A vicious, vicious brat who needs birching and sending to a violent Borstal. He should learn some discipline, respect and manners. If he is abused while he is there, then so be it. I call it tough love. Thanks.
WTF???? Why do you think that?

It's just the way it is, Perds. I'd be quite happy to birch him myself.
Well, I am glad you are not able to !

You never quite know though, Perds. He is a brat of seismic proportions and it will soon be too late to stop him. People need to sit up and take notice.
Ha ha...Mo Mouse is a very well known and funny poster on the Digital Spy soap forum (particularly well known for his loathing of Corrie's Simon and Leanne :D). I take it you're another victim of the forum's over-zealous moderators and have been permanently banned and are looking for a new home. Mona Lisa is another DS victim who sometimes posts here now.
You won't know me as I'm a lurker only on DS but I've read and enjoyed many of your funny posts. I hope you stick around here although you'll find it very quiet after DS. Soapboards is more of a "big fish, small pond" kind of place these days.
I don't think you'll find anyone agreeing with your need to birch Simon Barlow here though! :D

Not sure about shaving his head but I certainly would take him to the hairdresser sooner rather than later :D

Coronation Street schoolboy Simon Barlow looks set to cause problems for the Nazir family in an upcoming storyline.
Young cast member Alex Bain, who plays Simon, has been spotted filming comic scenes on location in Manchester with co-stars Marc Anwar (Sharif) and Qasim Akhtar (Zeedan).
As previously reported, future episodes will see Sharif and Roy Cropper end up sharing an allotment together - which quickly leads to them falling out over their opposing ideas and dividing the patch into two.
Subsequent scenes were filmed this week, showing that Sharif will later recruit his grandson to help out on the allotment - only for Zeedan to lazily get Simon to do the work while he sleeps in the shed.
Unfortunately, once Zeedan wakes up, he is horrified to find that Simon has mistakenly planted on Roy's land - which is bound to cause even more tension with the cafe owner.

Sharif reveals Simon's big mistake
Coronation Street's producer Stuart Blackburn has previously announced that Roy's allotment saga will lead to him making friends with a troubled new female character.
Blackburn told Inside Soap last month: "Roy meets a widowed lady over on the next allotment. She's not going to be a love interest, but someone who Roy will feel obliged to help guide through the world.
"We know how nervous Roy is around people he doesn't know, so the fact that he's able to come out of his shell and offer real, redemptive support to a complete stranger is a sign that the Roy we all know and love is back."
how come Simon is on the allottment. does'nt make sense unless Leanne has got them childminding now
where have these allotments suddenly sprung from?
I seem to remember allotments being mentioned ever so often in the past, I think Jack had one??? but don't remember them actually being shown. Guess they fit in with the storyline of Sharif and his chickens - The Good Life springs to mind :D
Violent Simon Barlow attacks Amy McDonald
There is going to be plenty of drama in the Barlow house over the coming weeks as troubled teen Simon Barlow sets his sights on a new victim.
For months he has been abusing his mum Leanne Battersby, but in shock scenes to be aired later this month Simon will attack his cousin Amy McDonald.
The two kids are left alone at Ken’s house and it’s not long before Simon’s anger gets the better of him and he attacks Amy. But seeing as she’s Tracy Barlow’s daughter the youngster doesn’t take his abuse lying down and quickly tells her mum what happened.
And Tracy hits the roof when she finds out Simon was violent with Amy, sparking a mouthy bust-up with Leanne.
An insider told the People: “The Barlows are going to be central to Coronation Street in the run up to Christmas.
“The close-knit family will be put under extreme strain and viewers will be left wondering if they can get through the turmoil.”

I hope Simon Gregson's back soon then because it won't do Steve's character any good if he isn't.

I get the impression he will be off for longer term so doubtful he is around Christmas time unless he gets better soon and they are already filming Christmas stuff
Me too, unfortunately. Wish they'd been more imaginitive in writing Steve out. We'll now have
'Man isn't there for his daughter when she needs him because he's throwing a strop over his mother's boyfriend.' They should have given Andy cancer or something, as it would give Steve justified reason to be absent for a prolonged period (spending time with his twin in case he didn't make it.)
I get annoyed by cancer seeming to be the only illness in soapland, but it would be better than this.
Things won't be merry in the Barlow household this Christmas on Coronation Street.
The Mirror has reported that Simon Barlow, played by Alex Bain, will turn violent towards Amy (Elle Mulvaney).

Leanne and Simon in Coronation Street
Viewers have seen Simon spend months abusing Leanne (Jane Danson), and Corrie's new plot will see him attack his young cousin.
The storyline will feature the two being left alone at their grandad Ken's house, and Amy will tell her mum Tracy about the incident.
Back in September, Danson admitted that she had some doubts over the domestic violence storyline.
"But the way it's been done is quite clever," she added. "He's a child who's been through so much with his dad, with the alcoholism, and he's lost so many people in his life. She's been the one constant, so she'll never give up on him."

The trouble with giving Andy cancer or another serious illness is that it would be extremely strange if Liz didn't go too. I can't think of a good reason to have Steve away from Michelle, Liz and his businesses for months to be honest.
Any long term absence, especially if the duration is unknown is pretty impossible for scriptwriters to include so Steve going to see Andy is probably the best they can do . Liz is too busy with the Rovers but can always go for long weekends or a week here and there without great explanations ...

Only if he had a serious accident abroad
( he would have to be there first ) and it
wasnt possible to move him home- for
medical reasons!
Re cancer there are so many types and
they have very different survival rates -
that is would be difficult to decide which
and write the story . It could give a wrong
or upsetting picture to people affected and their
families??

That's a good idea. He could have gone to visit Andy and received a serious injury that would take a long time to heal. Michelle would probably go out for a short while but could return as he would be in no danger.
The only problem is that because Simon Gregson's off work due to illness, the time stated (three months I believe) could be extended several times. I hope that doesn't happen!

But what does Andy do for his job, could STeve not go to help his twin who is having problems, that way, Liz would not need to go, and it's naturaly for siblings to help each other, I would help mine!

I understood and sympathised when he was just lashing out in anger, but in Monday's episode he took great pleasure in bullying and threatening Leanne. That's more than anger management or impulse control issues. It's verging on sadistic!
I hope we're not going to end up with yet another psycho soap child as that doesn't feel right for Simon. Fingers crossed he receives the appropriate help and learns to control himself and stop resenting Leanne.

Coronation Street spoiler – Simon Barlow goes missing
The Barlows are sent into a panic during next week’s Coronation Street when Simon goes missing.
The Weatherfield school boy manages to talk his dad Peter and girlfriend Toyah Battersby and into letting him go to a party. But after agreeing the pair soon regret their decision when he goes missing and no one can get hold of him.
They are forced to admit what’s happened to Leanne Battersby who is beside herself with worry as everyone races off in search of Simon.
Leanne tears a strip off Toyah and Peter for their irresponsible behaviour and tells Toyah that she wouldn’t understand how scared she is as she’s not a mother.
A show insider said: “Leanne lashes out in the heat of the moment but it’s obviously a sensitive subject for Toyah so it’s pretty hurtful. But all Leanne can think about is Simon and whether he’s OK or not.”
I always thought it was strange that she got custody.
Coronation Street's Simon Barlow will spark concern with his dark behaviour after he's excluded from school next week.
Simon (Alex Bain) appeared to be back on the straight and narrow following his terrible behaviour a few years ago, but his parents will be left fearing that he's going off the rails again after learning some unsettling information.
Leanne (Jane Danson) will be concerned after getting a call from her stepson's school informing her that Simon's in trouble and has been excluded as punishment.
A furious Leanne is forced to relay the news back to Peter, explaining how Simon's been selling vodka at school, which he'd stolen from the pub.
With Leanne quick to blame Peter for Simon's naughty behaviour, a huge row between the pair ensues and it's not long before Toyah is weighing in on it as well.
Shocked to hear that Simon has been stealing alcohol from them, Toyah jumps to even more conclusions about the teenager – wondering if he was also responsible for the bottle that went missing at Christmas.
Knowing he can't let his son take the blame for his own mistake, Peter sheepishly steps in and admits that the festive mishap was actually down to him.
Toyah's subsequently shaken to hear that Peter was nearly tempted back to the bottle, but can the clan put their differences aside for the sake of Simon? Or is the schoolboy heading off the rails again?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, January 15 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.

Both he and his girlfriend are only 16 ... like in soapland, they have not heard of contraception???
As Captain Mainwaring used to say.... "Stupid Boy!"
OH DEAR .. Coronation Street star Alex Bain splits from pregnant 16-year-old girlfriend.
The young actor's former girlfriend revealed the news as she shared another picture of her baby scan
The couple announced they were to become parents earlier this summer and posted a scan of their unborn child but things have done horribly wrong since - and now they’ve split.
Levi Selby, 16, is being comforted by family and friends as she prepares to swap High School for parenthood.
A source told The Sun: “She was proud to tell the world she and Alex were going to be parents. But things haven’t been running smoothly between them and now he’s told her it’s over. Everyone’s hoping it’s not because he already feels tied down.”
Levi is due in December and is hoping Alex - who playes troubled teen Simon Barlow - will uphold his responsibilities.
She recently announced on social media that the couple are expecting a baby girl - but she is now preparing to go it alone.
Shame :(
I'm afraid I have what I guess may be considered to be a very old fashioned view of such conduct by a father to be. But boot and backside come to mind for starters.
Coronation Street teen Simon Barlow fears for his safety next week after his dad Peter drops a bombshell.
Simon (Alex Bain) becomes convinced that his bullying ordeal will start all over again when he learns that Peter has suspended Vicky Jefferies at the factory.
A few weeks ago, Simon was being targeted by friends of gang leader Tyler Jefferies, who were punishing him for giving evidence at Tyler's court case.
Tyler's mates only backed off when Peter (Chris Gascoyne) gave the thug's mum Vicky a job at Underworld, providing her with an incentive to put her sly son back in line.

Next week, Peter is pushed to breaking point as he starts to lose patience over Vicky's bad behaviour at work.
Peter desperately wishes he could fire Vicky (Kerri Quinn), but knows he can't as the consequences would be dire for Simon.
Later in the week, Peter reaches the end of his tether with Vicky goading Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn) on the factory floor, so he bans the use of all mobile phones to restore order.

When Sinead defies the new rule and answers her phone because the hospital are ringing about collecting her biopsy results, Vicky reports her to Peter and also tries to grab her phone.
A nasty fight ensues and Peter finally takes action by suspending both women for a week.
When Peter tells Simon about Vicky's punishment, the teen is horrified and knows that it's only a matter of time before Tyler starts making his life hell again.
The situation only grows more stressful for Peter when Fiz Stape and Izzy Armstrong warn that they'll walk out if Vicky is allowed back.
Later, Peter hatches a sneaky plan to get Vicky a job with a rival company instead. Is this the answer to his prayers?

Coronatiohttps://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a46499406/coronation-street-spoilers-simon-barlow-new-job/n
Coronation Street's Street's Simon Barlow will land a new job next week, after Carla Barlow sacks him from his role at the Underworld factory.
Simon experiences a difficult week at work this week, after new arrival Bobby winds him up, but Simon's attitude doesn't help matters. When he shows up late and then refuses to make a delivery, Carla eventually decides to take action.
As next week arrives, Carla, who has had enough of his continuous bad attitude, informs Simon that he's lost his job. He wakes up with a terrible hangover following yet another night of drinking, before he realises with horror that he has spilt his beer over Nick Tilsley's paperwork.
Simon quickly hides the damaged paperwork and as Nick searches for it, Simon makes out that he hasn't seen the papers and offers to go and print them off for him.
After Simon calls into the Bistro with the newly-printed paperwork, Nick thanks him. He then urges Leanne Battersby to try and persuade Carla to reinstate Simon at the factory.
Leanne heads off to see Carla and urges her to give Simon another chance at Underworld. She explains that Simon has been strongly affected by his dad Peter's sudden departure at Christmas, and feels that he could use some direction.
However, later in the week, Simon reveals that Carla has taken Bobby on at the factory in his place. Leanne offers to speak to Carla again, but Simon asks her not to.
Later on, Leanne overrules Nick and offers Simon a job at the Bistro instead. After Simon starts his new job, Bobby suggests that they should have a lock-in ? and Simon feels tempted.
Is Simon about to blow it at the Bistro in his very first week?
Simon will reportedly be leaving the cobbles this summer, with actor Alex Bain said to be exiting Coronation Street after 15 years.
He is reportedly leaving in the summer but was that his exit? Sleeping on the street? Or do we have to put up with this character a bit longer?
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a60545276/coronation-street-alex-bain-finishes-filming/
Coronation Street star Alex Bain has confirmed he has finished filming after 16 years on the soap.
The actor shared an emotional post on Instagram yesterday (April 18) to reveal the news, as he also sent "love" to his Coronation Street family.
"That's a wrap for Simon Barlow everyone!" he captioned a boomerang from his dressing room. "Thank you to all at Coronation Street for the best 15 years of my life! PS: I'm gonna miss this coat seriously!"
In a follow-up post from outside the show's studio, Alex added: "Might be grey skies, but I adore this place so much! Love you all my Corrie Family!"
The star's exit was first reported last year, with Alex said to want to pursue other opportunities and will depart with an "explosive" storyline.
He subsequently addressed the rumours in a series of posts in his Instagram Stories, writing last month: "Well my day is done! Nice and short day today! I'm gonna miss this little space [so] dearly when I go! So glad I've got some shooting days left! So thankful."
Last week, the actor teased the build-up to his final day on set, sharing from his dressing room: "I can't believe this is nearly over! I am going to miss this place so dearly!"
Alex's character Simon has recently been trying to turn his life around after being sentenced to community service and a six-month driving ban after driving under the influence with Sam Blakeman.
He has been getting guidance from a group called The Institute, which is actually a cult led by charismatic leader Rowan Cunliffe.
https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a60800519/coronation-street-simon-barlow-exit-storyline/
Coronation Street has offered its first hints at Simon Barlow?s exit storyline, in upcoming scenes.
Simon has struggled in recent months after his dad Peter left the cobbles on Boxing Day to travel around the world on a yacht with a friend.
He began drinking heavily, a problem which eventually led to his involvement in a drink-driving incident that put Sam Blakeman in danger.
Simon attempted to turn his life around and has attended self-help classes led by Rowan Cunliffe ? which got his mum Leanne Battersby involved in cult The Institute.
However, this week?s scenes will see Simon spiral when he realises Leanne left for an Institute retreat without saying goodbye, and he skips work to hit the bottle.
In scenes that will air next week, Simon is hungover after drinking again, and he admits to a despairing Nick and Toyah that he remembers little about the previous day.
Nick tells Rowan that there was an incident involving Simon and he therefore urgently needs to speak to Leanne, who is still away on the retreat.
However, Rowan is dismissive of the situation, and his reaction angers Nick.
Manipulative Rowan suggests to Simon that they have a chat, as he knows what it?s like to drift through life without direction.
Later in the week, Simon is preparing to leave for the retreat himself, while Nick and Toyah try to talk him out of it. Out of desperation, Nick calls Peter.
Toyah later returns home to find Simon unpacking his bag, and he reveals that his dad has offered him a job on the yacht. Will this be how Simon leaves the street?
It was reported last year that actor Alex Bain would be leaving the soap after 16 years, with his character Simon departing the show this summer.
This was later confirmed, and last month Bain posted on social media the news that he had finished filming for the show.
"That?s a wrap for Simon Barlow everyone!" he wrote on an Instagram story. "Thank you to all at Coronation Street for the best 15 years of my life!"
