Yet more evidence is discovered in the Lucy Beale murder investigation, causing speculation and finger-pointing on the Square.
EastEnders hardman Phil Mitchell comes face-to-face with his old enemy Nick Cotton next month.
Like many in Albert Square, Phil (Steve McFadden) is currently under the impression that Nick is dead and gone - but scenes airing in mid-December will see him learn that the notorious villain is still alive.
Phil's discovery comes soon after Nick (John Altman) has started to become careless by stepping out in public as he is fed up with being holed up at Dot's house.
Ian Beale is shocked to spot Nick out and about, and word of his shock return quickly gets back to Phil.
Once Phil knows the truth, he storms over to Dot's house to confront Nick and tensions quickly flare up between the two men.
The outcome of the clash remains to be seen, but it forms part of a longer-term plot which will see Nick go head-to-head with the Mitchells once again.

There was that incident when Nick blackmailed Billy and Phil got angry and strapped him inside the Vic cellar. I remember that. I hope Phil's old ways return.

Meanwhile, DI Keeble explains to Emma that there was suspicious activity on Lucy's social media accounts following her death. Keeble gives Emma the task of obtaining Lauren's laptop. After Lauren makes a reference about Lucy's death, Emma decides to hand the laptop over.
Elsewhere, Ian urges Lauren to speak to Peter.
Also today, Yvonne and Nick continue to bond. Yvonne feels that Ronnie is getting in the way of her relationship with her son, which gives her a common enemy with Nick. At the same time, Ian meets up with Charlie and Ronnie as they continue to discuss the idea of bribing Nick to leave.
Finally, Stacey is continuing to warm to Dean. After Dean offers to look after Lily whilst Stacey helps Kat, they officially become a couple.

EastEnders couple Kat and Alfie Moon make a huge decision in tonight's episode (December 18) as they resolve to leave Walford for good.
When Kat and Alfie seek urgent housing help at the council office following their latest eviction, they are advised to move to Hull as there are properties immediately available there.
Although the pair would prefer to stay in Walford, it turns out that the waiting list for houses is far too long.
Accepting they have no other options, Kat and Alfie resolve to go ahead with the Hull move - but Stacey Branning is shocked to spot them leaving to start their new life without even saying goodbye.
Soon afterwards, nothing can prepare Kat for the future she is about to face when she finally discovers that Alfie started the fire which left her badly burned.
How will Kat learn the truth and how will she react?
Teasing the drama in store, Shane Richie - who plays Alfie - commented: "The council say they have somewhere for them where they could settle down with a house, but it's in Hull. They decide they're going to make a new start of it and Alfie is all up for it, to get away from the Square.
"That's the great thing about EastEnders - they do the research and there are a lot of people and families that have to move out. For Alfie, there's always a bright side and Hull is not far from the sea.
"So it's a new start and a new beginning for Kat and Alfie in Hull, but they try to keep it low-key because Alfie knows Stacey is still pushing him to say something."
He added: "Alfie thinks it'll be okay if he can get Kat away from the Square. They're constantly reminded about the fire at Number 23 - every time they're on the Square it's there and it's in their face all the time. He's happy to go to Hull, but right at the last minute, something happens and it's the big reveal. Kat finds out!"
EastEnders airs these scenes tonight at 7.30pm on BBC One.

When Kat and Alfie seek urgent housing help at the council office following their latest eviction, they are advised to move to Hull as there are properties immediately available there.
This seemed so unlikely to me that I looked up Council Housing in Hull and found this:
"You can apply for a council home through our lettings service, HomeSearch. If you would like us to consider you for a property you will need to bid for it. To bid for council properties you must be registered on our housing list. To register on our housing list you need to complete a HomeSearch application form."
And then: "There is high demand for our homes so we are unable to offer everyone on our housing list a property. You may wish to consider other housing options such as private rented accommodation or housing association properties."
:hmm:
