Monday
Ian wants to make amends with both Lucy and Peter, but he can't get hold of his daughter. Jane persuades Peter to attend a family get-together at the restaurant, but in the end, neither of the twins turn up. Ian storms over to The Vic where Peter is waiting for Lucy and he unleashes his frustrations out on his son. Mick is forced to throw a furious Ian out of the pub. At the same time, Denise prepares to break the news to Ian that she wants to leave him.
Later, Ian is still looking for Lucy when he spots the police arriving at his house. His life changes forever when they inform him that Lucy is dead and her body has been found on Walford Common…
Meanwhile, Whitney is feeling sorry for herself after what happened with Lee, but Bianca and Kat encourage her to stand up to him. When Whitney next sees Lee, he once again tries to flirt with her - but she isn't having any of it.
Elsewhere, Bianca may be about to face trouble of her own when Nikki arrives at The Vic.
Also today, Aunt Babe helps out with the pool competition at the pub. When she learns about Stan's arrest, Aunt Babe warns him not to ruin the life his family have built up on Albert Square.
Tuesday
The police believe that Lucy's death is the result of a random mugging that got out of hand. Ian is determined to see his daughter despite the advice of the police, so he goes to the morgue and faces the worst moment of his life as he is shown Lucy's body.
Later, Jane and Denise are back at the Beale house and they know something is wrong as the police have visited. When Ian arrives home and collapses, Jane is overcome with grief as the gravity of the situation is revealed. Jane then goes to get Bobby and Cindy so that Ian can let them know what has happened.
Not long afterwards, Ian collects Peter from The Vic. Outside the pub, Ian has to break the devastating news to Peter that his twin sister is dead. As Peter falls to his knees, the grief tears through both him and Ian.
Meanwhile, Lady Di goes into labour at The Vic and it's Shirley who steps in to deliver the puppies. When it seems that one puppy might not make it, an unlikely local steps in to save the day. Downstairs at The Vic, the punters toast each puppy's arrival.
Thursday
Ian is still in shock following Lucy's death, and Dot fails to provide him with any comfort when she pays a visit. Shortly afterwards, the police arrive to search Lucy's room for evidence and also to interview her family. The situation is too much for Peter to bear, but he is consoled slightly when Lauren pays him a visit.
Ian and Cindy are questioned together, but Ian is furious when he feels that Cindy's answers have tainted Lucy's memory. Ian ends up snapping when Cindy picks up one of Lucy's jumpers. He throws Cindy out, shocking the rest of the family.
Meanwhile, Denise feels guilty when she realises that Ian didn't tell her about Lucy's problems because he didn't want to spoil her trip to see Libby.
Friday
Ian refuses to change his mind over his decision that Cindy should leave Walford. He arranges for Cindy's aunt Gina to come and pick her up, despite protests from Jane, TJ and Terry. In the end, Ian realises that he has made a mistake and chases the car down the street, not wanting Cindy to leave. Is he too late?
Later, Sharon feels guilty that she hasn't been around for Ian, so she insists to Phil that they need to go and pay their condolences. However, Sharon is shocked when she sees the state that Ian is in. She retreats to the kitchen, leaving Phil and Ian alone.
Meanwhile, the police continue to interview everyone who was close to Lucy, still looking for possible leads. When they visit Lauren, a nervous Max eavesdrops outside.
Elsewhere, Masood tells Jane he loves her, while Peter realises that Lola isn't as much comfort as Lauren.
Also today, it's almost goodbye time for Lee, but he agrees to speak to the police before he returns to the army. Nancy is surprised when Lee claims that he was at the housewarming party all night.
Finally, Alfie hands out black armbands to his fellow market traders as a mark of respect for the Beales. Donna refuses to wear one, but Pam creates a better impression of the Spring Lane traders when she happily shows her support.
At the same time, Terry is pleased when Nikki informs him that she will be staying in Walford for a while.
This is the moment that Ian Beale's world is changed forever as he is told that his daughter Lucy has been found dead on EastEnders next week.
Viewers will see Lucy's lifeless body left on the Walford Common at the end of this week, but Ian will remain in the dark over his daughter's demise as he desperately tries to make amends with son Peter.
After Jane (Laurie Brett) organises a family get-together at the restaurant, Ian (Adam Woodyatt) is upset when neither of the twins turn up and heads off to the Vic where he clashes with Peter, who is waiting for Lucy.
After Mick is forced to throw him out of the pub, Ian decides to go over to the Brannings to check if Lucy is with Lauren but as he makes his way back from there, he sees the police heading to his house.
Ian is then given the devastating news that Lucy's body has been found on Walford Common...
