Thursday (2)

Stacey notices the tension between Mo and Kat, but neither of them will say what has happened. Soon afterwards at the market, Kat asks Alfie to help on the stall again, causing Mo to snap. Kat gets defensive and tells Mo to keep her nose out, before inviting Alfie out for a drink at The Vic later, telling him that she needs to talk. Alfie is delighted, jumping to the conclusion that she wants to get back together.

As Kat gets ready for the evening, Mo continues to interfere so Kat kicks her out of the room. Sensing that something is wrong, Stacey becomes increasingly curious and wants to know what is going on.

Later at the pub, Kat is furious and storms off the toilets when she realises that Alfie thinks they are getting back together. When Kat re-emerges again, Alfie is shocked to see that she has dolled herself up. He realises something is wrong and follows Kat outside, urging her to confide in him. However, Alfie is left stunned when Kat drops a bombshell…

When Donna doesn't show up for work one morning, Stacey Branning (Lacey Turner) and Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) take advantage of the situation by setting up an extra stall on her pitch.

Donna isn't absent for long, though, and when she returns she informs Stacey and Kat that she is moving onto the Square.

The news that Donna will soon be in close proximity gives Pam Coker (Lin Blakley) food for thought, as she thinks it's a shame that Donna and Kat still don't get along.

Interfering Pam comes up with a plan to bring Kat and Donna closer together, but they see right through it and hatch a counter-scheme by pretending to be best friends.

Pam is shocked to see the pair on such good terms until she realises they know the truth!

EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, January 6 at 7.30pm and Wednesday, January 7 at 8.30pm on BBC One.

The Mitchell clan receive another surprise on EastEnders next week when they learn that Ben has been given the sole responsibility of looking after the family businesses.

The news is announced as Phil (Steve McFadden) remains behind bars, having been wrongly charged with attempted murder following the car crash on Albert Square.

As Sharon (Letitia Dean) is devastated to discover that their usually supportive lawyer Ritchie won't help them with the case, she is later dealt a bigger blow when she learns that Phil has given power of attorney to Ben (Harry Reid).

Ben storms out after overhearing Sharon's furious reaction, but Billy encourages him to make up with her.

Failing to take Billy's advice, Ben returns and uses the opportunity to assert his power, telling Sharon that he is running things now.

EastEnders villain Nick Cotton shows his softer side next week as he desperately tries to encourage Charlie to acknowledge his newborn son.

Upcoming episodes see Charlie (Declan Bennett) ignore his fatherly responsibilities as he is so traumatised by the recent car crash, which has left his new wife Ronnie in a coma.

After Charlie makes it clear that he can't look after the baby, he leaves the new arrival in the care of Ronnie's sister Roxy.

Although everyone tries to make Charlie see sense, there seems to be no reasoning with him. Feeling guilty after causing the crash, Nick (John Altman) eventually decides to step in with a drastic plan of his own.

Taking the baby from Roxy, Nick confronts Charlie with his son in the hope that he can help the pair bond. However, with Charlie still focused on Ronnie's condition, will he be able to connect with his child?
