New EastEnders pictures show Alfie Moon making a decision he will live to regret as he sets fire to his family home.
Alfie (Shane Richie) has grown increasingly desperate over the last few weeks as his financial problems have continued to mount.
After Mo Harris's scheme to make some extra cash selling dodgy hairspray fails, Alfie sees no other way out and decides to start a fire in order to claim on his insurance.
With Kat, Stacey and Mo at Sharon's hen do and Whitney babysitting the twins, Alfie goes to start the fire but he is forced to stop when Mick Carter arrives.
However, when Mick persuades him to go to a lads' get-together which is being held by Billy Mitchell, Alfie's pride suffers another blow when they suggest a game of poker and he makes an excuse to leave.
Sitting on Arthur's bench contemplating what to do, Alfie realises he has no options left and returns to the house where he lights a cigarette and throws it into the bin.
As flames start to tear through the house, Alfie is unaware that Kat has left the hen party and is inside, but is anyone else with her?
