Coming up on Emmerdale, Moira Barton surprises Cain Dingle by asking him to marry her.

Cain (Jeff Hordley) is so stunned by Moira's impulsive decision that he finds himself questioning her reasons for asking him.

Moira's choice to pop the question comes just after James Barton has become more vocal about his unresolved feelings for her - infuriating Cain when he finds out.

When Moira (Natalie J Robb) asks Cain to marry her, he fears that she may not be proposing for the right reasons and challenges her on what she's trying to prove.

As a hurt Moira becomes angry and defensive over Cain's negative reaction, how will he respond?

Is Moira proposing for the right reasons?

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, February 10 at 7pm on ITV.

Monday

Moira is set to back out of the business deal, unable to trust James after the previous night's revelations. Alone in the meeting, James is in trouble as Tim makes his displeasure about Moira's non-appearance clear. When Cain presses Moira about what is wrong, she braces herself to tell him. Moments later, Cain is fuming.

Later, when James arrives and pleads with Moira to go back into the meeting, Moira is in a dilemma as to what to do. Cain's anger with James is not to be underestimated, but he urges a torn Moira to go to the meeting if it's what she really wants. Moira is delighted when she and James secure the deal.

That evening, Cain is shocked when Moira asks him to marry her, questioning her reasons for asking. As a result, Moira finds herself angry and on the defence. How will Cain respond?

Meanwhile, when Debbie comes to the café looking for her missing camera, Brenda tries to hide her guilt. An offended Ruby assumes Bob is accusing her of taking it. Harriet encourages Bob to set up a secret camera if he wants to catch the thief. Later, Brenda retrieves Debbie's camera from her 'stash box', clearly getting a thrill from her thieving.

Elsewhere, Priya asks Alicia to tell David to go easy on Leyla. She later assures Leyla that she just needs a friend rather than professional help, but is Leyla out of her depth?

Also today, Victoria begs Finn not to quit his job and warns a self-pitying Pollard that Finn is ready to walk away. Will Pollard put up a fight for his business?

Finally, Bernice is unfazed by Jimmy's pessimism as she looks forward to her date with Anton. Thrilled, Bernice later boasts about how well it went.


Tuesday

Cain is ecstatic about his and Moira's engagement and is pleased when she wants to share their news with everyone. However, Moira is anxious about how James will react. Moira and Cain break their engagement news to Andy, Adam, Pete and an overwhelmed Zak, but it's awkward when James offers his congratulations.

Later, James is pleased to realise that Moira has kept a detail of their past secret from Cain, feeling he now holds a card, but how will he play it? As all celebrate the engagement at the pub, icy glares are exchanged between Cain and James. Is James out to make trouble for the happy couple?

Meanwhile, Victoria tells a concerned Diane that Val and Pollard haven't been talking. Furious with her sister, Diane is frustrated when Victoria appears to defend Val. Later, Diane heads to confront Val but is shocked at the depressed state she finds her in. Despite Val's appearance, Diane lets her know how appalled she is at her actions, but Val is unable to tell her the truth.

Elsewhere, Bob is nervous as he points out his hidden camera to Harriet. Brenda and Ruby suspect Bob is up to something when he appears to be on edge. Later, Bob nervously watches the camera footage with Harriet. Will today be the day they catch the thief?

Also today, Bernice is excited to see her date Anton again.

Wednesday

Victoria warns a dishevelled Val that Eric is starting the divorce proceedings today, and Val is heartbroken when Eric confirms that he's divorcing her. Victoria attempts to look after Val, but turns to tough love when the gentle touch fails. Victoria urges Val to get checked for both hers and Eric's sake.

At the same time, Diane suggests a drink with Eric to cheer him up. Diane and Eric discuss love and relationships as they drink. Once they're tipsy, Diane and Eric offer each other compliments and end up in an embrace. Diane then leads him upstairs…

Meanwhile, after seeing the hidden camera footage of Betty sabotaging her food yesterday, Bob is frustrated when she demands compensation, knowing he can't give away his plot to catch the thief. Later, while Bob is out, Ruby is shocked to discover the hidden camera. Ruby fumes as she tells Sean about it, assuming that it's to catch her out. How will Ruby deal with Bob?

Elsewhere, Bernice's awkwardness over introducing Anton to Rodney soon changes into delight when they arrange a lunch date at hers tomorrow. Nicola is delighted, hoping they may get shot of her soon. Rodney encourages Bernice to take things slowly with Anton, but she's not having any of it.

Also today, Chas returns to the village and promptly arranges a date with James. Moira decides not to tell Cain. Moira also admires her engagement ring but feels awkward when James arrives home.


Thursday

A hungover Diane tells a mortified Eric that they need to talk about what happened last night, but he backs away, incapable of discussing it. Later, Eric is relieved when Diane tells him that last night was a mistake.

At the same time, Victoria is taken aback to find Val packing. Victoria decides to tell Diane that Val is leaving and begs her to stop her from going. Victoria is forced to tell her the truth about Ian and the HIV, and guilty Diane is horrified as she takes the news in…

Meanwhile, Bernice warns Jimmy and Nicola to stay away from the house later while she has her date Anton there. A nervous Bernice shows Anton 'her' house, curious about the large holdall he's carrying. However, the moment that he pulls a bottle of champagne out, Bernice is smitten. A tipsy Bernice laps up Anton's attention as he starts to kiss her and she's thrilled when the chat gets flirty.

Later, Jimmy and Nicola return home to find the place in disarray as they've been burgled. They hear Bernice calling for help and Nicola rushes upstairs. She's appalled to find an embarrassed Bernice cuffed to the bed.

Elsewhere, Ruby is mysterious about her plan for revenge against Bob and during her shift keeps 'innocently' moving the camera. Ruby is determined to get payback and takes the camera but is shocked by what she sees - Brenda stealing a scarf! Ruby asks Bob for a private word and he's stunned when she tells him that Brenda is the thief.

Also, Gemma is eager to get to school and Vanessa senses a boy is involved. Sean is miffed when Gemma leaves for a date with Nathan.

Finally, Pete warns James to be careful with Chas and remember whose sister she is. James brushes it off, looking forward to his date.

Diane's head is spinning with guilt and alarm as she processes Victoria's revelation. She suppresses her own fears and comforts an upset Val after telling her that she knows the truth. Val fights back tears as she pours her heart out to Diane.

Diane encourages her sister to get tested and tell Eric, but is secretly getting increasingly more shaken by the reality of the situation. Hiding her own alarm, Diane assures a remorseful that Val they'll get through things together, telling her that she'll book her another clinic appointment.

Meanwhile, Bob is confused and upset as Ruby shows him the video footage of Brenda stealing a customer's scarf. Ruby accepts Bob's apology for accusing her and tells him to go easy on Brenda. Will Bob be able to get Brenda to open up and tell him the truth?

Elsewhere, things are going well on Chas's date with James, but she feels compelled to ask him if there's a reason she's been warned off him twice that evening, once by Cain and once by Dan. James admits that he wasted a lot of years over someone, but insists he's over her now. Content with his answer and blissfully unaware he was talking about Moira, Chas lets herself get closer to James.

Also, Eric admits to David that he had a drunken fling, but it has made him realise how much he misses Val.

Finally, Dom is concerned that Gemma is being bullied at school and is grateful when Belle agrees to talk to her, while Bernice feels humiliated as she relays her version of events with Anton to the police.


Friday

Looking on the internet, Diane sees that there are drugs which could help her. At a clinic, an edgy Diane feels way out of her comfort zone as she waits to be seen by a doctor.

Soon afterwards, Diane sits nervously opposite Doctor Swash. She's awkward as she lies about being exposed to HIV, but she's overcome with relief when Dr Swash agrees to give her the drugs. Back at the village, Diane is guilty as she tries to convince Val to tell Pollard about her HIV worries.

Meanwhile, Alicia panics when she realises that her necklace is missing and Brenda is left flabbergasted when Bob accuses her of stealing it and his Valentine's gift. Brenda can't bear to be around Bob, as she produces the receipt and storms out. Bob feels dreadful, but could Brenda have really stolen from Alicia?

Elsewhere, Gemma feels left out when Sean and Belle are together.

Also today, Bernice feels worse when Jimmy realises that Anton has stolen Carl's cufflinks and they're frustrated that the police won't do anything.

Finally, Cain manipulates James into agreeing to go to France on a business trip so he stays away from Chas.
