Home and Away producer Lucy Addario has teased a number of upcoming plots for the soap.

She revealed a number of characters will be returning to the Bay to cause havoc, following the success of Sally's (Kate Ritchie) return.

Addario told TV Week: "There will be another familiar face returning to Summer Bay in 2014. However, this character is of the bad kind, seeking revenge.... it's revenge that will devastate The Bay!"

She said that wouldn't be the only surprise, adding: "A very unexpected - and pregnant - blast from the past will arrive in the Bay!

"This pregnancy will change everything for one of Summer Bay's most-loved couples."

The producer also opened up about recent arrival Phoebe (Isabella Giovinazzo), saying: "You think you've met Phoebe, but there is so much more of this vivacious character to get to know.

"Isabella has brought a fabulous, outrageous energy to Phoebe. She's allowed us access to a different side to the brooding Kyle Braxton (Nic Westaway). Phoebe's going to mix up life as we know it in the Braxton world."

So the barmaid Heath slept with on his bucks night is pregnant with his baby. Bianca will be furious.

Three Home and Away characters will be left in serious danger when they are held at knife-point in an upcoming storyline.

Sasha Bezmel, Irene Roberts and Spencer and Chris Harrington will find themselves caught up in a hostage situation with Irene when newcomer Sean turns up at Irene's house after being injured in an earlier fight with Kyle.

As previously reported, Sean arrives in Summer Bay unexpectedly looking for Andy Barrett, wanting revenge for a past crime.

After being injured during the fight and unable to seek proper medical help, Sean goes looking for Sasha and Spencer (Andrew Morley) after hearing that their fathers are doctors.

However, when a concerned Irene (Lynne McGranger) offers her support and suggests she take Sean to the hospital, this infuriates him and he demands that everyone stay put until one of their dads arrives.

Demi Harman, who plays Sasha, said to TV Week: "It is all very unexpected. Sasha has no idea where this guy has come from. He is not in the best shape."

Harman continued: "Irene is the most stressed. There are teenagers there and she feels responsible for them.

"Sasha is terrified. She is usually strong and not one to be pushed around but in this situation, she is very vulnerable."

Things go from bad to worse for Sasha when Sean decides that he will have to take her hostage on her own, as he goes to the hospital to seek medical attention. However, Chris decides to take this opportunity and wrestle the knife away from Sean.

Harman said: "It's all very quick and someone does actually get hurt."
