Cain and Moira are becoming boring, on and off again. Totally agree with Katie, be nice to see them happy, maybe a wedding in the near future. By the sounds of things he knocked back Charity, as least I hope he did. LOL

I think he does knock her back. The scriptwriters seem determined to give Cain and Moira a rocky ride, it would be nice to see them thinking out of the box for a change.

Cain has to have a rocky ride??!! Him and Moira in slippers in front of the fire just wouldnt work? So I like them together, and I like the element that Moira tames him a bit.....but only a bit....

Meanwhile, Emmerdale's Barton family will be the victims of a shocking attack as Ross continues to bring trouble to their doorstep.

Next month, Ross is concerned by the reappearance of bad boy Marcus, who was central to the job that got him injured last month.

Wanting payback after the planned crime went wrong, Marcus and his men head to Butler's farm, beat up Adam (Adam Thomas) and lock Moira (Natalie J Robb) in a van as they cause carnage.

Marcus and his gang of men head to Butlers Farm.

The thugs trash the house as well as stealing and destroying vital equipment for the farm's day-to-day running.

Later, Cain and Ross arrive back to sheer devastation. Realising he is to blame, how will Ross react? And will this be another obstacle for Cain and Moira's relationship?

Emmerdale airs these scenes in an hour-long episode on Thursday, December 5 at 7pm on ITV

Moira Barton is left fearing her son Adam has been killed when a gang of thugs storm the farm and destroy it. Gangster Marcus comes looking for Ross Barton, hell bent on revenge for a deal they worked on. Screaming Moira gets locked in the back of a van while Marcus' cronies give Adam a savage beating. And with him out of the way they set about destroying the farm, damaging equipment and setting fire to the barn.

Emmerdale couple Alicia Harding and David Metcalfe look set to take centre stage in the soap's Christmas episodes as they book their wedding for December 25.

The loved-up pair set the date for their ceremony in next week's episodes, wanting to make a commitment to each other sooner rather than later.

Although Alicia (Natalie Anderson) and David (Matthew Wolfenden) are thrilled to have a joyful Christmas season ahead, they're well aware that their decision could prove controversial.

With pregnant Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) still heartbroken after losing David, it's unclear how she may take the news so soon after her own wedding plans were left in tatters.

Viewers will see David propose to Alicia later this week due to a misunderstanding involving Jacob.

Although neither David nor Alicia had planned it, they soon decide to go ahead with tying the knot.

In an attempt to win Charity back, Jai buys her a flashy new car, but while she may seem temporarily impressed, her smile fades to rage.

Later, Charity asks Cain to sell the car for her, offering to split the profits in a bid to keep him quiet about her drunken come-on. When Charity tells Jai that she has given the car to Cain, he does not quite react as she might have expected.

Meanwhile, Laurel faces her court appearance with dread, keen to get the whole thing over and done with. She is upset at the injustice when she is told to pay Ross's fees after he is portrayed as the helpless victim. When they return to the village, Laurel encourages Marlon to go for drinks with Paddy and Rhona, but all fail to notice a hiding Ross. Later, Laurel is shocked when a dishevelled Ross darts in to Tall Trees demanding his money.

Elsewhere, David and Alicia are ecstatic to book their wedding for Christmas Day, but they worry about how other people may take the news. Will people object to this wedding before they even make it down the aisle?

Also today, Ruby and Ali feel bad as they issue a stunned Dan with guidelines to increase fertility, but how will Kerry react when she learns the rules?

Tuesday

Hour-long episode

Moira struggles with her conscience and the thought of facing people following Laurel's verdict, but she is relieved when Marlon softens towards her. However, the truce does not last long as they are interrupted by Cain, who is throwing Ross out of the barn that he has been sleeping in.

Ross asks if he can stay a few nights. Rightly or wrongly, Moira agrees on the proviso that he make amends with Laurel and Marlon. However, Ross's apology backfires and with the reappearance of Marcus, it seems that trouble is set to follow this Barton wherever he goes…

Meanwhile, Debbie advises Charity to walk away from Jai, but is appalled to see her mum wavering. Charity knows she should turn her back on Jai but finds herself wanting him. A fired-up Jai tells Charity that he needs her and that they can get through this. He is truly elated when she agrees. The Sharmas are shocked when Jai explains that he and Charity are giving it another go. But how will the Dingles react to the news?

Elsewhere, with Kerry missing Amy, she offers to chauffeur Amelia to the pageant, but Amelia is downhearted when Kerry appears less than enthused about her routine. Later, Kerry and an overly-made-up Amelia arrive for the pageant and soon become irritated with reigning champion Bianca. However, big kid Kerry ensures Bianca will not have the upper hand this time around. Kerry goes to join Ali and Dan who have since arrived, but it seems the parents are not quite prepared for what Amelia has in store for them.

Also today, Rodney's escorting services continue to be divisive, with Georgia declaring herself his manager and Nicola and Bernice being far from impressed.

Finally, a demanding Gabby pushes Marlon and Laurel about Christmas presents but they're distracted when Laurel gets a letter about her fine. Bernice is amused by Gabby's perseverance about wanting a pony.

Wednesday

Ross steals money from Moira's drawer when he gets a threatening text reminder from Marcus. Acting the innocent, he offers to help Cain at work. Although suspicious of his motives, Cain is swayed by Moira and relents. At the garage, Debbie is aghast when Ross turns up to work and makes her feelings known to Cain.

Later, Ross slips in to collect his bag and makes his exit under the pretence of it not being worth the grief from Debbie, before making his way to the bus stop. Cain darkens when he realises that money has gone missing.

Everyone rushes to Ross and Gabby's aid.
Everyone rushes to Ross and Gabby's aid.
At the same time, an annoyed Gabby is bunking off school, cross that she is not allowed a pony and holding Laurel responsible. But when Laurel spots her, a row ensues and Gabby bolts into the road. Ross, who has witnessed the exchange, clocks the arriving bus and instinctively throws himself in its path. He pushes Gabby out of the way, taking the full force. Will Ross be okay? Could he prove to be Laurel's unlikely hero?

Meanwhile, Charity insists that she, Jai, Noah and Archie should go out as a family, but it's clear that it isn't going to be easy for her. Rachel also seems awkward about the set-up. But as Charity tries her best to muster through a trip to Santa's grotto, her composure breaks when Santa calls her "mum".

Elsewhere, Pollard guesses that a lady waiting at the café is there to meet Rodney and deliberately scares her off. Rodney later fumes to realise that Pollard has meddled in his business and soon Bob has to intervene to stop the two from going for one another.

Thursday

Hour-long episode

Ross distracts himself from his worries at the pub. At the same time, Marcus and his gang of men head to Butler's Farm. Things turn nasty when the men hold Moira back, lock her in the van and set upon Adam.

Later, Cain and Ross arrive to sheer devastation. Butler's is trashed and an ambulance is called. Ross realises he is to blame, while Moira and Cain are at loggerheads. What will come of all of this?

Meanwhile, when Jai overhears Charity talking to Noah about all the fighting, Jai realises that he needs to do something about it. Will he be able to win her round?

Elsewhere, Rodney worries that his meeting with Janet could get him in hot water with her husband Dougie. Keen to point the finger elsewhere, he tells an arriving Dougie that Pollard is the one having the affair with his wife. Moments later, Dougie punches Pollard, while telling Val that he has been sleeping with his wife. Val punches Dougie and fumes to think that Pollard has been doing the dirty. Soon Val learns the truth of the situation and she and Pollard plot to get their own back on Rodney. When their plan involves faking Pollard's death, could this cause Rodney to have a heart attack of his own?

Also today, Jude sets Ashley and Harriet their next task to prove their worth for the vicar job. Harriet looks confident to win as she enlists the help of some rehabilitated youth offenders to assist in the re-tiling of the church roof. However, later when she chases Sean off after he attempts to nick some slate, Ashley realises that she's been spinning a few white lies as he enjoys reminding a suddenly energetic Harriet of her supposed "bad back".

Friday

Moira visits James at his farm to borrow some kit, meeting Finn and Pete too. She is shocked to find James's farm in a state of disrepair.

Later, Cain wonders where Moira has got to and worries that he is losing her. The pair argue when Moira returns and she fumes to learn that Charity made a pass at him. Moira questions how she can ever trust Cain. Could it all be over for the couple?

Meanwhile, Adam refuses to accept Ross's apology. Ross is soon jealous when Katie is tending to an injured Adam. Ross is stung when Adam says that Katie wouldn't be interested in a homeless loser like him anyway.

Elsewhere, nervous that Declan might hear, Megan declines Gil's offer to work with him and continues to talk the talk for Home Farm. Later, Megan is apprehensive to tell a volatile Declan that Gil won't be buying any of his properties, but she quickly tries to soften the blow by suggesting that he may still invest in them. How will Declan take the news?

Also today, Harriet remains unapologetic over her rough handling of Sean. Ashley encourages Ali to report Harriet's inappropriate behaviour to the Bishop.

Finally, Rodney questions his choice of career.

Emmerdale newcomers Anthony Quinlan and Joe Gill will make their debut on screen next week as the newest members of the Barton family.

Moira will pay a visit to James's farm, where he lives with his other two sons Pete (Quinlan) and Finn (Gill). Fans have already been introduced to their brother Ross (Michael Parr).

However, when Moira arrives at the farm, she is shocked to find it in a complete state of disrepair and feels inclined to help.

Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, said: "With the recession and because James has given so much time looking for Ross, he's let his farm go downhill.

"James's son Pete is trying to run it himself singlehandedly and it just doesn't work - it's a full-on job to be a cattle farmer. That's what he used to be known for. So he's still got his cattle, but that's it really - it's not really doing anything. Nobody's really interested.

"It's a total shock to Moira. She just thinks, 'God, he's in a worse state than I am', and she ends up offering him help."

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Friday, December 6 at 7pm on ITV.

Emmerdale's Laurel Thomas has another tense encounter with bad boy Ross Barton this evening (December 2).

Tonight's episode sees Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) ordered to pay £500 compensation to Ross as she appears in court over their feud.

Although Laurel is livid over the injustice of Ross (Michael Parr) being portrayed as the innocent victim, she is relieved that the punishment wasn't more severe.

Later, while Laurel is home alone, Ross turns up and demands to be paid his compensation money immediately. When Laurel refuses, will she be able to get the better of Ross?

Emmerdale's residents see another side to bad boy Ross Barton this evening (December 4) as he risks his own life to save Gabby Thomas.

Gabby is at the centre of a shocking moment in tonight's episode as she inadvertently runs out in front of Diane Sugden's oncoming car following a row with her stepmum Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy).

When Ross (Michael Parr) witnesses the danger, he makes an instinctive and selfless decision to rush out in front of the vehicle and get Gabby out of harm's way.

Laurel is hugely relieved that Gabby is okay, but after her turbulent history with Ross, can she really bring herself to thank him?
