Round-up:

Debbie, Pete and Finn track Ross down to the venue for the bare-knuckle fight and are shocked to learn that Zak has pawned all Lisa’s jewellery to bet on him winning. As the fight gets under way, it looks as if Ross is getting a pasting, but then Debbie notices an exchange between him and Charlie and realises that there is more going on than meets the eye. Betty’s farewell party is being held in the Woolpack but the guest of honour seems to have gone missing. Concern grows as the villagers wonder if her new mystery man is just after her money – after all, she has only just met him. Laurel eventually finds her and Betty sails out of Emmerdale in an enormous limo, leaving everyone astounded. Bob is giving Brenda the silent treatment over her attitude to Carly. Brenda relents when Carly tells her that her grandad has put up the money to buy the shop – but is David prepared to sell? To stop Andy thinking that she is after him, Bernice invents an imaginary boyfriend. Jai has Rachel right where he wants her and when he finds out about Archie’s accident he threatens her with court. A scuffle ensues when the police arrive and Rachel is arrested for pushing one of the officers. Vanessa has the morning sickness and Paddy realises the truth. Concerned that the news is spreading, Vanessa and Kirin decide to tell Rakesh everything. Rakesh is furious and tells Vanessa that he is not having his son’s life ruined so early on and insists that she have a termination. After Vanessa decides that it is time she found out who the father is, all hell breaks loose.

Ross is about to fight. Debbie explains to Pete and Finn that he's in trouble, urging them to help her find him. They soon track down Ross at the venue preparing for his big fight, seemingly determined to go ahead. Debbie and Cain are shocked to learn that Zak has pawned all of Lisa's jewellery to bet on Ross winning.

As the fight ensues it makes for uncomfortable viewing, but when Debbie witnesses an exchange between Ross and Charlie, she realises there is more riding on this than meets the eye. Will Debbie get through to Ross? And what will Pete make of Debbie's strong concern for his brother?

Later, Charlie's bouncers sweep Ross away and soon afterwards gunshots are heard…

Meanwhile, it's time for Betty's "Going Away" party and the pub is decked out especially for her, but everybody is worried as she has gone AWOL. Concerns grow that perhaps her new mystery fancy man might be out to get her money. Eventually, Laurel finds Betty and the pair share some heartfelt words. Later, everyone heads outside the pub as Betty returns to say her goodbyes. In true Betty style, she bids farewell to the village, leaving her friends and family gobsmacked as she is driven away in an enormous limousine.

Elsewhere, Bob gives Brenda the silent treatment over both Carly and the shop, and Brenda is worried that she has overstepped the mark. Later Bob gives Carly hope, suggesting he could invest. Carly is dubious, knowing Brenda will not be keen. Will Bob find a way to get around the Brenda hurdle?

Also today, Adam tells Victoria that he wants to move in with her and they resolve their differences.

Finally, Laurel has been to her first AA meeting and is grateful for Ashley's support. Harriet agrees to Laurel staying until she finds somewhere else. Laurel hides her upset when a scared Arthur hurries away after seeing her.

With Ruby due back tomorrow, Sam and Rachel decide to make the most of their last day alone together.

The couple's happy day takes a turn for the worse when Archie has an accident and needs to go to hospital. The doctor offers reassurance to Rachel, but when Sam is alone with the doctor, Sam makes a grim discovery which puts his whole relationship into question…

Meanwhile, Pete struggles with his jealousy over Ross as Debbie tries to assure him that he is all she wants. As Pete remains uncertain, Debbie insists that there is no point in them being together if he doesn't trust her. At the garage, Pete confronts Cain over Debbie. Ross is convinced there is more to it, but Cain puts forward a convincing case to persuade Pete otherwise. Can Pete find a way to prove his trust in Debbie once and for all?

Elsewhere, with Vanessa suffering morning sickness, Paddy soon puts two and two together and realises she is pregnant. Concerned the news is spreading, Vanessa and Kirin decide it's time to face the music and tell Rakesh. How will he react?

Also today, Carly announces that her grandad has lent her the money for the shop, and Bob covers his guilt over her lie when Brenda is relieved that it wasn't him who lent the money. Brenda thinks David should consider Carly's offer and David agrees to listen. Will Bob and Carly's secret set-up come good?

Finally, Leyla puts on a brave face as she suggests to Jacob that they should plan some fun things together before he leaves, while Carly and Ross enjoy each other's company.

Sam is evasive when Lisa asks if he and Rachel have split. Rachel is scared to tell Jai about Archie's accident but he later finds out from Lisa.

Later, Rachel is horrified when Jai threatens her with court. Rachel explains herself, hoping that she has done enough to reassure him. Jai purposely winds Rachel up and soon a fracas ensues once again. This has Rachel exactly where Jai wants her - in trouble.

Meanwhile, Vanessa tells Kirin about Rakesh wanting her to have a termination. Rakesh is irked to be told they've decided to have the baby no matter what. Carly and Leyla are surprised that Vanessa is pregnant and Leyla begins to wonder who the baby's dad is.

Later, Adam admits to Moira that he had a thing with Vanessa. Could Adam be the father of Vanessa's baby?

Adam admits to Aaron that Moira knows about the baby. Moira tells Cain what is going on and warns Adam that the truth will come out if the baby is his. Vanessa is taken aback when Moira threatens her subtly, urging her to come clean over the baby or she will. A scared Vanessa orders a private DNA test and she and Adam later sit apprehensively together as the nurse arrives.

At the same time, Kirin is back from college early. With Vanessa and Adam busy getting a test, will their one-night stand now be exposed?

Meanwhile, Rishi is annoyed at Jai's games when the police arrive regarding Rachel's 'assault'. Jai enjoys telling them about Rachel's violent temper. Sam and Rachel make up, but suddenly the police arrive and she is arrested when she pushes an officer. She pleads with Sam not to let Jai take Archie. Has Jai's plan worked?

Elsewhere, Alicia discovers that Paul wants them to move to Portugal sooner and she dreads telling Leyla. Leyla is devastated and pleads for them to stay, but will Alicia listen?

Also today, Andy thinks Bernice is hitting on him when she suggests they meet for a drink, so she lies that she has a boyfriend and Andy agrees to see her later.

Finally, Cain tries to console Noah after Charity has said that she doesn't want him visiting again.

Vanessa sends Adam upstairs as she finally lets Kirin in, but Kirin can tell something is wrong when he spots the nurse. Vanessa tries to cover, but Adam's phone gives his presence away and Kirin finds Adam upstairs. Kirin is furious when Vanessa makes the admission and vows to kill Adam.

Later, as Adam prepares to tell Victoria the truth, Kirin storms in…

Meanwhile, Rishi is shocked to find that Rachel has been arrested and Jai now has Archie. Sam fails to plead Rachel's case, but is impressed when Rishi arrives and fights his corner. Appalled at his son's behaviour, Rishi is determined to give Jai some home truths.

Elsewhere, Alicia is furious when Leyla tries to change Jacob's mind about Portugal. Later, a down-in-the-dumps Leyla offloads to Jai and before too long it leads to something else! There is clearly still an attraction between them as they leave their drinks and head home.

Also today, Bernice is under pressure as Andy asks about her new boyfriend. She is trapped when Diane suggests she should invite him to the pub.

Are doctors allowed to make comments to someone who isn't even the parent of the patient?

I think they do if there is a close link, as Sam is Rachel's partner, I assume the doctor treats him as he would do a husband
