View Full Version : EastEnders Spoilers Christmas Week 2014
Secrets and lies have a habit of coming out in Walford, and this Christmas is no exception.
Since the Carters arrived in the square, the family have settled in to The Queen Victoria, but although Mick may think that everything is running smoothly for his family, he is unaware that a few of them are harbouring dark secrets of their own. Linda has been through the most traumatic experience of her life, raped by Mick's brother Dean. Worried what the truth will do to Mick and the repercussions it will have on their family, Linda has kept it to herself... But for how long?
Since Mick was born, Shirley has been burdened with the secret that she is not Mick's sister but his mother. A secret she has been desperate to keep hidden. But with all the family gathered for Christmas and a surprise appearance from Shirley's long lost mother Sylvie, will Shirley's shameful secret stay buried?
As Mick is pulling out all the stops to make the Carter family's first Christmas in The Queen Victoria perfect, it seems as though the rest of the family are desperately trying to keep their secrets, but with ticking time bomb Dean lurking, the Carters are set to explode.
Confirmed for BBC One on 25 December at 9.00pm to 10.05pm
Danny Dyer has hinted that Mick Carter will go "nuclear" during the upcoming rape reveal on EastEnders.
Mick will find out that his wife Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) was sexually assaulted by Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) as part of an explosive Christmas storyline.

Dyer told The Radio Times that viewers can expect an incredibly tense episode when the truth comes out.
He said: "The audience will know that the bomb is going to go off – but they'll be asking themselves: 'How big is that bomb going to be?' And, let me tell you, it's nuclear."
Dyer added that upcoming scenes will allow him to show "every bit of range" that he has as an actor.
"I'll put the question out there: how would you react if someone you loved was raped in your home by a person you'd been looking in the eye for the past three months?" he said.
"Whether you're a violent man or avoid violence at all costs, you are going to go insane.
"And I take insanity to a new level. Justice is served. Beautifully."
Former EastEnders couple Ian and Jane Beale will reunite this Christmas.
The pair are currently living under the same roof again as friends, but as the festive season arrives on Albert Square, it becomes clear that Jane (Laurie Brett) still holds a torch for her ex.
Jane gives into her feelings when she finds out that Ian (Adam Woodyatt) has carried out an act of kindness and responds by spontaneously kissing him.
Still feeling torn afterwards, Jane seeks some advice from her ex Masood Ahmed as she isn't quite sure whether Ian can genuinely change his ways after their past problems.
When Masood offers some positive advice, it spurs Jane on to share another kiss with Ian under the mistletoe and they end up sleeping together.
While Jane doesn't regret her night with Ian, she makes it clear the next morning that she doesn't want anyone to know just yet. Despite this, Ian is on cloud nine and accidentally lets the news slip to Alfie Moon (Shane Richie), who immediately spreads the gossip all around the Square.
Jane isn't happy when she learns that everyone knows the truth, but an apologetic Alfie urges her not to be too harsh with Ian - pointing out that it proves how proud he must be to have her back. Will Jane take these words on board and make a fresh start with Ian?

When Stacey goes upstairs to talk to Linda, she starts to confide in her about her own past ordeal. Affected by her words, Linda can only nod which confirms Stacey's suspicions that Dean raped her…
Meanwhile, Emma meets up with Bryant after he tells her that he has some new information to share with her. There is also an added distraction when Johnny makes an announcement that shocks his family. However, Linda eventually accepts that Mick does need to know the truth, so she informs Stacey that she is going to tell him.
At the same time, Dean is confused after being dumped by Stacey as he doesn't know what the reason is, but all becomes clear when he finds out that she has grown close to Linda. Wanting to regain control, Dean storms over to The Vic and orders Linda to stop 'lying' about him. Dean wants Linda to convince Stacey to give him another chance, but they are interrupted by Lee who wants to know what's going on. Dean then drops a bombshell in front of Lee…
Meanwhile, Emma shows Lauren the video footage that she has been given, leaving her shocked.
Elsewhere, Fatboy challenges Kush to kiss Shabnam by the end of the day. Kush later learns that Shabnam isn't allowing Tamwar and Masood to have a Christmas tree, so he decides to find a way to change her mind about embracing the spirit of the season.
Also today, Nick and Yvonne urge Dot not to tell Charlie that she caught them rekindling their romance. Yvonne insists that Nick will be leaving soon, so Charlie doesn't need to know.
Finally, Jane seeks some advice from Masood following her kiss with Ian. She isn't sure whether Ian can genuinely change, but Masood's view of the situation spurs her on to kiss Ian under the mistletoe.

Dean is further disappointed when Stacey orders him to stay away from her and Lily. He once again storms over to The Vic and confronts Linda, accusing her of 'lying' and warning that Mick will find out the truth if she doesn't retract her claims to Stacey. Linda agrees on the condition that Dean stays away from the Carter family and the pub from now on. Will their deal go ahead?

Linda and Mick Carter
As Christmas Eve arrives on Albert Square, Mick (Danny Dyer) decides that it's time to start planning a wedding and resolves to pop the question to Linda the following day.
The Vic's boss only shares his intentions with his 'nephew' Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), still blissfully unaware that Dean raped Linda in October.
On Christmas Day itself, Mick also surprises the Carter family by bringing Shirley and Tina's mother Sylvie Carter (Linda Marlowe) along to dinner at the pub, which doesn't go down well with either Shirley or Aunt Babe.
Despite the tension sparked by his actions, Mick concentrates on making the final preparations for his proposal - not realising that his family are about to face the Christmas from hell.
With certain elements of the Christmas episode still shrouded in mystery, viewers will have to wait and see whether Linda's rape is revealed on December 25.
Fans are also on tenterhooks to find out whether Shirley being Mick's real mother is also exposed in the festive special.
A show insider teased: "The day takes a turn for the worse when a drunken Dean arrives and threatens to drop a bombshell.
"As Christmas continues for the Carters, secrets and lies are finally revealed and all hell breaks loose at the Queen Vic as Mick learns the truth. But how does he find out, what exactly does he know and how will he react? Whatever the answers, life for the Carters is about to explode."

On Christmas Day itself, Cindy (Mimi Keene) is surprised to spot a suspicious present among the other gifts underneath the Beales' tree.
As the package is addressed to Beth, Cindy decides to open it herself and is horrified to find an eerie gift inside.
The unwelcome discovery leads to a sombre atmosphere among the Beales as they try to figure out who on earth would put this gift under the tree and why. Have the Beales been sent a message from Lucy's killer?

If this is the case shame on Mick if he were to believe Dean over Linda.....
Ian is a very manipulative guy knows just when to turn on the pressure particularly with Bobby in the middle of the pair.

I agree, I'll be astonished if he believes Dean over Linda, especially as Mick and Dean don't get on. The writers will do everything possible to ramp up the drama of course.
Jane is otherwise a strong women but she has a vulnerability for Ian for some strange reason.

Most likely Emma. Reckon whoever killed Lucy, must be someone Emma knows quite well as she has their number and seems fairly confident in talking to them as she arranges to meet them in a quite informal way. She also doesnt have too many friends/well known on the square.
I think its Max - she calls the murderer before the police because of she loves him is my theory.
Of course if she does die, hope police look at who she has called recently.
The car on the film clip looks to be blue or green in colour on still frame . Apart from Phil's can't think who owns a similar car?
There is a usb stik that Lauren obtains with more info about the murder. By the New Year the number of suspects is due to reduce significantly.:hmm:

It's got to be Emma who gets killed. The trailers show her saying she knows who killed Lucy, as that's not being revealed till February, QED. (Possibly....:hmm:)

Good logic Dan.The car in the clip could belong to D.I. Keeble or be a police pool car she and Emma use. The plot is due to widen involving Emma, Lauren , Whitney and Lee before Emma receives the mystery package ...:hmm:

It seems to me it must be someone she's emotionally involved with too, because surely otherwise she'd be straight on the phone to the police? If that's the case, it narrows the list of suspects right down - to Max, Lauren and Abi I'd say.
jane proposes to ian what an idiot what happened to strong jane
I much rather see Jane with Masood than Ian again ...
There are happier times ahead for Ian Beale on EastEnders this Christmas when his ex-wife Jane proposes to him.
Jane decides to pop the question to Ian (Adam Woodyatt) during the Walford Community Choir concert, but her spontaneous act of romance comes after a troubling day for the pair.
After spending the night with Ian, Jane (Laurie Brett) is riddled with doubts over whether he can genuinely change his ways. However, after some advice from Alfie Moon and her ex Masood Ahmed, she makes a decision.
When the choir begin their Christmas concert in the Square, Ian is surprised when Jane gets up on stage and starts singing 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'.
As the song continues and the choir join in, Jane gets down on one knee and proposes to Ian. Will he accept?

Mick arrives with Sylvie for Christmas
Viewers were introduced to Shirley's mother Sylvie, played by Linda Marlowe, last week after she paid a brief visit to Walford.
Wanting to protect the secret about Mick's true parentage, both Shirley (Linda Henry) and Aunt Babe (Annette Badland) are keen to keep Sylvie at arm's length, but Mick is determined to get to know the woman he believes is his mother.
When Mick convinces a reluctant Aunt Babe and Shirley to let him meet Sylvie for lunch, he immediately warms to her and gives her a heartfelt Christmas present. However, as Aunt Babe gets her ready to leave, Sylvie tells Mick that she wants to spend Christmas with him.
On Christmas Day, Shirley and Aunt Babe are horrified to see that Mick has granted Sylvie's request and brought her for dinner. How will the family react? And could Shirley's secret finally be revealed?

Marlowe said previously: "I don't think the family particularly want her there but Sylvie cajoles Mick into inviting her because he has great sympathy for her. In the previous scenes she has literally said, 'Please, I want to be with you at Christmas'.
"I think the family are not that thrilled to see Sylvie because they're worried for different reasons as to what might happen. There are so many different things that come out at Christmas - it's a complete minefield!"

I'm disappointed that Dean won't go to prison for the rape, but I suppose it is more realistic that way. I don't condone violence one bit but I'd make an exception for Dean. He needs a lot more than a good slapping, Glen!! I'd say Mick'll batter him to within an inch of his life!

Danny Dyer has praised EastEnders' writers for the episodes in which Mick Carter finally learns of his partner Linda's rape ordeal
Dyer's character Mick will feature in his most explosive scenes yet this Christmas, as the truth comes out about Dean Wicks's attack on Linda.
Discussing the harrowing scenes, Dyer believes that Mick's reaction to the discovery is very realistic.
He told All About Soap: "I was excited about these episodes because I knew this was when Mick would find out about Dean raping Linda, but I didn't know how it would happen.
"A lot of Christmas is about Mick, how he discovers the truth and how he deals with it. It's a lot to take on board, but the way he reacts is so well-written and believable. Any human would react in the same way."
Dyer believes that viewers will be very satisfied with the Christmas Day episode, and heaped praise onto Matt Di Angelo and Kellie Bright for their challenging scenes.
He said: "[Viewers] are dying for it to come out because what Dean did to Linda was horrific and he can't get away with it - he deserves to be arrested.
"How dare he walk around and go into the pub knowing what he has done to that poor woman. I think Matt has been playing it right, and it's been a tough job to stretch out for three months.
"Kellie has really shone too and shown what she can do. They are both amazing."
Dean does need to be arrested and eventually convicted imo. He'll get enough good hidings in prison. Although I would love to see Mick paste him, he too could be in serious trouble facing a prison term. Maybe Dean will kick off at Mick then Mick can retaliate and claim self defence. Unfortunately Dean is too much of a coward.
Dean does need to be arrested and eventually convicted imo.
Agreed! I was mad as hell when I read that Dean won't be going to prison for the rape.
This is a very sensitive subject for lots of people. I know rape convictions are incredibly low but it's still heartening for victims and their families to see TV rapists banged up, even if it's not that true to life.
I will enjoy it if Mick wreaks a suitable revenge, but it won't be as satisfying as seeing him convicted for his crime.
Totally agree ,missed opportunity for EE on that one....:(

Speaking at an EastEnders press event this week, executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins shared lots of gossip and teasers about the festive drama to come. Read on to find out what he had to say!
When did you decide that these two big Carter secrets would be exposed on Christmas Day?
"We knew the details of this Christmas vaguely last Christmas! When we brought the Carters in, we knew that we were going to explode them the following Christmas, so we had the tent pegs of the story laid out and in place.
"What I love about the story is that it has its origins in Greek tragedy, with a man raping his brother's wife. Originally the story didn't have that level of complexity, but one afternoon I was in the office of our series producer Sharon Batten when the show's story producer Alex Lamb came in and said, 'Have you seen the scene that Linda Henry has just done with Danny Dyer?' It was the scene when they first met Stan, right back in January.
"Alex said, 'Linda Henry's playing it like she's Mick's mum'. We all looked at each other and said, 'Oh my God!' Originally Shirley was Mick's sister and everything else was planned, but Alex said, 'She's his mum!' We went 'She's his mum!' Then when we got Linda Henry in to tell her, she cried!"
Was it important to plan Christmas so far in advance?
"I think the best stories are always planned. I think you can see a show that's not planned and is thinking on its feet, so we really tried hard to make sure we knew where we were going.
"A long-running drama is also very organic and it's good to feed off the actors' performances too. Kellie Bright and Danny Dyer fed into the script as well. We got their notes and thoughts, because they know their characters so well. What's lovely about EastEnders is that we all work together as a team and we listen to everybody's input. That's what makes it special."
So did the actors also know the details of Christmas from the start?
"Yes, they knew. We always knew this Christmas there would be two moments - Mick finds out about the rape and Mick finds out that Shirley is his mum.
"We all worked here on the Max and Stacey story in 2007. The formula then was an old EastEnders formula - you do a big storyline in the autumn, plant a big bomb and then explode it at Christmas. The audiences like a long-running storyline. They needed to get involved in these stories, know all the secrets and watch them explode."
What will be the repercussions of Christmas?
"Going on from this, it's not the end of the Carter storyline - it's just the beginning. Mick and Linda are going to fight to save their marriage.
"Shirley is also going to have to choose between her two sons coming into the New Year. Linda Henry doesn't like talking to people, coming to press events or coming to awards ceremonies. She's so amazing, lovely, cuddly and warm underneath that brittle exterior, but because of that she doesn't get enough praise.
"Alex, Sharon and I were all here when we created Shirley - and Linda Marlowe was always in our heads as her mum! We always talked about the Carters too. There were story conferences six years ago when we talked about the Carters, so this moment has kind of been bubbling for years!"
We know that Mick will trash the Queen Vic once the truth is revealed! Can you tell us more?
"Danny has been champing at the bit to do this for a year! Ever since we told him about the rape storyline, he was saying, 'But Dom I'll go ballistic, I'll kill Dean!' Then when he watched it happen he was saying, 'I don't like it, I don't like what he's doing to her'. It made him genuinely sad, but also he's Danny Dyer and he wants to smash things! (Laughs.)
"We always said there would be this scene and it's fab. We let Danny go crazy and then it calms down a bit, but this is only Act One. There's so much more to come and it ripples through the family."
Can Mick and Linda stay strong?
"The constant through it all is their love. Things won't be smooth and they are going to get rocky, but ultimately there'll be a happy ending."
Can you tell us more about Shirley's reaction to the rape revelation?
"Shirley is torn. The easiest thing would be for the truth to come out about Shirley being Mick's mum and they'd have a hug, but we had to put another obstacle in the way. This was always another big twist. We've got to make it difficult! This is EastEnders and if we were all cuddly, you wouldn't be watching. So it's going to be very, very hard.
"What's wonderful is you've got someone like Linda Henry who just plays with all these different strange facets of Shirley, who is not a sympathetic character and yet you're with her on this whole journey. She's going to vacillate and she's going to go between her sons.
"You've already met daddy - Buster Briggs played by the amazing Karl Howman. He's coming back for the next chapter of this story. He needs to see his two sons and we'll see how that's going to affect Mick and Shirley. There's a whole new era for Shirley coming up next year, which is really exciting.
"We've also got a lot more from Linda's mother Elaine. Maria Friedman did so beautifully in the scenes she did earlier, but there's even more lovely Maria Friedman stuff to come!"
What else can you tease about the story?
"You haven't had all the surprises yet! As you know, there's a baby due. We've scripted the birth, which is suitably dramatic. Ultimately, it's not all going to be bleak. This is heavy, but you can't sustain that. There is a lot of joy coming up for the Carters as well. That's important, because when they came in they were joyful and we're keeping hold of that.
"When the script first came through for the rape, Kellie said, 'Oh God, we're doing it. We're changing Linda and we're changing the family forever'. The family will never be the same again, but there is so much more to come and I have an amazingly clever team of writers, producers and storyliners.
"We keep taking what we think is the obvious - the way the audience think we're going to go - and then going the opposite way. It keeps us all on our toes but so far it's working!"
Why should people watch EastEnders over Christmas?
"Because I think we've gone back to basics and back to the origins of classic EastEnders. It's the secret that the audience know is going to come out and they're wondering how it's going to come out. Afterwards you're watching the fallout and it's going to keep rumbling. Boxing Day picks up directly from Christmas Day and if possible it gets even better!"

Oh, but then we wouldn't be treated to a hilarious episode where cheeky chappy Alfie desperately seeks out a condom... :p :D
Stan Carter will ask grandson Mick to help him die after he received a terminal diagnosis.
During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Danny Dyer let slip the new storyline which will see Stan asking Mick to "smother him" after revealing his terminal illness.
Dyer said: "I'm juggling about eight storylines at the moment. My old man is on his way out. My mother's got Alzheimer's - she's not my mother, my sister's actually my mum.
"My missus has been raped by who turns out to be my brother, so I don't know if it's my kid. My dad dying - he's not my dad, he's actually my grandad - he wants me to smother him."
Dyer also spoke about the Carter family's dramatic Christmas Day, which is when Mick finds out Linda was raped and Shirley is his mother.
He said: "It's the Christmas from hell, but it's a beautiful thing at the same time. It's all nice - mince pies, cranberry sauce, bit of goose and all that game - 9 o'clock it gets so dark. We have an hour of the Carter family just unfolding and me having a complete breakdown. I've loved it though. As an actor, you want to do that stuff."
Dyer continued to explained why he thinks EastEnders is depressing at Christmas.
"I think you need a little smack round the face on Christmas Day," he said. "Everyone's opening presents and acting jolly - all of that forced fun - and then you just need a little spank!"
Dyer recently praised EastEnders' writers for the Christmas episodes when Mick learns of Linda's rape, saying he believes that Mick's reaction is very realistic.
EastEnders villain Dean Wicks continues to threaten Linda Carter in the show's Christmas Eve edition.
The show's latest episode saw Dean (Matt Di Angelo) vengefully cause trouble for Linda by telling Lee that his parents aren't really married.
While Linda (Kellie Bright) is still dealing with the fallout from this revelation, Dean will pay another visit to the Queen Vic and urge her to help him win back Stacey Branning.
