Over on Coronation Street, Kal Nazir's temper boils over when he learns that his daughter Alya is dating Gary Windass.

The pair have been hiding their relationship for weeks, but are finally caught out when they sneak into Number 6 for some alone time since Gary (Mikey North) still has the keys to his family's old home.

Gary and Alya (Sair Khan) enjoy a candlelit supper at the empty house, but just as things are getting steamy between them, Kal and Yasmeen make a surprise appearance.

Backed into a corner, Alya reluctantly confesses that she and Gary have been seeing each other - but nothing can prepare her for Kal's extreme reaction as he punches Gary and drags him out into the street.

News of the secret romance will devastate Izzy Armstrong as she has been secretly harbouring hopes of a reunion with Gary.

Leanne also finds herself dragged into the messy situation as Kal (Jimi Mistry) is furious when he learns that she has known the truth for weeks.

Sensible Leanne desperately tries to make Kal see that Alya and Gary's situation isn't any different to their own, but he refuses to listen and bans his daughter from seeing Gary again. Can anyone talk him round?

Further to our discussion on another thread, I was thinking that maybe one of the reasons Kal reacts so badly to seeing Alya and Gary together is that he feels betrayed by Gary, a friend and former colleague (is that the right word?). It must be a common reaction for a parent who finds out a good friend has been seeing their child behind their back, and makes him less of a hypocrite.

I think that Kal and Yasmeen appearing at the old Windass house signifies that the Nazirs are going to buy it.

There is a tough time ahead for the Platt family on Coronation Street next week as David catches Kyle red-handed.

Viewers have seen Kylie get drawn back into her old life as she has become reacquainted with her bad boy ex Callum Logan, who has been supplying her with drugs.

As Kylie continues to lie to David in order to meet up with Callum for drugs, David becomes increasingly worried about his wife and confides in her friend Eva.

When Eva agrees to take David to Kylie's old neighbourhood, they enter the pub just as Kylie buys drugs from a dealer.

As a horrified David follows Kylie into the bathroom, he catches her red-handed just as she is about to take some speed. Angry and disgusted, David storms out while Eva, who is equally furious with Kylie, encourages her to go after David and save her family.

Persuaded by Eva to be honest with David about the full extent of her past drug addiction, Kylie comes eventually comes clean with him, admitting that had tried several drugs before she met him but has since turned her life around.

With their marriage on the line as David struggles to digest this new information, Kylie desperately tries to make amends although it is clear she is struggling from withdrawal symptoms.

Meanwhile, David has a tough time trusting Kylie in the wake of his discovery and he questions her over who her dealer is, causing Kylie to lie once again. However, when Kylie receives a text from Callum demanding to see her, she is fearful over what he will do next.

David is also stunned when Max announces that he wants him to become his 'real' dad and Kylie is left more fearful than ever. How long can she keep this secret up for?

It's family day at the community centre and a photographer has been booked to take family portraits. David and Maria work on Max and Lily's hair at the salon in preparation for the Platts' photo. In her jittery state, Kylie drops her last wrap. Making out she has got a nail appointment elsewhere, Kylie heads out to find Callum as she is desperate for a fix. When David confides in Eva over how worried he is about Kylie, she agrees to take him to Kylie's old haunt, The Dog and Gun pub.

As David and Eva enter, they watch horrified as Kylie buys drugs from a dealer. David follows Kylie into the loos and catches her red-handed about to take some speed. Angry and disgusted, David storms out. Eva is furious with Kylie and implores her to go after David and save her family. Forced to choose between drugs and her family, Kylie is at breaking point.

Meanwhile, as Michael insists the photographer takes a shot of him and Gavin, Gavin reluctantly agrees. But Zeedan refuses to take part, claiming he is too upset as today would have been his mum's birthday. Kal is not happy and when Tony then forces him to work, Kal lays into Tony, furious that he is exploiting Zeedan when he should be with his family.

Elsewhere, when Maria accidentally stabs herself in the eye with a mascara wand, Luke leaps to her rescue and takes her to A&E.

Also today, when Owen unwittingly lets slip to Diane that Kevin gave her sofa to Sally, Diane insists that she and Kevin pay Sally a visit after their lunch date. Is Kevin's lie about to be exposed?

Finally, Tim worries that he is going to have to let Faye down and pull out of the school auction as his reading just isn't up to it, Emily introduces her new vicar to Sean and Eileen and Sean is pleased when it turns out to be Billy, while Katy confides in a gutted Alya that she thinks Gary and Izzy are getting back together.


Wednesday

Eva urges Kylie to tell David the full extent of her past drug addiction so he can help her. She warns that if Kylie doesn't come clean to David, she'll tell him everything herself.

At breaking point, Kylie admits to David that she tried all sorts of drugs before she met him, but now she has turned her life around and hates herself for what she's done. Horrified, how will David react to her confession?

Meanwhile, Zeedan berates Kal for threatening Tony, pointing out that he could have lost him his job. Kal assures Zeedan that he was only looking out for him. He reminds Zeedan that he hasn't forgotten his mum and will always love Jamila. Can father and son reach a truce?

Elsewhere, when Alya confides in Leanne that Katy reckons Gary and Izzy are getting back together, Leanne suggests it's just wishful thinking from Katy and it's time Alya and Gary came clean about their relationship. Gary assures Alya that he has no intention of getting back with Izzy, but how will he react when Alya says she has decided to tell Kal about them?

Also today, Maria feels guilty when she realises that Luke missed out on the flat he was after as he had to take her to A&E. When Audrey advises Maria not to let Luke slip through her fingers as he's a lovely boy, Maria apologises to Luke and suggests they go on a date.

Over at the Bistro, Sean is nervous as he and Billy have their first date. Will they be making plans for another date by the end of the night?

Finally, as Sally surveys the deck chairs that are now in place of her sofa, she blames Tim for the fact she has not only lost her lovely sofa but her new friend Diane too!


Friday

As Gary and Izzy chat about Jake, it's clear they're getting on well. Izzy secretly hopes it could be the start of a reconciliation, but Gary has only got eyes for Alya.

Revealing that he has still got the keys to Number 6, Gary suggests to Alya that they should meet there for a secret tryst. An excited Alya and Gary sneak into Number 6 and share a candlelit supper, but just as things get steamy, Yasmeen and Kal suddenly appear. Alya is horrified.

Meanwhile, despite the fact she is struggling without her drugs, Kylie does her best to make amends and goes all-out to be a good mother and wife. David remains sceptical and when Kylie's phone buzzes with a text, he picks it up. Will it be from Callum? Later, Kylie tells David how sorry she is for hurting him. Can their marriage survive?

Elsewhere, Maria admits to Audrey that as much as she likes Luke, she is worried about the age difference. Audrey tells her to grab a slice of happiness while she can and stop overthinking it.

Also, Beth discusses her wedding dress design with Sinead, while Kirk asks a delighted Chesney to be his best man.

Finally, Julie pampers herself at the salon in readiness for her date with Dev, clearly smitten.


Friday (2)

Kal and Yasmeen stare incredulously as Alya confesses that she and Gary have been seeing each other. Unable to contain his fury, Kal lashes out and punches Gary, dragging him out onto the street. Izzy is devastated to realise what has been going on.

Leanne does her best to calm Kal down, but he is furious to realise that Leanne already knew about Alya's relationship with Gary. Leanne tries to make Kal see that Alya and Gary's situation isn't any different to their own, but Kal refuses to listen and insists that Gary isn't good enough for his daughter. Alya is gutted as Kal lays the law down, banning her from seeing Gary. Feeling terrible, can she talk Kal round?

Meanwhile, David demands to know who Kylie's dealer is. Kylie lies that it's Macca, but when Callum texts Kylie demanding to see her, will her lie be exposed? Later, Kylie is terrified about what Callum might do next. When Max tells David and Kylie that he'd like David to become his real dad, her fears are exacerbated.

Elsewhere, Maria and Luke enjoy their first date at the Bistro and when Luke realises he has lost his keys to Number 9, Maria is only too happy to suggest a nightcap at hers. However, will their plans be scuppered by a 'helpful' Steph?

Also, over dinner at the Bistro, Julie is swept away by Dev's chivalrous manner. When he invites her back for a nightcap, will she accept?
