Monday

In this week's first visit to Albert Square, Jean is still downbeat about losing Ollie but when he walks back into her life and begs her to join him in Brighton she is overjoyed. But is leaving her life in Walford really that simple?
Lauren and Abi’s relationship is pushed to breaking point when the sisters are unable to agree on what they should do about Max.

Ronnie panics when she finds herself unexpectedly left alone with Lexi but not as much as Lola, when she learns who her daughter is with.

Tuesday

In Tuesday's episode, Kat realises she is standing in the way of Jean’s happiness and decides to make things right but has she left it too late?
Kirsty is shocked when Abi and Lauren turn against her so she lets them in on some home truths.

After receiving some disappointing news, Roxy turns to Alfie but as he is preoccupied with helping Kat she turns to the one who is always there for her.

Thursday

Dexter is worried about that state of Ava and Sam’s relationship, so he is in for a shock when he realises the reality of the situation is much worse than he originally thought.
Carl convinces Kirsty to meet him and she initially has a good time but it’s not long before she is reminded of his scheming ways.

Lauren bumps into Jake at counselling and, not having seen him for a while, asks if everything is ok, prompting Jake to ask her to meet up with him.

Friday

In this week's final visit to Walford, as Phil continues to wallow in hospital, he is shocked when Peggy walks through the door to give him a few home truths, determined to put him back on the right track.
Lauren tries to provide for her and Abi but when things don’t go the way she had planned she turns to Jake and their friendship steps up a gear.

Dexter hatches a plan but knowing his mother won’t approve, he decides to keep his actions a secret from her.

EastEnders Lauren Branning and Jake Stone finally give in to their feelings and share a kiss.

Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and Jake (Jamie Lomas) have been bonding over their drinking problem for several weeks now, since meeting at a counselling session.

Lauren will soon apply for a cleaning job at McKlunky's in order to help pay the bills at home, but is upset when she is turned down.

Joey tries to reassure her not to give up, but he is left disappointed when Lauren doesn't stay and chat for longer.

Unbeknown to Joey, Lauren then calls Jake knowing he will really understand what she is going through.

As Lauren arrives at his bedsit, they begin to talk, but their feelings soon take over and it isn't long before they are kissing.

Monday

Jean is delighted when Ollie arrives with flowers, but her good mood doesn't last for long as he tells her that he's leaving Walford. A devastated Jean locks herself in the toilet but as Ollie talks to her through the door, he admits that he loves her. Jean soon comes out and encourages Ollie to ask her to go with him. However, just as Jean is about to say yes, they are interrupted by Kat and Roxy.

Kat and Roxy then argue about what Jean should do. Kat is against the idea of her moving away, and she warns Ollie that Jean is fragile. Caught in the middle, Jean realises that Kat still needs her and she is forced to choose between her and Ollie. In the end, Ollie leaves and Jean is heartbroken that things haven't worked out.

Meanwhile, Lexi becomes unwell while at the child minders', but when they are unable to reach Lola or Billy, they call Phil's house instead. Ronnie takes the call and she is overwhelmed and fearful when she finds herself looking after Lexi. When Lola and Billy realise what has happened, they rush home as they're scared of what Ronnie might do. However, when they arrive, Lola realises that Ronnie means Lexi no harm and genuinely cares for her. She reassures Ronnie that everything is fine - they are family after all.

Elsewhere, Michael is shocked and disapproving when he learns that Jack and Ronnie spent the night together. However, Jack warns him to back off. Michael then heads to see Janine and they're both in agreement for once - Ronnie should be kept away from Scarlett.

Also today, Lola refuses to let Billy take Lexi to see Phil, Abi thinks the Brannings should leave Max to sort out his own mess but Lauren can't bring herself to, Sam is feeling worse for wear and doesn't turn up for a job he's promised to do for Kat, while Lucy is uncomfortable when Janine gives her the task of letting people know their rents have increased.

Tuesday

Jean is upset following Ollie's departure, and Kat feels terrible for standing in the way of her happiness. Desperate to put things right, Kat asks for Alfie's help and they rush off in pursuit of Ollie. Although they talk about Jean, it's clear that there is still a spark and a lot of love between the former couple. When they arrive, Kat and Alfie are disappointed to see the removal van has already gone. With Alfie not having enough petrol to follow, they are forced to turn back.

At the same time, Jean arrives at the allotment and is delighted to find Ollie there. He admits that he couldn't move away without Jean as he loves her. Jean can't believe it and later gets Kat's blessing to move away with Ollie after all. Before she leaves, Jean gives Kat some reassurance that maybe she shouldn't give up on her man in the moon just yet… As Jean drives off for a new life, Alfie is there to comfort Kat.

Meanwhile, Michael stirs things up at The Vic by telling Roxy and Alfie that Ronnie and Jack are back together. Michael also warns Carl not to be fooled by Ronnie as she is extremely manipulative. With this new knowledge, Carl offers Ronnie protection at the club but despite his intimidation, Ronnie stands her ground. Later, Roxy is disappointed when she thinks she might be pregnant but a test turns out to be negative. When Alfie returns, Roxy tries to confide in him but he is still preoccupied with Kat. As a result, Roxy heads off to find the one person who is always there for her - Ronnie.

Elsewhere, Abi tells Kirsty that she and Lauren have packed her stuff and want her to move out. As Abi rants at Kirsty that most of this mess is her fault, Kirsty snaps and bluntly points out how much she has done for them recently. Lauren is caught between the two as they both remain firm, but as Lauren suggests that Kirsty should stay, Abi storms off.

Also today, Ian offers Lucy the chance to work for him again but she throws it back in his face, while Sam tells Ava that he has some news.

Thursday

Ava tries to persuade Sam to tell Dexter the truth about what is happening, but he wants to choose the right moment. However, Dexter quickly picks up on the atmosphere between the two and he presumes that they are going to split up. Later, as Dexter leaves football training, he sees his dad working. As they walk home together, Sam picks up on Dexter's worries and he insists that his relationship with Ava is fine. They start a game of football together, but Dexter is shocked when Sam suddenly collapses.

Once at home, Ava insists they should call an ambulance, but Sam is against the idea. Dexter wonders if this is to do with Sam's diabetes, but Sam admits the truth - his kidneys are damaged and he needs a transplant urgently…

Meanwhile, Roxy is annoyed that Kirsty hasn't shown up for work, as she had made secret plans to meet Ronnie. When Kat arrives to fill Alfie in on the latest news from Jean, it's clear that Roxy is jealous of the closeness that the former couple still share. Kat offers to help out behind the bar when she finds out that Roxy wants to go out, but Alfie picks up on Roxy's resentment and declines. Later, Roxy sneaks into R&R and catches up with Ronnie, although she feels guilty about doing so behind Alfie's back. She also tells Ronnie about the concerns she has regarding Alfie and Kat.

Elsewhere, when Ronnie finds that the door frame at the club has been smashed, she immediately suspects Carl is behind the damage. Later, Kirsty agrees to have dinner with Carl when he says that he wants to talk. However, as they near the end of their meal, Kirsty witnesses Carl taunting Ronnie and walks away disgusted.

Also today, Jake tells Lauren that he has split from his wife due to his drinking, Abi cries during a heart-to-heart with Joey about fathers, Danny pulls the football team in for their first training session but he is unhappy at the lack of discipline and fitness, while Tamwar arrives at The Vic for a date with Alice but he soon feels paranoid when a tipsy Kat teases him.

Friday

Worried that there will be trouble with Carl around, Billy makes a phone call to help protect the Mitchell empire. Over at the hospital, the nurse tries to persuade Phil to start moving about, but he isn't able to muster the energy or the desire. Soon afterwards, Billy pays a visit to Phil and once he's leaving, he's shocked to see Peggy step out of a black cab. When Peggy enters the hospital room, she's upset to see the bad state that her son is in. However, she also wastes no time in telling Phil that he needs to pull himself together, get back home and not let anyone else muscle in on his territory.

Phil is initially reluctant to listen to his mum, but Peggy points out that his family need him. Peggy prepares to leave once it seems that her job is done, but Phil decides to tell his mum that he does still need her. Touched, Peggy hands Phil a bag with a gift for Lexi. Once Peggy has gone, Phil looks inside the bag and sees that it also contains the number of the nurse who has been looking after him. Has Peggy got through to Phil?

Meanwhile, Lauren applies for a cleaning job, but she is disappointed when she is turned down. Joey sees her and offers some comfort and reassurance, but as she goes to leave, it seems Joey is disappointed that she isn't staying longer. Later, Lauren calls Jake, wanting to talk to someone who really understands what she is going through. When Lauren arrives at his bedsit, things hot up and they begin kissing passionately.

Elsewhere, Ava arrives back from hospital with a fragile Sam, who points out that it's unlikely that a donor will be found quickly. Ava soon lets slip that she is being tested to see if she is a match, leaving Dexter worried. As Dexter struggles with the news, Sam tries to reassure him that Ava probably won't even be a match as she is not a blood relative. After spending time with Abi and hearing about her family troubles, Dexter reveals to Sam that he wants to be tested but he doesn't want his mother to know.

Also today, Carl's presence starts to get to Ronnie when she finds him sitting in the R&R office, while a nervous Alice gets drunk before a night in with Tamwar and ends up falling asleep on his sofa.

With Peggy Mitchell making her one-off return to EastEnders this evening (September 20), brand new pictures have been released previewing what's in store.

Show bosses are urging viewers not to switch off until the closing credits have finished as there will be a special scene at the end of tonight's episode.

Peggy's comeback sees her visit son Phil in hospital after learning that he needs some help and encouragement following the recent car crash.

However, after dealing with Phil, a purposeful Peggy heads to Albert Square itself.

Many things have happened since Peggy left Walford and the special closing scene gives a rightful nod to her past. However, viewers will have to tune in to find out exactly why Peggy pays a visit to the Square…
