Holby City's Jac Naylor struggles to cope next week as she learns that her unborn baby has a worrying health problem.

Jac (Rosie Marcel) hears the news after having her 20-week scan, which she attends alone as she is barely on speaking terms with Jonny Maconie (Michael Thomson).

When Mr Thompson (Ben Hull) spots something unexpected on the scan, he breaks the news to Jac that her baby has a diaphragmatic hernia, which means it only has a 50% chance of surviving beyond birth.

Although Jac tries to put on a brave face, she later ends up uncharacteristically walking out of surgery as the stress takes its toll.

Jac eventually tells a shocked Jonny what is going on and they both attend a meeting to discuss the baby's future.

The pair seem to be brought together for a moment when they hear that the unborn child is a girl, but after the meeting, Jac refuses to sit down and discuss the situation with Jonny any further. Can Jonny convince her to stop pushing him away?

Holby City airs these scenes on Tuesday, September 10 at 8pm on BBC One.
