EastEnders' Kat Moon faces an angry reaction from Carol Jackson later this month as news spreads that she has come forward as a witness to Michael's murder.

Carol (Lindsey Coulson) is furious when she learns that Kat has given a statement to the police which incriminates Alice as the guilty party rather than Janine Butcher.

Viewers know that Kat (Jessie Wallace) has agreed to help clear Janine's name, as she wants the schemer to drop her own false claims about Stacey Branning.

When Carol hears that Kat is claiming to have seen Alice kill Michael, she refuses to believe that her story is true and warns Kat that she won't get away with her deception.

The row between Carol and Kat also leaves Bianca (Patsy Palmer) with divided loyalties, as she isn't sure who to side with. Will Kat continue with her lies, or is she already realising that she has made a huge mistake?

Monday

Just when she thinks things can't get any worse, Roxy's past comes back to haunt her.

Meanwhile, Dot is upset when she finds out that Ronnie has bought the gym and changed its name without consulting her or Jim. Later, Dot receives a shocking visit from the police, who deliver the news that Nick is dead.

Elsewhere, Jane arrives back in Walford and starts staying with Masood. Feeling jealous, Ian pays her a visit and tells her about Cindy's pregnancy. Following some advice from Jane, Ian decides to offer Terry an olive branch. Later, Ian, Denise, Terry and TJ meet to discuss Cindy's pregnancy.

Also today, Kat is anxious as her day in court is looming. Alfie tries to cheer her up by unveiling his new business venture - a burger van. Later, David is surprised to learn that Kat has come forward as a witness. As he quizzes Kat on her new statement, she becomes terrified that she has made a huge mistake.

Finally, Bianca and Sonia are left exhausted after their gene test.

Tuesday

Ian and Sharon visit Dot to offer their condolences following the news of Nick's death, but they are left concerned by her strange behaviour. Fatboy confides in Sharon that Nick had tried to get in contact with Dot but Poppy had intercepted. Dot insists on being left alone and finally surrenders to her grief.

Later, Dot receives a shock when Charlie arrives and reveals that he is her grandson.

Meanwhile, everyone is surprised by Ian's decision regarding Cindy's baby. Jane then shocks Ian with her proposal that if she is going to become a partner in Scarlett's, they have to close it.

Elsewhere, Liam has told Carol about Kat's new statement. A furious Carol confronts Kat and warns her that she won't get away with it.

Thursday

David gives Carol an engagement ring to lift her spirits, but her mood sours after another run-in with Kat. Soon afterwards, Sonia and Bianca accompany Carol to chemotherapy, but it's not long before they are reminded that this could also be their own reality.

Later, Carol insists on going to the trial to support Alice and reassures David before he takes the stand.

Meanwhile, Kat's guilt continues to grow and she is reluctant to leave the house. After Alfie eventually persuades her to venture out, she is worried when she comes across Bianca. Kat's fears intensify when she finds out that Stacey has disappeared.

Elsewhere, Dot isn't sure whether to trust Charlie, but she eventually agrees to give him a chance following some encouragement from Fatboy. Dot invites Charlie over but quickly becomes upset, forcing him to leave. Fatboy is left to comfort Dot.

Also today, Ian criticises Jane's idea of shutting the restaurant. Fed up with Ian's moodiness, Jane snaps at him but when Ian opens up about why he is behaving the way he is, Jane reassures him.

Friday

Ian is surprised to see Jane back in the square.

Although Jane stays with Masood Ahmed during her latest visit, she spends much of her time with the Beales and even helps to restore peace following recent rows over Cindy's pregnancy.

Once the family dramas are settled, it's back to business as Jane insists that Scarlett's will have to close for a while if she's going to put her money into it.

Jane wants time to put her own stamp on the venue, but Ian is critical of her idea and becomes moody as they row over their opposing views.

Following a heart-to-heart, however, the former couple reach an understanding and seem to be growing close again.

Jane also helps Ian to give the café a makeover, but back at the restaurant she is surprised to find a sleeping bag. When she comes face-to-face with its owner, how will she react to the intruder?

EastEnders fans can expect a tough time for the Mitchells next week as Carl White's family become increasingly suspicious over his disappearance and decide to take drastic action.

The Mitchell clan's attempts to cover up Carl's murder will come under severe threat when the bad boy's loved ones edge closer to the truth in dramatic episodes.

The drama kicks off when Carl's mother Nora starts repeatedly calling his mobile phone, which is still being kept by the Mitchells after his demise. When she gets no response, Nora arrives in Walford to seek answers for herself.

Fans know that Ronnie (Samantha Womack) killed Carl on New Year's Day as her dangerous feud with the villain reached a shocking climax. However, as she quickly disposed of his body, Carl's family are still unaware of what happened.

Nora hopes to meet up with Carl's ex-girlfriend Roxy (Rita Simons) when she first turns up in Walford, but Ronnie knows that she has to take control of the situation herself and agrees to take her sister's place.

Ronnie poses as Roxy in front of Nora and claims that Carl merely left the Square of his own accord, but her risky move backfires as Nora has a photo of both Mitchell sisters and knows that she isn't Roxy.

A nervous Ronnie breathes a sigh of relief when Carl's mum pretends to accept her story, but in reality Nora is more suspicious than ever.

It soon becomes clear that the White family aren't finished with the Mitchells yet when the word "liar" is sprayed across Ronnie's gym. Carl's brother Adam also tries to scare Ronnie at the business, though he fails to reveal who he really is.

After biding his time, Adam seizes an opportunity when he sees Ronnie babysitting Lola Pearce's daughter Lexi. Putting a sinister plan into action, he snatches the youngster.

An EastEnders source told Digital Spy: "Carl's family know that they need some leverage to get the truth out of Ronnie and the Mitchells, so the pressure on the family is going to be bigger than ever."

EastEnders airs these scenes all next week on BBC One.

David (Michael French) is the first person to take the stand as the trial begins in next week's episodes.

Despite having faced a chemotherapy session earlier in the day, David's fiancée Carol Jackson insists on being present in court so that she can support Alice.

Carol knows that David's evidence could be crucial as it was his recording of Janine's confession which led to her arrest at Christmas.

Alice needs as much help as she can get now that Kat Moon has made a false statement against her, but what will David say when he takes the stand?
