Well, Jack was a bit of a lad ....I remember him as Vincent going on a blind date ... which turned out to be Vera because she found out what he was going to do :p but Jack and Annie and Roy and Hayley were true to each other

Jack D was involved with Dulcie Frogatt for years.
Cleaning her windows on a regular basis!
Audrey was on the verge of something serious
for years but the only time she was caught
was in the mayoral car on.the back seat with
the chaffeur.
But in all the above relationships - there was
genuine affection on both sides and the
marriages did last and were reasonably equal
and balanced.
Regarding Roy and Hayley ( not a member of
the fan club) . I will just mention Olaf - the
team leader - when Hayley volunteered to
do charity work in Africa. Hayley "fell in love"
with him and was prepared to leave Roy for
him.until she found out something to Olafs
detriment! Which sums up her attitude to
Roy - in my opinion.
Hoping Roy does in time get a more equal
relationship and the viewers get a more
accurate depiction of a male to female
transgender person at some time in future.
I do.accept the actress was given a bit of
a poisoned chalice - the way character written.
I only know 2 transgender people - they and
their experiences are nothing like Hayley.

I think Hayley falling for Olaf was silly scriptwriting .. when an actor wants/needs time off from a soap, it is the easiest way to let them go for a while only for them to regret leaving and coming back. :wall:

Possibly -theres a lot of it about- but there
were plenty of alternatives that could have
been used to explain an absence that
wouldnt have cast the same doubt over
the relationship.
The original question only asked about
faithfulness( which is very important and
can destroy trust completely when not
present) And as far as we know Hayley
was faithful!
I did allow myself to consider happiness
respect and equality - which are also
very important - and if not present in a
relationships-can over time cause serious
damage.

I think he could redeem himself as a character, but Liz and Steve should never forgive him. I've got a terrible feeling the writers will make Liz desperate enough take him back one of these days... :wall:
I think he might redeem himself a little bit by looking out for his son but he should never be taken back by Liz

Round-up:
As Carla shows Aidan around the factory, her car is repossessed. Nick persuades Aidan to help Carla turn the business around, but Aidan is repeatedly left to deal with things on his own during Carla’s disappearances. Alya enjoys watching their struggle to keep the factory afloat. Returning from Ireland, Michelle senses tension between Aidan and Carla and tries to help them resolve matters. Kylie reluctantly takes Max to the police to report that he witnessed Callum’s attack on Jason, but Callum scares Bethany into providing him with an alibi, leaving David and Kylie horrified. Tony tries to give the police a witness statement but they will not believe him. Jason regains consciousness and learns that he may need a kidney transplant. As Jason tries to piece together the events surrounding his attack, Tony attacks Callum and demands the names of his accomplices, but Liz catches him and convinces him to let Callum go. Todd offers to donate a kidney to Jason. Fiz and Tyrone are distraught as Hope is diagnosed with a tumour. After a night drinking with Liz and Erica, Lloyd ponders getting together with Erica, but after Andrea returns and catches them together, he ends up sleeping with Liz. Not wanting to hurt her feelings or anger Steve, Lloyd agrees to go on a date with Liz, but when Andrea shows up, with reconciliation clearly on her mind, he admits that he wants the same. Steve is thrilled when Rover the dog returns. Cathy, whose habits are beginning to annoy Roy, reluctantly agrees to give art classes at the community centre. After an uncertain start, the class proves popular

Lloyd and Liz had an "episode" a few years
ago. Steve came back unexpectedly - they didnt
want him to know- so Lloyd hid behind
an armchair ! Steve was discussoing Lloyd
not knowing he was hidden and it was funny.
But I know what u mean.!! Tho Lloyd is
pleasant - which is more than her boyfriends
usually are.
They need to find Liz some more appropriate
boyfriends?? She seems to be getting
worse ones than Eileen. !

Coming up on Coronation Street, Lloyd Mullaney will grow closer to Liz McDonald in the wake of his split with Andrea Beckett.
Lloyd (Craig Charles) turns to his old flame when it seems that he may have blown any chance to reunite with Andrea.
With Andrea currently away from the cobbles, Lloyd desperately leaves a message on her phone and admits how much he misses her.
Lloyd's honesty brings Andrea back to the Street, but it's at entirely the wrong moment as she catches him looking cosy with Erica Holroyd at The Rovers and storms straight out again.
With Lloyd feeling worse than ever, Liz (Beverley Callard) comes up with a way to cheer him up and invites him to spend the evening with her.
When Liz suggests that they watch TV and share a takeaway, Lloyd reluctantly agrees and they later find themselves bonding as they compare their failed relationships.
However, the evening takes an unexpected turn after Liz moves in to give Lloyd a comforting hug and they end up kissing. Is Lloyd about to put the final nail in the coffin when it comes to his relationship with Andrea?

Carla is depressed after looking through the Underworld accounts and admits to Nick that she's in a financial mess.
As Carla shows Aidan round the factory, a man turns up to repossess her car. Aidan is shocked to realise the extent of Carla's financial problems. Sally tries to make light of the situation, while Alya enjoys watching Carla squirm.

Meanwhile, Gail and David are adamant that Max must go to the police station and make a statement, but Kylie worries that it'll be too upsetting for him. Sarah and Bethany are shocked to hear that Max witnessed Callum beating up Jason. Kylie eventually agrees to take Max to the police. Callum is riled when Bethany refuses to give him an alibi, so he heads to Sarah's house with a plan.
Elsewhere, Tyrone and Fiz take Hope to see the doctor. The doctor tells them that Hope has a lump in her abdomen and will need an ultrasound scan.

Making out that she needs Bethany's help, Gemma lures her into the car. Gemma explains to Bethany that Callum wants her to give him an alibi and tell the police that she was with him and Gemma when Jason was beaten up.
Bethany refuses but Gemma phones Callum, who shows her pictures of Sarah clearly drugged on the sofa at Number 8. Callum tells Bethany that she'll do as she is told or Sarah gets it. Terrified, will Bethany agree?

Later, while Gail, David, Kylie and Sarah celebrate Callum's downfall, Bethany is overwhelmed with guilt.
Meanwhile, fed up with Carla's self-pity, Nick tells her to get a grip and a row ensues. Nick persuades Aidan that, with his support, Carla can turn the business around and they'll be sitting on a goldmine. Will Nick be able to work his magic on Aidan and save Underworld?
Elsewhere, Liz, Lloyd and Erica share a few bottles of wine and laugh as they compare their car-crash love lives. Liz wonders if Lloyd and Erica might be a good match. Later, Lloyd leaves a message on Andrea's phone admitting how much he misses her.
Also, Tyrone confides in Kevin about Hope's condition. Fiz and Tyrone are grateful for Kevin's support as he calls at Number 9 with some beers.

As Kylie, David, Sarah, Gail and Max gather round Lily and wish her a happy birthday, Bethany broods over the awful lies she has told the police.
Under pressure, Bethany announces that Max was lying about the assault on Jason and that she has given the police an alibi for Callum. David and Kylie are horrified - will the police believe Bethany over Max?

Meanwhile, when Carla leaves Aidan in charge of the factory, Nick suspects that she is heading to the casino. Alya is amused by Aidan's attempts to deal with an irate client. Aidan fills Carla in on his first day at Underworld and tells her that he has moved Alya's desk onto the factory floor.
Elsewhere, Steve lets slip to Lloyd that Liz reckons he and Erica would make a lovely couple. Lloyd admits he likes the idea. As Lloyd and Erica enjoy a drink together, they're suddenly interrupted by the arrival of Andrea. Clocking their intimacy, Andrea storms out again. Lloyd is torn.
Also today, Steve is thrilled when Rover the dog turns up at the pub again.
Finally, Roy does his best to mask his irritation when Cathy leaves crumbs in the butter and soap suds all over the kitchen, while Fiz worries that Hope's tumour might be serious.

Against Eileen's advice, Tony tells the police that he saw Callum hanging around just before Jason was beaten up. He returns from the police station in a foul mood because the police were disbelieving.
Later, Jason regains consciousness and Eileen, Tony and Sean learn the extent of his injuries.

Meanwhile, Carla is underwhelmed when Aidan presents her new company car. Leaving him to deal with a client, she heads off in it to the casino. Michelle returns from Ireland and senses the tension between Carla and Aidan. Later, Michelle, Carla, Aidan and Steve enjoy a family meal at the Bistro, but Aidan delights in winding Robert up by complaining about the food.
Elsewhere, in an attempt to cheer Lloyd up, Liz invites him to spend the evening with her, suggesting that they can watch TV and share a takeaway. Lloyd reluctantly agrees. As Liz and Lloyd compare their failed relationships, Liz gives Lloyd a comforting hug.
Also today, Cathy reluctantly agrees to give art classes at the community centre.
Finally, Tim catches Craig on the phone to Caitlin. Tim then tells Craig that he is going to miss Miley over the next couple of weeks as the Hodges are going on holiday to Canada.

Todd overhears Sean and Billy discussing Jason's condition and how he might need a kidney transplant. Jason remembers being kicked repeatedly and thinks that the voice that he heard was Callum's.
As Callum approaches his car, Tony grabs him and drags him into the ginnel. Tony gives Callum a beating and demands the names of his two accomplices.

Meanwhile, Liz looks shifty as Steve, Michelle and Aidan chat over breakfast. Lloyd tries to creep down the Rovers stairs to make his exit but Steve appears and Lloyd beats a hasty retreat. Steve and Michelle soon realise that Liz is hiding someone upstairs. How will Steve react when a sheepish Lloyd descends down the stairs? And how does Lloyd feel about Liz's belief that they could have a future together?
Elsewhere, Mary cajoles Emily, Craig and Tim into signing up for Cathy's art class. Cathy appears nervous and Roy is sympathetic.
Also, Liz has a change of heart about Rover and so Steve proudly declares himself as the dog's owner.
Finally, Aidan is unimpressed when Carla again leaves him to manage a client meeting alone. He confronts her over her gambling problem, but will Carla listen to his calls for her to seek help?

Liz finds Tony terrorising Callum in the ginnel and orders him to stop, pointing out that he'll be no use to Jason if he ends up in prison. Callum slinks away.
Later, Todd calls at the hospital and offers to donate a kidney to save Jason. Eileen is touched when she overhears Todd - will the family be able to bury the hatchet and move forward?

Meanwhile, Roy finds Cathy at the bus stop and persuades her to return to the art class. Cathy's class proves a huge success and Emily, Tim, Mary and Craig enjoy themselves immensely. Cathy thanks Roy for giving her the confidence to do it. Yasmeen is delighted when Cathy agrees to take some more classes.
Elsewhere, under pressure from Steve, Lloyd invites Liz to dinner at the bistro. Lloyd confesses to Dev that he doesn't want a relationship with Liz, but knows she'll be upset and Steve will be furious if he comes clean. As Lloyd and Liz prepare to leave for their date, Andrea sweeps into the pub and begs him to take her back. Leading Andrea into the back yard, Lloyd admits there's nothing he'd like more than to start again. Will they reconcile?
Also, a guilty Tracy reluctantly agrees to support Robert at Maddie's charity evening at the Bistro. Aidan and Carla put their differences aside, but Michelle is concerned as Carla knocks back the wine. Carla admits to Michelle and Aidan that she blames herself for the deaths of Maddie and Kal.

Coronation Street airs shock scenes tonight (August 24) as Callum Logan secretly drugs his ex-girlfriend Sarah Platt.
Callum decides to take drastic action after the Platts tell him that they're taking Max to the police station to share what he knows about the recent attack on Jason Grimshaw.
Unfortunately, this only gives Callum enough warning to put a counter-plan into action, as he heads to The Rovers and spikes Sarah's drink while she is busy doing a shift behind the bar.
Later, Callum's crony Gemma corners Bethany (Lucy Fallon) and shows her some sinister footage of her mum passed out on the sofa at the Platt house.
