With trouble following close behind, Carol tries to come to terms with David’s shock appearance – but what has brought him back to Walford?

EastEnders' Carol Jackson is left stunned next week when David Wicks arrives on her doorstep unexpectedly.
David (Michael French) will interrupt Carol and Masood's romantic night in together, where Masood is planning to tell Carol that he loves her.
The couple's evening initially gets off to a bad start when Whitney, Liam, Tiffany and Morgan all arrive home early from the cinema. With the youngsters all bickering, Carol (Lindsey Coulson) and Masood (Nitin Ganatra) are left deflated.
After an unexpected family meal, the kids all make themselves scarce and the couple decide to carry on where they left off in the candlelit living room.
Finally alone, Masood and Carol collapse on the sofa where they start to declare their feelings for each other.
Suddenly, the doorbell goes and after trying to ignore it, Carol opens the door and is shocked to see David standing there. David then comes inside the house and wastes no time in making himself at home…

Monday
Without Ava's knowledge, Dexter has been tested for his suitability to be a donor for Sam. However, Sam tells Dexter that he will not accept his kidney if he turns out to be a match. Jay is stunned when he overhears the conversation between them at The Arches. When Abi and Lola also find out what is going on, Lola promises Dexter that she will stand by him whatever he chooses to do.
Later, Ava is heartbroken when she receives news from the hospital that she isn't a match. She is further shocked when Dexter finally confesses that he has been tested. Ava desperately tries to talk Dexter out of doing anything if he's successful. She demands that even if he is a match, they must lie to Sam, as she doesn't want to risk losing them both. Dexter agrees, but later receives news from the hospital that he is a match. What will Dexter do?

Meanwhile, Sharon and Ronnie continue to clash over the way the R&R is being run. Sharon vents her anger to Phil but he isn't interested and offers to buy Sharon's share of R&R. Later, Sharon faces more trouble when she arrives at the school for a meeting with Ava about Dennis. When Ava reads out a list of Dennis's misdemeanours, Sharon loses her cool and storms out, unable to accept that her precious son could do such things.
Elsewhere, Roxy continues to see Ronnie behind Alfie's back, but she is finding it increasingly difficult to sneak around. Ronnie insists that she has served her time and shouldn't be punished anymore, leaving a guilty Roxy wondering how to resolve this tricky situation.
Also today, Lauren takes on a cleaning job at The Vic, a cash-strapped Kirsty convinces Kat to give her a job on the stall in Bianca's absence, Michael sabotages Tamwar's attempts to make things up with Alice, while Joey is disappointed when Lauren ignores his attempts to take care of her.
Tuesday
Dexter tells Ava that he is a match for Sam, but she is adamant that they shouldn't tell him. Dexter agrees not to go through with the operation for Ava's sake, but it's clear that he's struggling with the decision. Soon afterwards, Dexter sees Sam at The Vic and conversation turns to his illness. As a result, Dexter blurts out that he is a match but Ava is too scared to do or say anything.
Back at home later, Sam tells Ava that he knows the truth and doesn't want Dexter to go through with it. However, when Dexter joins them, he declares that he cares about his father and wants to help. Will anyone change Dexter's mind?
Meanwhile, Michael continues to meddle in Alice's love life when he deletes a text from Tamwar from her phone. Later, Tamwar questions Michael on what he wants from Alice and asks Alice why she didn't respond to his text. When Alice realises that Michael has been interfering, she kisses Tamwar - leaving Michael secretly impressed he has a challenger.
Elsewhere, Dot is struggling with raising money for the church, especially when Reverend Stevens turns up and asks her for a financial breakdown of her progress so far.
Also today, Carol is reaching the end of her tether as she juggles the Butcher household while Bianca is away.
Finally, Ian finds Bobby writing a note to Tiffany and forces him to rewrite it to let him know that he is breaking up with her.
Thursday
Masood arrives at the Butcher house for a romantic night in with Carol. They're pleased to have the place to themselves, but not for long as Whitney, Liam, Tiffany and Morgan all arrive home early from the cinema.
After an unexpected family meal, the kids all make themselves scarce, so Masood and Carol decide to carry on where they left off. They start to declare their feelings for each other, but suddenly the doorbell goes. Frustrated that the romantic night has had so many interruptions, Carol opens the door and is shellshocked to find David Wicks standing there…
Meanwhile, Alice and Tamwar are kissing on the sofa at the Masood house, but Tamwar starts to feel awkward when she puts her hand on his knee. Their intimacy is soon disturbed when AJ and Masood walk in. Later, Tamwar and Alice find themselves kissing again at The Vic, but when Alice asks him back to hers, he declines. A frustrated Alice finally makes her feelings known, so Tamwar agrees to go with her and she leads him upstairs to her bedroom.
Elsewhere, Dot is trying to prepare a document for Reverend Stevens when Sharon interrupts by arriving unannounced to leave Dennis with her. Dennis decides to be a real pain and winds Dot up so much that she eventually flares up and shouts at him. Seeing his mum in the doorway, Dennis suddenly plays the victim. Neither of the women notices the sly grin on Dennis's face and Sharon turns on Dot, leaving her devastated.
Friday
As a flustered Carol lets David inside, she notices the Porsche parked outside. Interrupting the cosy evening in, David tells Carol that he was just passing and wants to give Bianca something. Carol is forced to admit that Bianca isn't around.

David introduces Naomi to Carol and Masood.
Soon afterwards, the doorbell rings again and they're joined by Naomi, an attractive married woman who David has brought along. Naomi and David bicker over a case stuffed full of her husband's money. David insists that he wants to give £20,000 to Bianca before they go on the run to Spain. As the row continues, Naomi starts to question their relationship and David callously admits that they are just using each other - he doesn't even like her. As a result, Naomi threatens to call her husband Don, who is David's business partner.
Later, alone with Carol, David admits that it was a mistake to leave her, but Carol refuses to forgive or forget how he treated her in the past. Refusing to give up, David confesses his love for her and emotionally pleads for another chance.
When David and Carol head back downstairs, there's more trouble ahead as Don and two of his friends arrive. They take back the case full of money and the £20,000 David had stuffed in his pocket. David puts up a fight, but the men take the money and his car. As the gang speed away into the night, David is left bloodied and crumpled up into a heap. Will Carol have any sympathy?
Alice Branning tries to convince Tamwar Masood to take their relationship to the next level on EastEnders next week.
Although Alice (Jasmyn Banks) is pleased with her new romance, she becomes confused when Tamwar pushes her away each time things are getting passionate between them.
Alice even instigates a kissing game at the Queen Vic in a bid to get Tamwar (Himesh Patel) to loosen up, but it's still not enough.

Tamwar reluctantly admits the secret reason why he's been holding back, but will Alice understand? And will the couple make any progress when Tamwar is led upstairs to the bedroom by Alice?
