Coming up on EastEnders, Alfie Moon and Roxy Mitchell return to Walford in high spirits following their holiday.

The couple appear to be back on track and have agreed to stay away from Ronnie and Kat for the sake of their relationship.

When Alfie (Shane Richie) arrives at The Vic to find Kat (Jessie Wallace) behind the bar, he sticks to his end of the bargain by telling her that she has to leave. Roxy also informs Ronnie that she can't see her anymore.

Ronnie (Samantha Womack) is devastated by her sister's decision, while Kat is quick to warn Alfie that this plan won't fix the underlying problems in his romance with Roxy. Taking this on board, Alfie starts trying to make an effort with Ronnie, inviting her to the wedding.

The next day, Ronnie bumps into Alfie and Kat in the café but is unnerved to see the intimacy that still exists between them. Will she tell Roxy that she fears there is still love between the two?

Monday

Michael can't get hold of Alice after recent events. Joey and Kat demand answers from Michael, presuming that Alice's disappearance must have something to do with him, but he protests his innocence and insists that Alice will be back tomorrow. Soon afterwards, when Michael overhears that it's Janine's birthday tomorrow, he comes up with a plan and writes out a birthday card to her - while glancing over at the bottle of pills on the table.

Later, a lonely Janine is surprised when Michael comes to visit her. Touched that he is the only person to remember her big day, Janine invites him over for dinner tomorrow. Michael is delighted, knowing that he now has the opportunity to implement his plan...

Alfie and Roxy resolve to stay away from Kat and Ronnie.
Alfie and Roxy arrive home.
Meanwhile, Alfie and Roxy return loved up after their holiday and have agreed to stay away from Ronnie and Kat for the sake of their relationship. They waste little time before sharing the news with Ronnie and Kat, leaving both women shocked. Kat points out to Alfie that not seeing her and Ronnie won't solve his and Roxy's problems. Later, Alfie appears to have taken the advice on board when he announces that he is moving the wedding forward to November and invites Ronnie.

Elsewhere, Whitney tells the police exactly what she thinks of Dennis and Sharon. Later, she is pleased when the head teacher calls to inform her that she can return to work.

Also today, Billy is looking forward to more football as his injury has healed but Danny puts him on the bench, while Roxy is surprised to hear that Jack has left Walford.

Tuesday

Michael arrives at Janine's with the pills. Both Michael and Janine try to work out if the other is playing games. As they sit down for a meal, Janine makes it clear that she won't let Michael be part of Scarlett's life as she wants her daughter to have a normal upbringing. As Janine leaves the room, Michael is given the perfect opportunity to put the pills in Janine's drink. However, when Michael hears Scarlett over the baby monitor, he has second thoughts and puts the pills away.

Later, back at home, Michael is angry with himself for not going through with it. Suddenly, Alice arrives home and admits that she did consider going to the police, but changed her mind as she knows how much Scarlett means to Michael. Alice reveals that she now wants to help Michael get rid of Janine once and for all…

Meanwhile, Alfie continues trying to make an effort with Ronnie and invites her for dinner. Ronnie decides to make life easier by inviting Phil as a buffer, but the evening starts out more awkwardly that anyone expected. Surprisingly, Ronnie and Alfie end up bonding over a game of cards. Roxy then admits that she wants Ronnie to give her away and Alfie delights the Mitchell sisters by agreeing.

Ronnie bumps into Alfie and Kat and sees the intimacy that still exists between them.
Alfie and Kat's closeness worries Ronnie.
The only problem with the new-found truce is that Ronnie strongly suspects there is still love between Alfie and Kat, having spotted them appearing cosy at the café. Ronnie warns Alfie that if he hurts her sister, she will come down on him like a ton of bricks.

Elsewhere, David wants to have dinner alone with Carol and bribes his grandchildren to go out, but they scupper his plans by staying in. Later, Carol is unnerved when David admits that he is considering staying put.

Also today, Jay is injured during the football match and Billy scores a hat trick when he steps in to replace him. Billy also gets an idea when he sees the money the team has raised for Dot's church roof fund in Danny's locker. Later, Danny realises that he has lost the money, leaving everyone unimpressed.

Thursday

Alice starts to have second thoughts about going along with Michael's plans, but he uses his manipulative ways to get her back on side. Alice is relieved when she realises that Janine can't be persuaded to go to The Vic's Halloween party tonight, as it means the plan is off. However, suddenly Janine calls Michael, putting the plan back into action.

Alice heads to Janine's to carry out Michael's plan, while Michael goes to The Vic and waits for news from her. Soon afterwards, we see Alice leaving Janine's house, shaking. Michael then receives a worrying call from Alice. He rushes straight home and finds Alice with blood on her hands…

Meanwhile, Peter and Lucy are planning to celebrate Halloween with a scary movie night at home, but they need to find a way to get rid of Cindy. Cindy can sense this, and so winds them up by refusing to go out tonight. Lola finally manages to get Cindy out of the way by getting her to babysit Bella. Later at the Beale house, the gang keep hearing noises and jump out of their skin when Cindy scares them.

Elsewhere, Sadie has a good night at The Vic's Halloween party and starts feeling more like she's part of Walford.

Also today, Billy 'discovers' the missing money and is the hero of the day. Danny realises what really went on, but admits to Billy that he has earned his respect.

Friday

Alice tells Michael that she thinks Janine is dead, but the plan didn't play out as they'd intended. Michael cleans Janine's blood off Alice's hands, before explaining that he needs to go to Janine's house to clear up the mess. He puts Alice to bed and tries to sneak out of the house, but Kat catches him. Michael makes his excuses and leaves.

Trying to avoid being spotted by the locals who are enjoying Halloween in the Square, Michael finds himself at Janine's house - and is shocked to find Janine very much alive.

In a dramatic turn of events, Janine and Michael's final showdown takes place - and Alice finds herself in the middle. One of them will die, and as the murder takes place, the other two individuals' lives will change forever…
