Tensions continue to run high at the Queen Vic, with Linda particularly worried when Johnny doesn't return home.

Later, Stan takes Linda to her childhood home, wanting her to see how her behaviour is driving a wedge between her and the kids. As they reminisce, we learn more about Linda and her traumatic past.

Meanwhile, Mick tries to escape the Carter family dramas by making a return visit to the swimming pool. He finally faces his fears by getting into the water with the help of Ian, who also finds the experience a comfort.

Elsewhere, Phil and Sharon are shocked to wake up and find an intruder standing in their bedroom.

Also today, Tina and Tosh head to a Gay Pride celebration, but Tosh gets annoyed when Tina dresses up as a fireman.

A new trailer for EastEnders has been released.

The 30-second video teases upcoming storylines for the Square, as lies and deceptions are catching up with the residents.

The video shows Shirley Carter continuing to deal with the fact that Mick is her son, and has her confessing her love to Phil Mitchell.

It also features Ian Beale keeping secrets about the night Lucy was killed, and Sharon in hospital after getting attacked.

Dean Wicks' plans to betray his family by selling the contents of his new salon for cash are also teased.

Johnny Carter reaches breaking point with his mother Linda on EastEnders next week, prompting him to leave Walford.

Viewers know that Johnny has suffered a difficult time with Linda after he revealed he was gay earlier this year and the pair have clashed several times since over Linda's interfering nature.

Johnny (Sam Strike) will face fresh problems with Linda (Kellie Bright) when she continues to smother him in the aftermath of Sharon Rickman's attack, much to Nancy's frustration.

When Nancy discovers that Johnny has been hiding the fact he failed some of his university exams, she persuades him to come clean to Mick and Linda, leaving Linda bitterly disappointed.

However, Linda cannot refrain from interfering in Johnny's life again and decides to visit his university lecturer behind his back, asking him to reconsider Johnny's results.

When Linda later returns to The Vic where the Carters' karaoke evening is in full-swing, it doesn't take long for Johnny to find out what Linda has been up to and he decides to get revenge.

After Johnny persuades his mum to sing to the packed pub, it soon becomes clear just how terrible Linda is at singing and she realises Johnny has set her up.

An angry showdown soon follows which results in Johnny saying some harsh words to his mum, packing a bag and leaving Walford...

Phil realises just how messed up Ronnie is when she reveals she has a gun.

Ronnie is feeling upbeat, but she soon faces relationship problems when Charlie questions her silence. She agrees to meet Charlie for a drink later, but when she gets herself caught up in a dispute between Phil and Shirley, Ronnie is forced to reconsider her priorities as the truth about her life dawns on her.

Ronnie has a heart-to-heart with Phil, who realises how messed up she has become when she reveals that she has a gun. Ronnie finally makes a big decision about her life - but what will she do?

Meanwhile, Tina annoys Tosh yet again when she is late to meet her for their first appointment at the fertility clinic as she has been helping Sonia. Tina decides to make amends by telling Sonia that they can't be friends anymore. She also assures Tosh that she does want a baby with her, but their happiness doesn't last long as they are faced with the task of financing a course of IVF.

Johnny comes clean to Mick and Linda that he has failed some of his exams.
Elsewhere, Nancy discovers that Johnny has failed some of his exams but hasn't told anyone. She persuades him to come clean, leaving Linda struggling to hide her disappointment.

Also today, with Billy arranging a sponsored swim for Janet, Mick agrees to take part - even though he can't swim and is terrified of water.

Finally, Kat fears that she has gone into premature labour. It turns out to be a false alarm, but it's a wake-up call for Alfie as he asks Terry for his help in earning some extra money before the twins arrive.


Tuesday

It's the day of Dean's salon opening and the Carters continue to support him with the venture. However, Shirley is distracted as she has found herself in desperate need of cash.

Later, when Dean's big day is a huge success, Shirley is forced to make a heartbreaking plan. While giving her son a hug, Shirley reaches into his back pocket and takes the key to the cash till. That evening, Shirley sneaks into the salon to steal the money - but Dean catches her…

Meanwhile, an interfering Linda visits Johnny's university lecturer behind his back, wanting him to reconsider her son's results. When Johnny finds out what his mum has been up to, he gets his own back by persuading her to sing at the Carters' packed-out karaoke event. Linda's singing is terrible and it soon becomes clear that Johnny has stitched her up. When Linda and Johnny have a huge argument, Johnny finally loses it - saying some harsh words before packing a bag and leaving Walford.

Elsewhere, Tosh thinks that Tina is putting her family before her once again when she calls in sick to help Dean with the salon launch. Tosh is infuriated as Tina was supposed to be impressing Ian to get a pay rise. To make matters worse, Ian catches Tina out.

Also today, Mick's fears get the better of him when he tries to swim again.

Finally, Aleks takes Alfie to task for letting Terry help him out on the stall when he doesn't have a licence. When Alfie goes to see Aleks, he finds him up to something on his laptop. Aleks later makes a deal with Alfie - he'll keep quiet as long as Alfie does too.


Friday

When Billy (Perry Fenwick) encourages the locals to sign up to Janet's sponsored swim, he manages to persuade a reluctant Mick to take part.

It soon becomes evident that Mick (Danny Dyer) can't swim and is petrified of water, but proceeds to go along, determined not to be beaten.

When Mick's attempts at swimming backfire after his fears get the better of him, he is forced to back out, leaving him frustrated.

However, keen to escape his family dramas, Mick decides to head back to the swimming pool later in the week. While he is there, Mick finally fights his demons and faces the water with the support of Ian, who finds the experience similarly helpful.
