EastEnders bosses have officially announced the casting of Rachel Wilde as Terry Spraggan's ex-wife Nikki.

Nikki is the mother of Terry's two children and will shake up Bianca Butcher's home life next month.

Viewers have recently seen Bianca (Patsy Palmer) get a chance at happiness after returning to Albert Square with Terry (Terry Alderton) as her new man.

In early December, however, Nikki arrives in Walford unexpectedly and her presence could pose a threat to Bianca.

Nikki is an air hostess and is described as "beautiful, charming and utterly lovely to Bianca".

Despite this, Bianca feels that Nikki isn't all that she seems - especially as she has already seen off a few of Terry's past girlfriends.

Nikki will begin interfering with Bianca's plans over the festive period, and things come to a head over Christmas dinner at the Jackson/Spraggan household.

Wilde commented: "I am so excited to be joining EastEnders. It's my first acting role and what an amazing role it is!

"Nikki causes a lot of drama and gets a very frosty reception from Bianca. I'm really enjoying playing her and working with such excellent actors, including Patsy Palmer and Terry Alderton. Patsy and I have some great scenes together and I can't wait for everyone to see them."

Nikki's first appearance will air in an hour-long episode on Monday, December 2 at 8pm on BBC One.

EastEnders newcomer Nikki Spraggan looks set to cause more trouble next week as David Wicks catches her eye.

Viewers have already seen Nikki (Rachel Wilde) spark big problems for her ex-husband Terry's romance with Bianca Butcher, as she seemed unwilling to let him move on with his life.

It appears that Nikki has a new target in upcoming episodes as she flirts with David (Michael French) during a karaoke party at the Queen Vic.

When Nikki makes a move on David, will he reciprocate her advances? And how much will Carol, Bianca and Whitney spot when they suddenly appear?

Carol (Lindsey Coulson) is also on the receiving end of romantic advances next week as her ex-partner Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra) wants her back.

Although Carol is happy now that she's back with David, she still cares about Masood and helps him to clean up when he accidentally cuts his hand.
