Neighbours bosses have released a trailer previewing the arrival of new character Gemma Reeves.

Kathryn Beck has been cast in the role of Gemma, who is the cousin of established regular Georgia Brooks (Saskia Hampele).

When Gemma pays a visit to Erinsborough, Georgia is delighted to see her in town. Wanting her relative to stay permanently, Georgia convinces her to move into Toadie's house.

Toadie also encourages Susan Kennedy to hire Gemma as a Biology teacher at Erinsborough High when a position opens up at the school.

However, although everything seems to be going well, it will quickly become clear to viewers that Gemma is hiding something as she remains cagey about her past.

Neighbours' official trailer for the storyline has warned that Georgia should be wary around Gemma, who has an "obsession" as she settles in on Ramsay Street.

Beck's previous roles include playing Lily Nelson on Home and Away.

Neighbours airs Gemma's arrival on October 7 in Australia and November 4 in the UK.

Neighbours newcomer Gemma Reeves has been tipped to cause chaos when she joins Ramsay Street.

Show bosses have today (September 30) revealed more information on the guest character, who is the cousin of Georgia Brooks (Saskia Hampele) and Toadie Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney).

Gemma is being billed as a schemer who will "rock Erinsborough to its core" as she settles into the area.

Moving into Ramsay Street, Gemma seems obsessed with Georgia and sets out to divide and conquer anyone who is close to her - including Georgia's boyfriend Kyle Canning (Christopher Milligan) and best friend Kate (Ashleigh Brewer).

Kathryn Beck, who plays Gemma, commented: "I loved playing Gem because she pushes all the boundaries and just when you think she has gone too far, she goes further."

Beck's previous credits include roles in Home and Away, Puberty Blues and All Saints.

Neighbours airs Gemma's arrival on October 7 in Australia and November 4 in the UK.

Not so hidden Gem

Things are heating up in Erinsborough with the arrivial of new hottie - Georiga's cousin, Gemma but it doesn't take long for this blonde bombshell to slip up. "Gem has arrived in Erinsborough to catch up with her favourite cousin - someone she's idolised since they were children," Kathryn Beck, who plays Gemma, tells TV Week. "She arrives in town and she and Kyle litterally bump into each other and he spills coffee on her."

Gemma has no idea Kyle (Chris Milligan) is Georgia's (Saskia Hampele) boyfriend but she likes the look of him and makes a move! "Gem comes on to him not realising who he is," Kathryn says. "It's very awkward!" This isn't the last time we'll see strange behaviour from Gemma, with the actress hinting there's lots more in store. "It's clear that Gem is her to stay, so she moves in with her other cousin, Toadie (Ryan Moloney)," Kathryn hints. "That's when things get interesting..."

Neighbours' Georgia Brooks will turn against Chris Pappas after Kate Ramsay and Kyle Canning's one-night stand is exposed.

As previously reported, Gemma (Kathryn Beck) will expose Kate and Kyle's secret as she continues to try to isolate Georgia.

Georgia (Saskia Hampele) struggles to cope after discovering the betrayal and when she fails to seek comfort in Mason, Georgia turns to Chris for support.

However, after she thanks him for being a good friend, Georgia is soon horrified to realise that he knew all along about Kate and Kyle's night together.

Feeling betrayed, Georgia cuts all ties with him, realising she no longer has any friends in Ramsay Street apart from her family.

Meanwhile, Gemma is secretly delighted that her scheming is all coming together.

Neighbours airs these scenes next week on Eleven in Australia and in January on Channel 5 in the UK.

This is the moment that Neighbours schemer Gemma Reeves leaves Georgia Brooks for dead after the pair escape Ramsay Street later this month.

The cousins decide to take time away from Erinsborough following Georgia's discovery that her best friend Kate Ramsay and boyfriend Kyle Canning had a one-night stand.

However, whilst Gem and Georgia settle into their secluded cottage, Matt delivers some disturbing news back on the street - the police IT department has confirmed that Kate's email account was hacked from Gem's laptop.

Unaware of what is going on back home, Georgia becomes keen to leave, much to Gem's disappointment. However, they soon find that the car won't start, leaving them stuck in the middle of nowhere without food, phones or any way of contacting people.

When Georgia says she's leaving to find help from neighbouring farms, Gem becomes upset and tries to physically stop her from going. Gem then pushes Georgia into the stove and unbeknownst to either of them, the gas knob is engaged and gas begins to seep out.

As Gem becomes increasingly worked up, she sends Georgia falling back, hitting her head on the way down. As Georgia lies motionless, a panicked Gem flees the cottage and abandons her…
