren't expecting to see me again..."

Time will tell.

Emmerdale Episode Guide – Monday 31st August

A guilty Aaron listens in as Andy tells Chas the barn has been sold and he will probably never know why Katie went there that day. Later when Aaron tries to convince Andy not to be so hard on himself, Andy makes it clear he will never forgive Aaron for not telling the truth about his affair with Robert. If he had told the truth that day Katie might still be alive. Guilty, Aaron is shocked he's closer to the truth than he realises.

Lawrence is impressed when Bernice puts Robert in his place and they share a bottle of wine. She's excited when Lawrence invites her to an exclusive ball, thinking he seems keener than she could have hoped for.

Diane remains determined to help Pollard. Finding his home empty and in a mess, she begins to clean up and puts Val's lipstick stained cup in the sink to wash. Later, however, Pollard's furious to see the cup on the draining board with no sign of the lipstick and angrily smashes it before storming out. A furious Pollard tells a devastated Diane as she left Val to die she has no right to be at her funeral.

Emma and James announce that they are back together to a muted reception.

Emmerdale Episode Guide – Tuesday 1st September

Pollard wakes up on the sofa, still fully dressed, with Val's coat over him. Elsewhere, Diane changes her mind and decides to go to the funeral but it's clear she's dreading the prospect of facing him. In the cafe, everyone worries about Pollard when Paul tells them how livid he is with Diane. David hopes Ashley is right when he says Diane and Pollard will be able to find a way through this. But later, when Diane tries to talk to Pollard, he continues to blame her for Val's death, he's still furious and it's obvious this is far from over. The stage is finally set for a very unconventional funeral and everyone's relieved when an emotionally fragile Pollard finally turns up, but is he there to stay?

Kerry gives Connor, a good-looking guy she thinks is a reporter, directions to Home Farm. At Home Farm, Connor kicks a stable door off its hinges before regaining his composure and heading towards the house. Lawrence is wary when Connor introduces himself as an odd job man, explaining he heard about the Enterprise Awards and wanted to impress Lawrence with his can-do attitude. But is Connor to be trusted?

Andy decides it's time he moves on and sort out some of Katie's stuff. In the pub, Andy's left thoughtful when Chas says both him and Aaron could do with a mate right now. Later, Aaron feels a mixture of hope and guilt as Andy hands him an olive branch. But soon, Aaron's uneasy when Andy finds Katie's phone bill and goes to call the last number Katie dialled before she died…

Alicia's taken aback when Paul tells her he'd like her to be a partner in his bar, but she worries about the timing for David.

Emmerdale Episode Guide – Wednesday 2nd September

Lawrence calls Bernice, inviting her over for lunch. Connor arrives at Home Farm, covered in bruises and tells Lawrence he was beaten up because he's gay. Lawrence feels sorry for him and offers to clean him up. Connor leaves a blooded tissue in a waste bin as Lawrence gives him £300 after learning he's skint. At the house for lunch, Bernice asks Lawrence if he's gay but they're interrupted by the police and Lawrence is horrified to learn of Connor's accusations of assault. Later, Robert returns and Lawrence is overcome when Robert says he believes him and vows to help him, but can Robert be trusted?

Tracey and Finn wonder what to do with the pictures of Val from the funeral and are surprised when Pollard arrives claiming to be fine. Meanwhile, Alicia tells Paul she hasn't had a chance to speak to David about his offer regarding Portugal. David's worried Pollard might do something stupid. Paul says he has a drastic plan...

Aaron's got a new phone in light of what Andy discovered but stuffs it in his pocket when Andy arrives. Chas says it would have been Katie's birthday and Aaron feels guilty. Later, Andy agrees to go riding with Sarah to mark the occasion, determined to move on. Later, Andy's grateful when Aaron tells him to remember the good times and promises things will get better.

It's moving day for Jimmy, Bernice, Rakesh and Priya, but Priya's clearly unhappy. Rodney organises a date with a client as Hunter's back in business, and Jimmy's thoughtful when he learns Rodney gets £200 for a date.

Emmerdale Episode Guide – Thursday 3rd September

Lawrence talks to his solicitor about the assault but reiterates the problem of his son-in-law still exists and needs sorting - quickly. Soon after, Robert suggests to Lawrence he could do some digging on Connor, but will Lawrence allow Robert to help him, and is Robert’s help genuine? When Lawrence is later asked to attend the police station to go over the evidence, it’s clear things are not looking good. Could Robert’s intervention bring about a change of circumstances for Lawrence?

Jimmy asks Rodney about being a gigolo but is left humiliated when Brenda laughs at him. Later, Rodney's running late for his date with Suzie and asks Jimmy to entertain her. Jimmy begins to enjoy himself and after a couple of drinks he takes Suzie back home for a coffee, keen to prove Rodney wrong about him. But later, things take an unexpected turn and both Jimmy and Rodney get more than they bargained for.

A stressed Harriet lies to Brenda she's close to finding Carly. She tells Ashley she can't tell the authorities about Ged, as Brenda would get in trouble for smuggling the sim card into prison. Later, Harriet's relieved when David and Diane agree to give Bob a character reference, behind Pollard’s back. Harriet agrees to look after April as Ashley forgot he'd said he could, but could April prove key to tracking Carly down?

Bernice is uneasy around Lawrence following the allegations against him and is further unsettled by Edna’s words of warning, but will Lawrence win her over with his generous offer? Aaron is rattled by Robert’s digs regarding his friendship with Andy and Chas worries when Aaron packs a bag to go to London for a while, sure there is more to it than he's letting on.

Emmerdale Episode Guide – Friday 4th September

Brenda is disappointed to learn Harriet has been lying to her about her progress with tracking down Carly so also sets off to find her. Ashley calls Harriet who's at a market to warn her about Brenda. Brenda arrives but is agog when Harriet spots Carly at a stall and catches up with her. Carly's stopped in her tracks as Brenda says she might never see Bob again if she leaves. Will Brenda be left disappointed by Carly’s reaction? Meanwhile, in his cell, Bob tries to make small talk with Ged and soon is making a very big ask of Harriet.

Vanessa and Kirin decide to go to a networking event in Birmingham, as friends. Priya and Rakesh are concerned to hear they are planning on staying over. Belle hides her disappointment when she hears about their trip. She is soon delighted when Kirin compliments her and tells her he's over Vanessa. Meanwhile, Vanessa has second thoughts when Leyla says she's obviously still in love with Kirin. Will Vanessa change their plans and will Belle’s hopes get raised?

Rodney convinces Jimmy to do something illegal (to sell Suzie's jewellery) as he owes it to Nicola to get back on track financially. Amelia and Kerry want to de-stress Dan before his big presentation but Dan's in disbelief when he sees they've accidentally removed his eyebrows. Ashley's finding it difficult to concentrate and Laurel's a little perturbed by his manner.

Over on Emmerdale, Eric Pollard faces one of the toughest days of his life as he prepares to say a final goodbye to his beloved wife Val.

Eric (Chris Chittell) will become a cause for concern in the days leading up to Val's funeral and it becomes unclear whether he will attend the service at all.

As he struggles with his grief, Eric continues to clash with his sister-in-law Diane as he directs all of his anger onto her.

Although Diane remains determined to help Eric, a huge row between them ensues when she kindly decides to clean his house but puts Val's lipstick-stained cup in the sink to wash.

Eric is furious to see the cup on the draining board with no sign of the lipstick and angrily smashes it before storming out. Later, he tells a devastated Diane that she has no right to be at the funeral because she left Val to die.

The half naked sailors this is hilarious! Too bad Aaron went to London missing all the sexy men.

The "Valtacular" takes place on Tuesday September 1st.

The recent leavers are now Ruby, Val, Rachel and Ali.

Aaron packs a bag to go to London for a while on Thursday September 3rd.

Alicia is due to leave soon. I think she'll go to Portugal with Paul to set up a bar or similar.

I've thought for ages that David wouldn't be going long-term and there is a recent spoiler that he wants to buy the village shop back.

Bob might get out of going to jail if Carly stands up for him in court this week but then maybe Carly goes to jail instead? Time will tell.

The Lawrence storylime seems interesting the new character Connor might be gay.

The Lawrence storylime seems interesting the new character Connor might be gay.

Connor certainly has camp mannerisms and he did make gay kissing moves towards Lawrence last night in his house.

Things have obviously been set up so that the Connor storyline starts whilst the Bernice/Lawrence affair is starting up and also when Aaron is due to leave the village for some time from tomorrow, Thursday September 3rd.

Neither Lawrence nor Connor are yet mentioned in next week's spoilers but the storyline is included in tonight's hour-long episode and it may even end during this.

When Lawrence is later asked to attend the police station to go over the evidence, it’s clear things are not looking good. Could Robert’s intervention bring about a change of circumstances for Lawrence?

I think that Robert is somehow involved with setting up this Lawrence/Connor storyline but don't know what Robert's motives are for him to do a favour for Lawrence now. Lawrence is still trying to get Robert out of the business so maybe this Connor set up is some sort of sly threat from Robert to Lawrence to either make Lawrence keep Robert in the business or to deal quickly for the right exit price?

Robert probably set the Connor thing up. Of course being the Hero for Lawrence lets him back in doesn't it

Telly Watcher

I think there may be more than one side to this Lawrence-Connor storyline.

1) Robert set up this Connor sting to get Lawrence sent to jail for assault and then Robert gets control of the Home Farm business. Robert may have even beaten up Connor himself and told him about Lawrence's sexuality history before paying him an 'upfront victim bonus'.

2) Robert set up this Connor sting to rescue Lawrence from possible police/court action and so for Robert to stay in the family business for now.

3) Connor just saw Lawrence's charity-type advert and just tried on the minority (gay-bashing) card to get money from a vulnerable single old man who seemingly has plenty of money. Maybe this is just the start of an Emmerdale storyline about warning elderly/vulnerable people not to accept cold-callers into their homes?

What struck me whilst watching the Wednesday September 2nd show was how genuinely worried and surprised Robert seemed to be at Lawrence's revelation about the details of the earlier Connor incident at Lawrence's house and the police enquiries. So maybe Robert wasn't involved in the sting/set-up and Connor was maybe a lone passing desperate chancer after all? Time will tell.

I think this may be just a short-term issue, maybe even quickly resolved this week, and that Robert will come to the rescue, but it is really badly timed for a chance of a successful relationship between Lawrence and Bernice. I think that Lawrence deserves a much more loving and genuine person to bond with than someone like Bernice, who comes across to me in this matter as a desperate and frustrated woman who doubts about her acceptance of him and how he really feels for her and his motives.
