Watched him on interview this morning and he seemed very confused. Either he doesnt interview well he has a hangover or something else. Seen my dad confused like that at the start of his dementia journey. Did anyone else see the interview and what are your thoughts?

Didnt see interview -I dont know about
mental state-but runs marathons and does
other sporting things for charity ( not the
character inED) .
If he seemed confused perhaps he was having
a problem remembering the "party line" on
some of the more ridiculous aspects of the
Disaster storyline-perhaps cant believe what
hes been told to say.!! I could understand that!

I think I've read somewhere else that there's been "paycuts". If that's true, well, perhaps it's only natural he said the things he said.

Yes - that could be a reason Lizann.
That wasnt a storyline I would find
ridiculous tho.People who have been
suddenly bereaved do sometimes have
these experiences and its been done in
Soaps before! Ive been told its comforting
and not a problem unless recurrent.
I was thinking of the Ross scenario- not
the fact hes been "murdered".Thats been
done before with popular characters eg
Carl King - and that was - to me- a real
shock but well done.
Ross's story was just shambolic and, almost
cartoony .- not dramatic.
re Chris Chittell - he is an actor with lines to
learn- so if there was a problem -it would soon
become apparent in his work I would have
thought.

chris made a comment that he didn't see the point of the stunt crash this week as the show has good storylines, he isn't a fan of expensive stunts

Id agree with him especially about this disaster story.
They are mainly interested in ratings and it was
said audience had increased on Wednesday but
dont know if that had continued.??
Another poster mentioned paycuts and if they
are cutting pay to pay for stunts wont be
popular with cast. EE doesnt pay as high as other
soaps and newer members of cast will be on
lower pay anyway- so there could be rumblings
.
I do.like drama but needs to be well done.
Perhaps be better to have good storylines
with interesting characters!
There was so much hype this time and viewers
were caught up in it-but its gone flat !!

I was surprised how Chris was not impressed with the summer disaster storyline. He definitely seems to be suggesting some of the cast not happy with it.

I wonder why not just do a live episode like Eastenders did? That is cheap in terms of cost yet get a lot of publicity. Eastenders got huge ratings with their live episode. The Emmerdale stunt falls flat I think.

alot of the cast weren't involved despite the media hype and trailer
