Neighbours handyman Kyle Canning will be reunited with his long-lost father Gary in an upcoming storyline, Digital Spy can reveal.

The soap has already filmed a guest stint for the new character, who will turn up in Erinsborough and shake up life for the popular Canning family.

As Kyle hasn't seen his dad for 16 years, he will experience mixed emotions when he discovers that Gary is back.

Christopher Milligan, who plays Kyle, told Digital Spy: "The good thing about Gary is that he is Sheila's son, Naomi's brother and Kyle's dad, so he can be involved with everyone. It was very interesting for the weeks that he was with us, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the episodes myself.

"Gary left when Kyle was 8 and he has never spoken to him or seen him since. That was 16 years ago. At first Kyle doesn't quite know whether to hit him or hug him!

"Kyle has really wanted his dad to come back and be part of his life for so long, but when he does, he doesn't know how he is feeling or how to react with his emotions. It's going to be a bit of a shake-up, but hopefully it works out for them!"

Asked about the actor who is playing Gary, Milligan replied: "I can't reveal his name, but he's phenomenal and one of the best actors that I've ever worked with.

"He's so funny and with the way that he portrays Kyle's dad, you can really tell where Kyle gets his bogan and larrikin attitude from! You can really see the history between them even though Gary hasn't really been around."

Actor Damien Richardson has landed the role of Gary and will make his first appearance next week on Australian screens. Gary's arrival will be screened in the UK on November 21.

Christopher Milligan, who plays Kyle, recently told Digital Spy that his popular character will be shocked to be reunited with Gary for the first time in 16 years.

Neighbours handyman Kyle Canning will confront his estranged father Gary later this month following the discovery that Sheila has been in contact with him.

As previously revealed, Gary is the estranged father of Kyle and son of Sheila, who will be joining Ramsay Street for a guest stint.

Kyle (Christopher Milligan) gets the shock of his life when he discovers his grandmother Sheila (Colette Mann) has secretly met up with her son Gary.

Reeling in the wake of seeing Sheila with his father, Kyle doesn't know how to process the shock and refuses to discuss the situation with Sheila.

After being urged by Georgia to push Sheila for answers, Kyle is devastated to learn that Gary has chosen not to be in his life for all these years.

Kyle is furious with Gary.

Witnessing Kyle's hurt, Georgia confronts Gary herself and pleads with him to reach out to Kyle, who is longing for his attention. With this in mind, Gary decides to take Georgia's pleas on board, leaving Kyle confused by his sudden desire to get to know him.

As the pair eventually share an awkward conversation, Kyle's repressed anger towards his father begins to surface but they agree to talk things through later.

However, Gary is overwhelmed when he witnesses a tender moment between Kyle and Bossy and decides to cancel his meeting with Kyle, leaving him furious.

Going after his father, Kyle confronts him in the street but is stunned when he realises just how upset Gary really is. Gary explains that Kyle is a good man, and that he can't take the credit for any of it seeing as he wasn't around.

Deciding to leave Ramsay Street, Sheila is left wondering if she will ever see him again, but has he gone for good?

It looks like there could be more drama in store for Neighbours' Sheila Canning as her troublesome son Gary is set to make a return.

Damien Richardson has reprised the role for another guest stint and has been back filming with the soap this week.

Fans were introduced to Gary - who is also the father of Kyle - last year, but the Canning family reunion was short-lived as his crimes soon caught up with him.

Although Gary is currently serving time in prison, he will be making his way back to Ramsay Street next year. However, whether he has changed his criminal ways remains to be seen.

Colette Mann, who plays Sheila, recently hinted at the news while speaking to Digital Spy, as well as confirming that a new Canning would be arriving.

She said: "A new Canning has arrived on set, but we're not allowed to say who it is. That starts a big new storyline.

"An older Canning is also arriving back early next year, so we'll be quite the big family again."

Mann is currently directing a stage production of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, in which Richardson will star alongside Kate Kendall, who plays Lauren Turner. The play is set to kick off in Melbourne in November.

Neighbours reintroduces Gary Canning later this month as his daughter Xanthe pays a bittersweet visit to him in prison.

Gary's mum Sheila arranges the meeting as she believes that it'll be good for Xanthe (Lilly Van der Meer), but the family reunion has the potential to cause more harm than good.

Xanthe is delighted to see her dad and is especially pleased when he reveals that he may be getting out of prison soon. Unfortunately, Gary's son Kyle isn't as enthused by the news - and that's where the trouble starts.

Fearing that it'll cause too much trouble if Gary (Damien Richardson) gets involved in Xanthe's life only to later let her down, Kyle pays his own visit to the prison and warns him off.

Kyle urges Gary to see that it'd be better if he just stayed away, so Gary later gets into a fight in order to purposely scupper his own parole chances.

Xanthe is devastated when she hears what happened and Kyle's role in the fiasco - leaving her with a tough decision to make over whether she wants to stay in Erinsborough at all...

Neighbours airs these scenes on Monday, February 15 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.

Neighbours rogue Gary Canning looks set to return to his old ways in a desperate bid to settle his debts.

Gary (Damien Richardson) has been left to foot the bill for his old flame Brooke Butler's jewellery scam, which left the Kennedys high and dry last year.

Tense scenes on the show today (January 16) see the Cannings and the Kennedys come face-to-face to thrash out their differences once and for all. (Hmm, we don't fancy their chances!)

Susan even makes the peace-making gesture of offering to forget all about the owed money... much to Karl's horror and Gary's surprise.

When proud Gary firmly insists that the Kennedys will be paid back every penny, it quickly becomes clear that it's a promise he may not be able to keep without resorting to desperate measures.

Meeting up with dodgy old acquaintance Kev McNally (Troy Davis), Gary reveals that he's ready and available to get back into the world of illegal activities... no questions asked.

As they catch up at The Waterhole, Gary tells Kev: "The truth is, I need cash fast. So how about it? Need stuff moved, no questions asked? I'm your man.

"I've got debts that need clearing. I'll do whatever it takes."

Uh-oh, could big trouble be brewing on Ramsay Street if Gary goes ahead with this? If you ask us, he really should have taken Susan up on that offer...

Neighbours' Gary Canning gets blackmailed by mischievous newcomer Nance Sluggett
Denise Drysdale is playing the eccentric new arrival.

http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/news/a866867/neighbours-spoilers-gary-canning-nance-sluggett-blackmail/

Neighbours' Gary Canning has to give into blackmail demands next week when a new character arrives with the potential to cause some major trouble for him.

Gary (Damien Richardson) is busy working at the Retreat when he's confronted by colourful new arrival Nance Sluggett, played by Australian entertainment stalwart Denise Drysdale.

Nance introduces herself as the mother of Jeremy Sluggett, the dodgy guy who handed over money for Gary to look after earlier this year.

It turns out that Nance has arrived to pick up her son's $100,000, but a sheepish Gary is forced to confess that he's already spent the money on his daughter.

Nance's arrival comes shortly after Gary has made the impulsive decision to use Jeremy's money to fund Xanthe's tuition fees.

After hearing Gary's nervous confession, Nance demands a free treatment while she considers her next move.

As Nance is pleased with the service at the Retreat, she agrees to keep Jeremy off Gary's back – but makes it clear that she'll be back for more freebies in return for her kind help.

With a flirtatious look in her eye, could Nance also have more than just treatments on her mind?

Neighbours bosses announced the casting of Denise Drysdale in June, although the character she'd be playing was kept secret at the time. The TV personality and presenter, who currently presents morning show Studio 10, is affectionately known as Ding Dong in Australia.

Speaking earlier this year about her Neighbours role, Denise commented: "I am very, very excited about it! I have been around as long as the show so to be finally doing a role on it is quite an honour and everyone has been so welcoming."

Neighbours' executive producer Jason Herbison added: "Denise is an extraordinary performer and Neighbours is privileged to have her join us to play quite an eccentric character who will have viewers perplexed with her antics."

Neighbours' Gary Canning shocks Amy Williams by confessing his love for her
How will she react?

http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/news/a867350/neighbours-spoilers-gary-canning-amy-williams-confession/

Neighbours' Gary Canning will confess his love for Amy Williams next week.

Gary (Damien Richardson) has been harbouring secret feelings for Amy for a while now, but he finally blurts them out after she makes a kind gesture when he's desperate for help.

Next week's episodes see Gary in turmoil as he's under serious pressure to pay back Jeremy Sluggett after using his bag of cash to fund Xanthe's university tuition fees.

Jeremy sends his mum Nance (Denise Drysdale) to retrieve the cash and she cheekily tries to blackmail Gary when he's unable to pay up.

In the end, the Cannings learn the full truth about Gary's dilemma and Xanthe sadly offers to sacrifice her uni placement to get the money back, allowing her father to pay up.

Seeing how devastated Gary is, Amy (Zoe Cramond) hands over a huge bonus that Paul has given her – telling him to use this money to appease Jeremy instead.

Overwhelmed and grateful, Gary shares his true feelings by telling Amy that he loves her.

Gary's revelation comes just as Amy is starting to feel trapped in her relationship with Rob Carson, who wants to move too quickly by purchasing a house with her. Will Amy decide that she's better off with Gary instead?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Friday, October 13 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5

Gary is a total loser! His daughter is a nightmare manipulative walking disaster.

Princess got a huge pay out for her injuries then couldnt wait a year to recover and take the exams, no she had to buy her way into a course using all her comp money and letting her Gaz get in deep debt to cover the short fall.

Gary then thus as usual lies and cheats his way throu this mess even getting violent with Shane and we still seem to be being told to feel sorry for him. Im with Ned tell him to kangaroo off. He never listens, never learns and anyone who associates with him gets dragged into the current mess he is in.

Neighbours reveals Gary Canning and Amy Williams's romantic future in new scenes
Will they make a good couple?

http://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/news/a867846/neighbours-spoilers-gary-canning-amy-williams-romance/

Neighbours has revealed that Gary Canning and Amy Williams will become a couple next week – much to the horror of Paul Robinson.

Gary declares his love for Amy in this Friday's episode (October 12), overwhelmed and grateful when she generously gives him $100,000 to pay back Jeremy Sluggett with.

Amy (Zoe Cramond) isn't sure what to think after Gary's confession, especially as she's currently in a relationship with Dr Rob Carson.

However, when Amy tells Dr Rob that she can't purchase a house with him because she's given so much money away to her friend, he reacts very badly and verbally attacks Gary (Damien Richardson) in an angry rant.

This nasty incident confirms to Amy that Dr Rob simply isn't the right guy for her, so she decides to end things with him. However, she also needs some time to consider her feelings for Gary before making any more big decisions.

Later in the week, Amy finally puts Gary out of his misery and lets him know that she can see a future with him.

The pair decide to start dating and Gary can hardly believe his luck after weeks of harbouring secret feelings for Amy.

When Amy's dad Paul spots them in a tender embrace, he's furious to learn that his daughter is now dating his nemesis.

Paul deals with his frustration by rolling Gary's food cart into the lake, but his petty behaviour backfires when Amy simply laughs at his over-the-top reaction. Will Paul just have to learn to live with this new relationship?

Neighbours reveals accident horror for Gary Canning
His new warehouse job goes horribly wrong.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a26265190/neighbours-spoilers-gary-canning-accident-horror/

Neighbours' Gary Canning suffers a nasty accident next week after exhausting himself by taking on a new job.

Gary (Damien Richardson) goes on a mission to pay back the money he owes to his ex-girlfriend Amy Williams, rebuild his life and ultimately win her back – but as always where he's concerned, it all goes horribly wrong.

When Gary lands himself a third job to boost his income, concerned Amy (Zoe Cramond) worries that he's taking on too much and reminds him of the need for some down time.

Stubborn Gary insists that he's fine and heads off to his new job at a local warehouse, but he gets off to a bad start by turning up late.

To make matters worse, Gary struggles to remember vital instructions about how to do the job, which causes him some major problems.

As Gary rushes to finish the job while working all alone on site, he messes up and causes a pile of heavy boxes to fall on top of him.

Gary is knocked unconscious but fortunately has a saviour when Amy finds him and makes sure that he's rushed to hospital.

When Gary wakes up in hospital, he's touched by Amy's obvious concern for him and is also intrigued to hear that she's been arguing with his mum Sheila about his wellbeing.

Gary reckons that Amy's obvious investment in his life is a sign that she wants them to get back together – is he right?

Neighbours baby drama ahead as Gary Canning is honest with Amy Williams
Sheila and Paul's scheming continues...

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a28244121/neighbours-spoilers-gary-canning-amy-williams-baby-drama/

Neighbours is gearing up to see Gary Canning come clean about not wanting a baby with Amy Williams.

In scenes airing next week, Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) and Sheila Canning (Colette Mann) hatch a new plan to sabotage Amy (Zoe Cramond) and Gary's relationship – after their previous schemes don't work out.

Ignoring her increasingly guilty conscience, Sheila asks the couple to look after Nell and Hugo, hoping that the babysitting session will expose Gary (Damien Richardson) as anything but father material.

Her hopes are realised when Gary slips up on more than one occasion, and a frustrated Amy is forced to take over.

Sheila's scheming then goes even further when she pops in to check on how the pair are doing, and uses a game of hide and seek to ensure Amy overhears Gary admitting that he doesn't really want to have a baby.

When he realises that Amy has heard his confession, Gary tries to backtrack, explaining that he's happy to compromise on the issue if it means Amy would be happy. While she's grateful that Gary's being honest, Amy maintains that she doesn't want to have a child with someone who isn't all-in on the idea.

Uncertain as to what Amy's viewpoint means for their relationship, Gary worries he's lost her for good but it turns out to be Kyle (Chris Milligan) who unexpectedly helps Amy realise that she's content in the life she's built with Gary and she comes around to the idea of enjoying their future together without having another child.

Seeing how relieved Gary is at Amy's realisation, Sheila tells Paul that they should ease off on their attempts to break them up. Paul, on the other hand, has other ideas, and remains convinced that Amy and Gary's relationship isn't as solid as it looks.

Neighbours airs these scenes on the week commencing July 8 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours' Gary Canning gets a surprising new love interest after splitting from Amy
Paul Robinson might not be happy.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a28675034/neighbours-gary-canning-gail-love-interest-paul-robinson/

Neighbours is lining up a new love interest for Gary Canning, just days after he splits with Amy Williams.

Tomorrow's episode (August 13) will see Gary (Damien Richardson) and Amy (Zoe Cramond) end their relationship after realising that they both want different things. Gary breaks up with his fiancée so she can be with Kyle (Chris Milligan) instead.

But he may not be single for long, with the return of Gail Lewis, Paul Robinson's ex-wife.

In scenes airing next week, Gary is struggling to get over his split with Amy, as she and Kyle have fun together.

Gary is persuaded by Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney) to try online dating app Tinder, and he finds a match right away, unaware that he has agreed a date with Gail (Fiona Corke).

As fans know, Gary and Paul (Stefan Dennis) were previously in a love triangle over Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) – so it may not take long for things to get extremely awkward.

Fiona Corke is reprising the role of Gail for the first time in 12 years.

She was a regular on the show between 1987 and 1989 and has made a handful of return appearances since then. Gail was last seen on screen in 2007.

Neighbours lines up another new love interest for Gary Canning
But it's the same problem.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a28813568/neighbours-gary-canning-paul-rebecca-gail/

Neighbours is lining up a new love interest for Gary Canning, following yet another romantic split.

After being involved with Gail following his split from Amy, Paul decides to let Gary know he's dating one of his first wives, which leads Gary and Gail to go their separate ways.

But, in scenes to air next week, Gary will pursue a new love interest.

Alas, unbeknownst to him, it's actually another one of Paul's ex-wives...

Back on Tinder but finding it perplexing, Gary bumps into a woman who he forms a connection with, unaware that the woman is Rebecca Napier, another former partner of Paul's.

Talking to Sheila, Gary even reveals that he's excited to be dating a woman who is in no way connected to Paul Robinson.
Oh dear.

Following their date at The 82, Rebecca is completely wooed by Gary.

Meanwhile Sheila, while spying on her son with Toadie, discovers the sad truth that Gary's date is another of Paul's ex-wives.

After informing Gary of the news, Sheila and Amy convince him to not let Gail and Rebecca's connection to Paul affect a potential romance.

But, will Gary leave both ladies in the lurch?

Neighbours airs weekdays on Channel 5.

Neighbours lines up love triangle for Gary Canning as he dates two women at once
Can't imagine this will end up going well...

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a28888921/neighbours-gary-canning-love-triangle-rebecca-napier-gail-lewis/

Everyone loves a good soap love triangle, mainly because they are the perfect blend of steamy romance scenes, secrets and tense drama.

So it's exciting to hear that Neighbours' Gary Canning (Damien Richardson) is about to embark on a love triangle of his own. Or rather, he is going to try...

Neighbours fans already know that Gary has signed up to Tinder, where he was instantly matched up with Gail Lewis (Fiona Corke) following his split from fiancée Amy (Zoe Cramond).

After learning that Gail was one of Paul Robinson's (Stefan Dennis) first wives, the couple quickly cooled things off, with Gary later striking up a connection with a new woman, Rebecca Napier, not knowing that he'd basically found himself with the exact same problem.

In scenes due to air next week, however, Gary decides that he's going to ignore any connections his prospective romantic partners have with Paul, and Kyle and Sheila are soon on hand to try and figure out what his chances with both Gail and Rebecca are.

And, when both women admit they're open to continue dating Gary, he decides to try and juggle dating both women, much to the dismay of Sheila, Kyle and Amy.

His juggling act won't last long, however, as Rebecca soon catches Gary on a date with Gail, and while Gail isn't too bothered by Gary keeping his options open – dating is hard, after all – it's a different matter for Rebecca, who isn't interested in competing.

As a result, Gary attempts to make it look like he actively chose to continue seeing Gail but when that plan also blows up after Rebecca undermines Gary, an amused Gail surprises Gary when she admits she's still keen on seeing where this goes.

She has one condition though: Gary needs to keep things simple going forward. Is this going to lead to *gasp* a proper romance for Gary?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours reveals surprising new love interest for Gary Canning
Surely this one has to work out?

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a29602520/neighbours-spoilers-gary-canning-prue-wallace-kiss/

Neighbours fans will see Gary Canning share a surprise kiss with Harlow Robinson's mum Prue Wallace next week.

Gary (Damien Richardson) becomes attracted to Prue when she pays a visit to Ramsay Street to see her daughter.

Prue (Denise van Outen) has travelled all the way from London to catch up with Harlow – and she has plenty to say when she arrives.

Worried for her daughter's wellbeing, Prue expresses her concern over Harlow living at Number 22 – no longer convinced that it's the best place for her

Prue is particularly concerned after the recent sex tape scandal at Lassiters, which has affected Paul and Terese's reputations.

Harlow is quick to insist that Paul and Terese are responsible guardians, but her words are undermined when Paul arrives home drunk after the Melbourne Cup celebrations.

Terese kindly invites Prue to stay at Number 22, but it does little to change her new guest's opinions.

The final straw for Prue comes when she discovers the shocking story behind Ned Willis's knife wound, immediately declaring that Harlow needs to move out.

In between finding fault with almost everyone and everything around her, Prue strikes up a bond with Gary.

After a string of failed relationships, could happiness be on the horizon for Gary?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Tuesday, November 5, Wednesday, November 6 and Thursday, November 7 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours' Gary Canning makes a shocking discovery about Prue Wallace
Will Gary be tempted by the cult?

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a29754527/neighbours-gary-canning-prue-wallace-discovery/

Neighbours' Gary Canning will come across a surprising discovery about Prue Wallace after catching her red-handed.

Next week's episodes will see Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) feeling guilty about warning Gary (Damien Richardson) about Prue (Denise van Outen), and convinces him to give her mother another chance.

Gary and Prue agree on another date, but Prue's mood is dampened after receiving a call from the Restoration Order cult.

Needing money to pay for her membership with The Order, Prue is tempted by an opportunity to steal from the till at the tram. But Gary catches and confronts her.

Prue says that the Order has improved her life and made her a better woman and mother, and explains that she's desperate to meet her monthly payment to continue her membership. She adds that she has plans for her and Harlow to live together in London.

Gary agrees to keep Prue's secret on the condition that she reveals more about The Order.

Gary becomes tempted by The Order, with Prue encouraging him to use the cult's guidance and principles to resolve a conflict with Paul Robinson.

Elsewhere, Prue tries to convince Harlow that she would be better off moving to London with her. When Harlow starts helping around the house for Terese Willis and Paul, Prue tells Harlow that she's not realising her true potential.

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

Neighbours confirms engagement storyline for Gary Canning and Prue Wallace
Harlow isn't happy...

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a31075251/neighbours-gary-canning-prue-wallace-engagement/

Neighbours' Gary Canning and Prue Wallace will get engaged.

Prue (Denise van Outen) was last seen heading to London and leaving her daughter Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) behind last year, but she returns to Erinsborough in scenes airing next week.

Harlow still doesn't know if she wants to speak with Prue, but Gary (Damien Richardson) – who helped with Prue's return – organises a welcome barbecue and wants everybody to get along with each other.

Harlow attends, and Prue insists to her that she's left the Restoration Order cult and is back for her.

Later, everyone learns that Gary and Prue are engaged. Harlow is upset, feeling that Prue wasn't telling the truth and that she's only back in Erinsborough for Gary. Meanwhile, Kyle (Chris Milligan) and Sheila (Colette Mann) aren't convinced that the engagement is a good idea.

Prue tries to make it clear that she's back for both Harlow and Gary, and intends to fix things with her daughter.

But there's an interesting development when Terese Willis (Rebekah Elmaloglou) proposes an idea for a wedding expo drawcard...

Neighbours airs these scenes on Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).

SPOILER ALERT!!

A devastated Sheila crumbles. No amount of support from her friends or family can ease the pain of losing her boy. Kyle decides to move in with Sheila so that they can support each other, but it seems nothing can mend the wounds Finn's awful actions have inflicted.

Neighbours cast praise former co-star after shock death scene
This actor will be missed just as much as their character.

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/neighbours/a31847516/neighbours-cast-damien-richardson-gary-death/

Neighbours fans were absolutely horrified to see lovable Gary Canning (Damien Richardson) brutally killed by cruel Finn Kelly (Rob Mills) in the final episode of Neighbours: Endgame this week.

Kind-hearted Gary had rushed to save Bea Nilsson (Bonnie Anderson) and Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan) from danger in the mineshaft on Pierce Greyson (Tim Robards)'s island, but evil Finn was determined that Bea and Harlow wouldn't be saved and so he crept up on Gary and fatally wounded him with an arrow.

Gary's devastated family will struggle to take in the news of his death, with his poor mum Sheila (Colette Mann) set to become fixated on Gary's autopsy.

And it's not just the residents of Erinsborough who are feeling a huge Gary-shaped hole in their lives, as Damien's co-stars are also missing his presence on set.

Chris Milligan, who plays Gary's son Kyle Canning, shared a series of photos of Damien on Instagram alongside a heartfelt tribute to his co-star.

"What an honour it's been to work alongside this brilliant bloke," he wrote, adding: "The green room is a little sadder and a lot less funny without you in it mate. I'll miss you big fella, can't wait to see what you do next!"

https://www.instagram.com/p/B9-aTA-hYK8/?utm_source=ig_embed

His on-screen mum Colette shared a jokey photo on Twitter of Damien strangling her alongside the words 'Happy Mother's Day' and wrote that she will "miss this guy so much!"

"He inspired and challenged me everyday as an actor and most of all he made me laugh... usually too much. I was constantly in trouble for messy mascara from crying with laughter!" she wrote.

Poor Gary wasn't the only character who lost their life during the dramatic week, with Prue Wallace (Denise van Outen) also being killed when she ended up in possession of a concealed bomb.

The week of late-night episodes may now be over but there's still plenty of drama ahead for the residents of Erinsborough, with Finn still on the loose and now setting his sights on Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne).

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
