I hope Lindas accident is not so bad -she's
on life support and thats whats Mick decision
is about! Or about losing baby!

And is the start of re- branding of Shirley
as Mother Love starting.( as foretold by
Dazzle in "Rant" post!!)

Probably give Dean an extension while
the accident takes forefront - which
is right in a way but pushes rape storyline
which started well - further into background.

Could do with Pollyanna to put hopeful
spin on this one!

I had assumed thats what u intended.
The only point in Linda not surviving would
be that it might seem.easier to rehabiliate
Dean - which would be a travesty!!

I would nearly say the same about Shirley too

So would I - but I think soap bosses think she
is wonderful and has lots of fans- which she
may have?? I dont know if they are still as
devoted after her recent behaviour?

One of the reasons given for expanding carters
was to make her place in square more secure!!

Im sure they will write a couple of scenes that
they think will put her in better light and all
else will forgotten - they assume..

I was always a fan of Shirley but her decisions of late and her pointless feud with Mick really makes me detest her

Coming up on EastEnders, Linda Carter will go into labour early after falling down the stairs at the Queen Vic.

Linda's world will crumble after the accident, which leaves her fearing for the safety of her unborn baby.

The latest trouble for the Carters kicks off when Linda (Kellie Bright) has a heated conversation with her partner Mick over their future, admitting that his current attitude is dragging her down.

Linda tells Mick (Danny Dyer) that he needs to move on from the anger he feels over Dean and Shirley, but she is left upset when he responds by storming out.

As Linda goes to follow Mick, she falls down the stairs and is left panic-stricken when she wakes up and is unable to find him.

As Mick finally arrives, everyone is relieved to hear the baby's heartbeat and Linda and Mick are united as she finally gives birth. But with Linda still unsure over the baby's father, could there be more trouble to come?

The worrying situation escalates as Linda's waters break, but Sonia rushes over after noticing the commotion. Sonia immediately springs into action, driving Linda to the hospital and encouraging Carol to find Mick.

When Mick finally makes it to the hospital, it's just as the doctors have finally found the baby's heartbeat. As Linda enters the final stages of labour, she is united with Mick once again and they both apologise over their recent argument. Not long afterwards, Linda gives birth to a healthy baby.

Later, Dean attempts to join the family at the hospital but is stopped by Shirley. Dean is reluctant to back down, as he is convinced that the baby is his and is worried about the child's premature arrival. He ends up defying Shirley's wishes by sneaking off to the baby care unit, where he sees Linda's child.

Meanwhile, Vincent questions Ronnie about what he knows, but she soon realises that he has the wrong end of the stick. Ronnie once again seeks help from Phil, but he refuses to get involved.

Dot's trial continues and Ronnie decides to attend court in support of Charlie, who is giving evidence today. Everyone is relieved to hear that the missing witness still hasn't been found, but it's not long before the trial takes another unexpected turn.

Later, when Charlie gives his evidence, a distraught Dot can't help interrupting. Dot reminds the judge that she is the one on trial rather than Nick, but her behaviour doesn't go down well and she is ordered to keep quiet in court since she has opted not to give evidence herself. Deciding to give her side of the story after all, Dot bravely enters the witness box - but it soon becomes clear that she may have made a mistake when the prosecution turns her own evidence against her...

Meanwhile, Lee is struggling to be upbeat about the baby since they still don't know who the father is. Lee decides not to go to the hospital as he can't cope with the situation, but Mick pulls him aside and assures him that the baby is a Carter. Although Mick may not be so sure of this deep down, his words are enough to convince Lee to head off to the hospital with Nancy and Whitney.

Elsewhere, Shirley is concerned when Dean reveals that he has seen the baby and is convinced that he is the real father. Shirley decides that she wants to see the baby for herself, but when Mick refuses, she goes off to the hospital with Dean and Buster regardless. Mick is unimpressed and orders Dean to leave, but Shirley insists that they need to do a DNA test for everyone's sake.

Also today, Stacey vengefully throws a coffee at the window of Blades as Dean has given her a nasty job reference.

The final day of Dot's trial has arrived and the tense atmosphere leads to Charlie and Fatboy clashing as they blame each other about the mess that Dot is in. Charlie even attempts a last-minute plan by telling Keeble that he murdered Nick, but she isn't fooled so easily and calls his bluff.

Later, Charlie urges Dot's loved ones to stay strong as they all await the verdict. When they are all called back into court, will Dot be found guilty or not guilty of murder?

Meanwhile, Mick assures Linda that they don't need to do a paternity test as the baby's DNA isn't important, but Shirley later remains adamant that the test needs to be done when she catches up with Mick at The Vic. Matters become even more complicated when Linda calls Mick in a panic, revealing that Dean has just arrived at the hospital. Later, Mick talks to a nurse at the hospital and hears of an easy way to discover the baby's paternity. Mick decides to have the blood group confirmed despite Linda's reluctance, but what will the result say?

Elsewhere, Fatima arrives back on Albert Square and declares that she has found a man for Shabnam. Shabnam prepares to meet the guy, Asim, and tells Masood that this is her best option since Kush is so reluctant to commit. However, Shabnam gets second thoughts when she reads a text from Kush.

EastEnders landlord Mick Carter will agree to find out the paternity of Linda's baby next week after she gives birth early.

Mick (Danny Dyer) will initially be reluctant to discover the paternity of the newborn due to the instant bond he feels, but will soon realise that the truth needs to be discovered.

Scenes airing earlier in the week will see Mick bond with the baby as he assures Linda (Kellie Bright) that they don't need to do a paternity test because DNA isn't important.

However, Shirley has other ideas and is adamant that they do a DNA test following a conversation with Dean, who strongly believes the baby is his.

After she confronts Mick over his decision, it looks as if her words are getting through to him when they are interrupted by a call from Linda to say Dean has arrived at the hospital.

After talking to the nurse at the hospital, Mick realises there's a way to discover the baby's paternity, and despite Linda's reluctance, decides to find out his blood group. What will the results say?

Lee will also find himself struggling in the wake of Linda's birth next week as he finds it hard to come to terms with having a new sibling and not knowing who the father is.

After receiving a video from Linda, Lee tells Nancy and Whitney that he is not going to the hospital to visit them.

When Mick overhears the conversation, he pulls Lee aside and the pair open up about their feelings.

As Lee reveals his fears about the baby being Dean's, Mick assures him that the baby is a Carter regardless, but does Mick believe his own words?

Dean Wicks continues to pose a big threat to the Carter family's happiness in EastEnders tonight (May 14).

Confiding in his parents Shirley and Buster, Dean (Matt Di Angelo) reveals that he has seen Linda's newborn son at the hospital and is totally convinced that he is the father.

Dean's theory further fuels the Carter clan's ongoing feud as Shirley continues to support him, keen to keep his best interests at heart.

When Shirley insists that a paternity test needs to be done to resolve the matter once and for all, how will Mick and Linda react to her suggestion?
