Jesse is looking forward to a short break away surfing with his friends, where he'll introduce Adele for the first time. Suddenly, events take a turn when Adele faints. It's soon revealed that she is pregnant, which shocks Jesse. He has no time to process the pregnancy as Guy offers him the job of a lifetime - a three month fellowship as his right-hand man. Jesse leaves Guy hanging for an answer.

Later, Guy pushes Jesse for an answer on the job offer, but Jesse insists that he needs more time - especially when Guy tells him that the fellowship is in the US. Overhearing, Adele is suitably annoyed, asking whether he wants their baby or not. Things don't improve when Adele is served some heartbreaking news - is everything as it seems?

Meanwhile, Fletch is adamant that he will give Evie a great birthday, even though he is strapped for cash. However, what he needs to understand is that she doesn't care for monetary things and simply misses her deceased mum.

Elsewhere, Serena is determined to take the next step with Angus, but realises that maybe he's just not the right guy for her when they disagree on a patient's case.

Another familiar face pops into Holby City next week as former EastEnders star Gillian Wright makes a guest appearance.

The actress will be seen in the role of Lydia Rathbone, who arrives in the hospital as a troublesome patient.

Lydia already knows Holby's popular nurse Adrian 'Fletch' Fletcher (Alex Walkinshaw), as she used to teach his daughter Evie.

When Lydia is admitted to the hospital after falling into a river, she is instantly cold towards Fletch as she points out his past failings as a father.

Despite Lydia's protests that she doesn't want to be treated by Fletch, he keeps a close eye on her after noticing a nasty gash on her arm.

Evie also soon turns up on the ward for an unexpected visit and is thrilled to be reunited with her old teacher. However, when Evie asks why she left the school so suddenly and Lydia skirts round the subject, it's clear that she may be hiding something.

Wright is best known for her role as Jean Slater on EastEnders and will be back on the Walford soap for a guest stint this summer.

Holby City airs Wright's appearance on Tuesday, June 2 at 8pm on BBC One.
