Monday

When Michelle reminds Steve that they're taking Amy to the panto this afternoon, he does his best to appear enthusiastic. However, Liz can see that Steve's heart isn't in it and while nobody is looking, he slinks off back to bed.

Later, Eileen and Michael are concerned to discover that they haven't been paid. When they can't get hold of Steve, Andrea phones Lloyd in Spain, who assures her that it must be a bank glitch and gives her the account details. As Andrea accesses the Streetcars bank account online, she is horrified to see that the business is £10,000 overdrawn!

Meanwhile, Roy is interviewed by the police. Full of self-loathing, he describes how he thought Gary was one of the teenagers who has been hounding him. He admits that he hit Gary repeatedly with a cricket bat and deserves to be punished.

In the hospital, Anna is shocked by the extent of Gary's bruises and is further appalled when he confesses to trying to steal from the café till. In an attempt to protect Roy, Gary lies to the police, telling them that Roy only hit him once. Despite this, the police officer is sceptical - will Roy pay the price for his unreasonable force?

Elsewhere, Leanne returns to the Bistro as manager. When 'Gavin' suggests they should put some modern art on the walls, Leanne is impressed and 'Gavin' is pleased to have won her over. But when Leanne demands a reference from 'Gavin's previous employer and his national insurance number, he panics.

Also, Norris shows Ken, Rita and Emily his new satellite map on his tablet. As he zooms in on Coronation Street, they notice a cloud of strange white smoke outside Number 1. Having checked the date the photo was taken - the day Blanche died - Norris wonders if the white apparition is Blanche's ghost!

Finally, Nick treats Erica to a Spanish lunch in the Bistro, followed by a Spanish siesta in his flat.

Monday (2)

Eileen, Michael and Andrea study the Streetcars bank account, flabbergasted by Steve's apparent spending spree with the firm's money. In his bedroom, Steve listens to his messages, knowing he has let Amy down over the panto and that his financial mess has finally caught up with him.

Later, Liz finds Steve hiding in his bedroom and demands to know what's going on. Steve drags himself downstairs and tries to bluff his way out, telling Eileen and Andrea that it's just a ****-up at the bank and he'll sort it out. However, when Eileen and Andrea start listing all of the transactions Steve has made on the account, he feels the pressure building. How will he respond?

Meanwhile, Roy admits to Anna how he repeatedly hit Gary with the cricket bat, even as he tried to escape. Shocked, can Anna forgive Roy?

Elsewhere, Kal breaks the news to Alya that Gary is in hospital after trying to break into the café. He warns her that Gary is nothing but trouble. Will Alya heed her family's warning to stay away from Gary, or are her feelings too strong?

Also, 'Gavin' steals the real Gavin's national insurance details and hands them to Leanne. Will he get away with his deception?

Finally, Erica explains to Nick that she'll no longer be returning to Spain as she has to stay and look after her mother. How will Nick react to her news?

Wednesday

It's New Year's Eve on the Street. Ken offers to help Roy clean the graffiti off the café windows, but Roy insists that he'd rather be alone. Gary arrives back from hospital and calls in at the café to see Roy. Gary tells Roy how sorry he is for breaking into the café and how he deserves to be punished. Roy feels guiltier than ever.

Later, Alya calls on Gary and wishes him a happy new year and a new beginning. Will the couple reconcile?

Meanwhile, realising that Michael has been evicted from his flat after not receiving his Streetcars wages, David allows him to move into Number 8 until he sorts himself out.

Elsewhere, worried about Steve's financial predicament, Liz tells him that he can borrow the funds from the Rovers account to pay his staff. Steve is grateful, but as he plucks up the courage to present Michelle with the bracelet he bought her, he overhears her telling Tony how Steve is her past and she is looking to the future now. How will Steve react to what he has heard?

Also today, Erica confides in Liz that she only ever wanted a holiday fling with Nick and she is worried that he expects more. But how does Nick really feel about Erica?

Finally, Steph texts Katy, telling her how cute 'Gavin' is and how she is hoping for a New Year's Eve snog. Steph is mortified to realise she has accidentally sent the text to 'Gavin' and grabs his phone to delete the message. Snatching his phone back, how will 'Gavin' respond?

Friday

David takes Max to the doctors for his ADHD check-up. Max is upset when Kylie doesn't show up. Worried about Kylie - who is refusing to take her calls - Eva tells David that she is going to pay the Dog & Gun a visit in the hopes of finding her and reckons he should go with her.

As Eva and David search the Dog & Gun for Kylie, they come face-to-face with Callum and Macca. Launching himself at Callum, David demands to know where his wife is.

Meanwhile, as the teenage thugs approach the café, Yasmeen is forced to wade in and send them packing. Later, Chesney wishes Roy luck as Tyrone drives him to his court hearing. Will he pay the price for his unreasonable force?

Elsewhere, Alya admires the basque Sinead has made for Beth and slips it into her bag to take to a wedding fair that afternoon. When a sheepish Alya arrives back, she is forced to admit that she took it and pulls out the basque, revealing a huge red wine stain on the front. Sinead is devastated.

Also, Luke invites Maria round for dinner. Maria plays hard to get until Audrey steps in and tells Luke that she'll go out with him if Maria won't. Amused, will Maria let her guard down?

Finally, Alya and Gary announce to Yasmeen and Kal that they're seeing each other again. How will Alya's family react?

Friday (2)

David's rage turns to devastation when Callum coolly informs him that that he and Kylie are back together. Outside the Dog & Gun, David collars Macca and offers him cash to take him to Callum's flat to find Kylie.

Macca soon leads David and Eva to Callum's, where they lie in wait for Kylie. An impatient David kicks in the door of the flat, searching for evidence of Kylie - but they're disturbed when Macca returns with Callum. Menacing Callum warns David that if he doesn't stay away, he and Kylie may take Max to live with them. How will David react to Callum's threats?

Meanwhile, Roy returns from court feeling wretched, believing he got off lightly. He calls on Mary at the motor home but she makes it clear that she is disappointed he resorted to violence. Roy leaves, saddened.

Elsewhere, Alya is guilt-ridden as a gutted Sinead surveys Beth's basque. Julie suggests they use soda water to remove the stain. As the girls set about their rescue mission, Sinead puts Beth off when she asks to see her basque.

Also, with Tyrone out, Luke cooks for Maria at Number 9. When Tyrone arrives home early, Luke is frustrated as he is forced to join them for dinner. Luke hopes for another date, but will Maria commit?

Finally, as she prepares to leave, Erica is pleased to learn from Leanne that Nick feels the same as her and only wanted a fling. But when a mischievous Erica declares deep feelings for him, will he realise it's an act?

Over on Coronation Street, Steve McDonald has some explaining to do when his erratic behaviour leaves Streetcars in crisis.

Steve (Simon Gregson) spends the festive season splashing the cash as he aims to give his daughter Amy the best Christmas ever, as well as financing the ongoing work on his kit car.

Everyone is baffled over where Steve could be getting the money from, but all becomes clear when the cab firm suddenly faces a financial nightmare.

When Eileen Grimshaw and Michael Rodwell discover that they haven't been paid, Andrea Beckett contacts Lloyd Mullaney in Spain and he gives her the company's bank details so she can investigate.

Lloyd assumes that it must be a bank glitch, but when Andrea accesses the account online, she is horrified to find that the business is actually £10,000 overdrawn.

Liz, Eileen and Andrea are all quick to confront Steve and he is unable to defend himself when they list various transactions that he has made using the company account. How will Steve explain himself?

I don't understand why he does not have money when he has two businesses. Spending a few grand or more should not be a difficulty for a business man. They are on going businesses not ones that are in trouble otherwise I would understand. Hes normally too busy to spend any of it anyway. But this story does not make sense to me.

Depends on how good the businesses are doing ... always amazes me how the Rovers can support the wages for Steve, Liz, Michelle, Sean, Eva on top of water, electricity etc ....lots of beers and hotpots need to be sold .. and the same would apply to the taxi business .. Lloyd, Eileen, Michael, Fat Brenda and the taxi drivers we never see .....

I don't know, never heard it being discussed on the show but even just wages for the office staff would be a fair bit, I imagine

I think so, Steve got quite a good exam result which amazed Liz and Michelle - not heard either mentioning more classes

When my husband was a taxi driver he had to pay them weekly for the radio. Years ago i think it was about £70 weekly. The rovers is always busy. Not sure about the cab office. They never mention they are not doing well. What happened to Dev the bisinessman with all of his shops. He seems to only have one now. Just going by my friends who have local shops they seem to be doing well. Living in cash houses no mortagages etc. plenty of holidays. It depends if the business has a lot of goodwill which the Rovers does.
