Holby City star David Ames has teased his character Dominic Copeland's return, revealing that it will cause a lot of friction.

It was previously announced that Ames was reprising his role as Dominic and his return is bound to raise eyebrows at the hospital.

Viewers last saw Dominic leave Holby in shame after jeopardising the career of colleague and mentor Antoine Malick and lying under oath in order to get revenge following their one-night stand.

Ames said to TV Choice: "Dominic is definitely going to spice things up and he's someone who is going to cause a lot of sparks."

"Working alongside Arthur, who was close to Malick, inevitably will cause friction.

Discussing the reasons why Dominic returns to the hospital, Ames said: "Due to the fact that he is incredibly ambitious. What happened was a massive blow for him and he has struggled to regain respect - he lied to a jury. Now he is very much pushing his career forward."

Holby City airs Dominic's return on Tuesday, January 14 at 8pm on BBC One.
