EastEnders has lined up a shock romance twist for Janine Butcher and Joey Branning.
The unlikely pair will sleep together on the day of Michael Moon's funeral later this month, reports have revealed.
Janine (Charlie Brooks) is currently at the centre of a huge storyline as she has successfully framed Joey's sister Alice for Michael's murder.
Janine's plan has worked so perfectly that Alice (Jasmyn Banks) is sent to jail to await trial for the crime.
However, Joey (David Witts) knows that something isn't right and repeatedly urges Janine to admit that his fragile sibling isn't capable of killing anybody.
When Janine continues to insist that Alice is guilty, Joey starts growing closer to the schemer and they end up spending the night together after he heads to her house with a bottle of wine.
Viewers will then be left guessing over whether Janine is using Joey, or whether he is the one with a devious plan to expose her deception.
EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, November 19 at 7.30pm on BBC One.

Alice (Jasmyn Banks) has found herself in a terrible situation in recent days, as she has been charged with the murder of Michael Moon.

However, when Joey arrives at the jail for his latest visit, he is forced to break the news that Janine is sticking to her story and is still blaming Alice for everything.
