Over on Emmerdale, newcomer Pete Barton sparks tensions when he starts drug dealing in a desperate bid to solve his family's financial problems.
Pete (Anthony Quinlan) and his father James (Bill Ward) are hoping that they can move out of Moira's home and start again by taking over a tenant farm, but everything seems to be well out of their price range.
Later this month, Pete's bad boy brother Ross (Michael Parr) becomes suspicious when his older sibling suddenly has lots of cash. When Ross then finds out that Pete has a bag of pills in his possession, it soon becomes clear how he's been making the money.
As the Barton duo row about the pills, James suddenly walks in and immediately assumes that the drugs must belong to Ross.
Before Pete can explain anything, a furious James chucks Ross out and punches him. Will Pete come clean or let Ross take the blame?

Ross is knocked to the ground
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday, January 30 at 7pm on ITV.
Monday
Kerry is all over Dan as she tends to his wounds, still under the illusion that he was mugged. Ali and Dan reluctantly decide that they have no choice but to let things lie with Charity and Declan, worried about what they are capable of.
At the same time, the Dingles remain exasperated with Sam's determination to run away with Rachel as he continues to wait for her call. Sam is stunned when Ali sternly tells him to give it up, as Rachel clearly lied to everyone. Sam declares that he will never give up on Rachel, leaving Jai thoughtful and forming a plan all of his own.
Meanwhile, Jacob makes it clear that he's not happy about David and Alicia's decision to kick Leyla out. Leyla is also unhappy about the situation and is later conflicted when an eager Jacob tells her that he'll give her the money so that she can live with Katie. But how will David and Alicia react to hear about these living arrangements?
Elsewhere, Adam tries to convince his family that he and Katie are serious when they tease him about their relationship.
Also today, an awkward Harriet tries to avoid Dom, but the pair eventually manage to clear the air.
Finally, Dan and Ali talk about putting the baby plans in motion again.

Hour-long episode
Cain resorts to violence to get Charity to confess
Declan and Charity arrive back in the village, but it's not long before a menacing Cain appears at Mulberry, intent on getting answers from Charity. Cain is happy to resort to drastic measures in the hope that she will admit to her part in the fire and framing Rachel.
Cain menacingly threatens Charity by submerging her head in a sink full of water, telling her what Sam's been through in a bid to get her to confess. Will Cain succeed, or will an unlikely person come to Charity's rescue?
At the same time, Sam continues to snap at anyone who doubts Rachel, but is both surprised and intrigued when Jai suggests that they can unite in their quest to find Rachel and Archie. Sam is torn as Jai relays his plan, insisting that he'll foot the bill and pay for the best solicitor once she's found. But is Jai's offer as genuine as it appears, or is he secretly scheming to another end?
Meanwhile, Eric milks the situation as Val panders to him, worried about his health. Dr Cavanagh assures Val that Eric has only got the flu, but she is upset when she finds out that Eric didn't receive a blood test and her plan has been thwarted. She cries to an awkward Marlon, who then believes Eric's illness to be more serious than just the flu.
When Val is out of sight, Eric is a lot sprightlier, popping the thermometer onto a radiator, but soon he is rumbled by Victoria who orders him to tell a worried Val the truth. But the day takes a further turn when an anxious Val arranges to meet Ian, and Eric spots her getting out of his car. Thinking the worst, Eric confronts her. Will Val be able to explain herself?
Elsewhere, Pete grudgingly turns down Andy's offer to live with him, but later when Ross tells Andy that he'll move in with him instead, Andy rebuffs the idea.
Also today, Leyla picks up on Priya's odd behaviour and worries when she notes how little Priya is eating.
Finally, Bernice decides to throw a beer festival to try and impress James, while Declan seems intent on mixing business with pleasure where Charity is concerned.
Wednesday
Realising that Val hasn't yet moved out, David and Alicia agree to let Eric stay with them. Victoria is furious to hear that Val and Eric have broken up over an affair and heads over to confront Val. Val answers the door in tears and Victoria begins to lay into her, but she is soon shocked when Val reveals her HIV secret.
Victoria feels sorry for Val as she frantically worries about the potential problems that doing a HIV test could present. Victoria urges her to tell Eric, but will she?
Meanwhile, Pete is cagey when Ross finds wads of cash in his pocket and knows something is going on. Ross is hacked off when Andy makes it clear that he has no chance of moving in with him. But later Ross is irked to hear that both Adam and Pete are moving into Andy's.
Elsewhere, Declan and Charity have clearly met their match in one another as they put on a romantic display for everyone to see. Declan arranges to stay with Charity, but unbeknownst to the village, Declan will be sleeping on the floor. But their banter is flirty and the attraction between them palpable.
Also today, James uses his charm to talk Bernice into ordering more stock for her planned beer festival but unbeknown to her, it's to keep Moira happy.
Finally, Bernice orders a wench outfit for her festival, while Alicia is grateful when Brenda offers her comfort in regards to her situation with Jacob.
Thursday
Pete and Ross bicker about the money, but Pete is left feeling ashamed when Ross finds his bag of pills. When Ross pushes Pete too far he unleashes his rage, telling his brother that he had no choice with all the debt they were in. Ross lays into Pete about drug dealing, but is secretly pleased that his brother is not so squeaky clean after all.
As the brothers row, James walks in. James immediately assumes the pills are Ross's and furiously chucks him out before Pete can get a word in. James hits Ross hard, knocking him to the floor, to the horror of the rest of the family. Will Pete own up about the pills?
Meanwhile, David is worried when he hears Val tell Finn that her marriage is over. Val is angry with Victoria when she gives her some HIV support literature. Val burns the leaflets as Victoria tries to comfort her over her concern about word of her secret spreading.
Elsewhere, Brenda can't help but show her envy as she and Bob watch a video that Georgia has sent over from Canada of her and Molly. Brenda comes to tidy the café on her day off and steals a purse from a rude customer. Could this thieving be becoming a habit?
Also, Marlon and Alicia help Bernice prepare for her German beer festival, and they suspect she's only organised it to try to pull James. Clearly having over-ordered, Bernice tries to push her newly created 'cheesy sausages' onto the underwhelming turn out at the beer festival.
Finally, Moira is sad as Adam leaves home, but Cain is pleased that he is one step closer to having Moira all to himself. Despite Moira making it clear she doesn't want to call a vet to her cows, James takes control by calling the surgery himself.
James refuses to believe that Pete isn't covering for Ross over the drugs and a hurt Ross leaves. James is appalled when he finally realises that Pete is telling the truth as he explains that he started selling drugs to keep them afloat, resentful that his dad took him for granted for so long.
James hugs Pete, apologising as Ross enters. Pete encourages James to make peace with Ross and he tries to stop him from leaving, but will Ross be able to forgive his father?
Meanwhile, Brenda hides her panic when Suzie returns to look for her purse. When Suzie suggests that Ruby stole it Bob is quick to defend her, but is worried as Suzie storms out, mentioning the police. Brenda fears further repercussions when Bob later confides that he is worried Ruby did actually steal the purse.
Elsewhere, Nicola is forced to confess to Bernice that they exaggerated James's interest in her.
Also, Victoria encourages Val to talk to Eric.
Friday
Brenda guiltily tries to persuade Bob that Ruby isn't a thief, but he struggles to drop his suspicions. Later, Ruby is hurt and offended when Bob accuses her. She walks out, feeling betrayed that she doesn't have his trust. A guilty Brenda is horrified to hear that Ruby has walked out of the cafe after Bob's accusations. She orders Bob to apologise, but he's more sure than ever that Ruby is the culprit.
Later in town, Brenda slips an MP3 player into another customer's pocket in the hope of causing a distraction for when she finally makes her move in stealing another device. As the other customer sets the store alarm off, Brenda takes her moment and swiftly leaves with the stolen MP3 player. However, she is terrified when she is caught out by another security guard. Brenda pleads with him to give her a break and promises that she won't shoplift again, explaining the recent trauma she's been through. He is sympathetic, but will he still call the police?
Meanwhile, despite the Bartons desperately trying to change his mind, Andy sticks to his guns and tells them that Ross isn't staying with him any longer. Later, Ross is left feeling defeated when his efforts of winning Andy round fail. At Butlers, Moira reminds Andy that she and John helped him out when he needed it, which leaves him thoughtful about Ross.
Elsewhere, Marlon tries to reassure Pollard that he and Val will get back together.
Also today, Jai overhears Marlon tell an unimpressed Lisa that Sam is still looking for Rachel, while Bernice is left more depressed than ever when she gets ditched by her date Colin.
I wonder if Eric has got HIV..He was coughing last night and flu like symptoms could be an early sign of infection. But could Val be only carrier without getting sick?
