Naomi will feature in one episode of the BBC show in September, making her way to Walford with David when he returns to the area.
An EastEnders statement teased: "Viewers won't be surprised to see the lothario with a woman in tow, however things aren't quite what they seem when the past quickly catches up with them."
Further details of the storyline have yet to be revealed, but Naomi will be featuring in scenes with David, Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) and Masood Ahmed (Nitin Ganatra).
Speaking of her role, Maxwell commented: "I've had a fantastic time filming at EastEnders and working with the wonderful Michael, Lindsey and Nitin has been an absolute joy.
"I can honestly say it's one of the happiest jobs I've done. Michael French is an amazing actor and to be part of such an iconic character's return to the Square felt very special."
Maxwell is best known for her role as DI Sam Nixon in The Bill. She has also been a regular panellist on ITV's Loose Women since 2009.
EastEnders newcomer Lisa Maxwell has said that her character Naomi is manipulative and spoilt.
David Wicks (Michael French) will return to Walford with girlfriend Naomi in tow next week, having stolen a suitcase full of money from her husband Don.
Maxwell said to the Radio Times: "David and Naomi are having an affair and they've decided to nick Don's money and do a runner.
"But on the way he decides he wants to stop off and see Bianca and bung her a few quid, which is how they find themselves in Albert Square.
"She's also quite a manipulative character. She's tough, she likes the nice things in life and I imagine that she couldn't be happy without money!
"She's been thoroughly spoilt by Don. She does love David, but only on the condition that he's got a few quid. As long as David can provide for her then I think she'd stay with him."
Maxwell also revealed that she was riddled with nerves during her first day on set.
She said: "I thought I was going to be absolutely fine as I knew it was just the one episode and the character was fun, so I wasn't worried. But on the morning of filming, I got really quite nervous. I was having to do some deep breathing.
"As soon as I arrived I saw Michael French, who was just so lovely and generous and kind, so I was immediately put at ease. From then on, I was working with Lindsey Coulson (Carol), Nitin Ganatra (Masood) and Michael and we all just fell in love with each other.
"It was like a big 'love-in' because it was essentially just a four-hander. It was lovely - one of the best jobs I have ever done. I loved it!"
EastEnders airs Naomi and David's arrival on Friday, September 27 at 8pm on BBC One.
EastEnders guest star Lisa Maxwell has admitted that she would be interested in a longer stint with the soap.
The actress appears in Walford for a single episode tomorrow night (September 27) as she takes on the role of Naomi, who is the latest love interest of returnee David Wicks (Michael French).
Naomi and David will cause chaos for Carol Jackson and Masood Ahmed, interrupting a romantic night in that the couple are enjoying at the Butcher house.
Speaking on ITV's Daybreak this morning, Maxwell commented: "It couldn't have been better. It was pretty much a four-hander, the episode. We had rehearsals, which apparently is unheard of at EastEnders, so it was a really lovely experience."
Asked whether there is scope for Naomi to return, she replied: "Well, she doesn't die at the end. There's always that. Yeah, I think she could. She could come back. She's in love with David Wicks and they've been having an affair for quite some time, from what I gather, so there's unfinished business there.
"I did love it. I did enjoy it. If the experience working on EastEnders is anything like the one I had doing that episode, then in a heartbeat I'd go back."

The former Bill cast member also confessed that she is nervous about her episode being broadcast tomorrow evening.
She said: "I might even actually watch the repeat as opposed to the first one! There's something really nerve-wracking about watching it with the nation. It's a big show, isn't it? The reaction to just being in that one episode has been quite overwhelming."
