Sonya initially gets to know Jacob (Clayton Watson) online. When they meet in person for the first time, she discovers that he is struggling following the death of his wife and becomes determined to help him.

Caring Sonya starts to support Jacob, but he ends up dumping his baby son Elliott on her and taking off unexpectedly - leaving Sonya and her husband Toadie to wonder whether he will ever return.

Jacob is full of apologies when he arrives back in Erinsborough a few days later, but the trouble he poses for the Rebecchis is far from over as he starts to fall for Sonya.

A Neighbours source told Digital Spy: "Toadie has always been worried about Sonya getting close to Jacob, fearing that he is taking advantage of her kind nature - but neither he nor Sonya ever suspected that Jacob's feelings would get so confused."

Neighbours fans will see whether Toadie and Sonya's marriage is tested by the situation next month.

This is the moment that Neighbours newcomer Jacob Holmes kisses new friend Sonya Rebecchi as she continues to support him following his recent troubles.

Sonya (Eve Morey) has been getting closer to Jacob (Clayton Watson) since meeting him online and later discovering that he was struggling since the death of his wife.

Jacob decides to act on his growing feelings for Sonya later this month and surprises her with a spontaneous kiss.

Although Jacob apologises straight away, a guilty Sonya is left feeling torn and wants to come clean with husband Toadie (Ryan Moloney).

Jacob desperately begs Sonya not to, but when Callum senses that there is something going on between them, Sonya decides to be upfront. She tells Jacob they can no longer spend time together and goes home to tell Toadie everything - but an unexpected twist sees her plan scuppered…

Neighbours airs these scenes on Friday, January 31 and Monday, February 3 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
