EastEnders Jean Slater agrees to go on a second date with Ollie Walters next week, but she is worried he will be scared off when he finds out about her bipolar.

Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie (Shane Richie) try and reassure Jean (Gillian Wright) that it will all be fine and Ollie (Tony O'Callaghan) takes her to Scarlett's for their date - the last place she wants to be after recent events.

During the meal, Ian persuades Jean to work for him again - which she agrees to - and she then tries to pluck up the courage to tell Ollie about her bipolar, however she bottles it.

Later, Jean again tries to broach the subject with Ollie again but she instead comes clean about her involvement in the restaurant fire.

Jean is worried she has blown it, but Ollie reassures Jean she is a good, warm-hearted person.

On their way back to The Queen Vic, they share a kiss and Jean sneaks Ollie upstairs.

EastEnders Kat Moon will desperately try to help troubled Whitney Dean next week, after she runs away from home.

Still upset following her visit to see Tony in prison and her subsequent one-night stand with Joey Branning, Whitney (Shona McGarty) packs her bags and leaves Walford after a row with Bianca.

Seeing the commotion from across the square, Kat (Jessie Wallace) promises a devastated Bianca (Patsy Palmer) that she can sort Whitney out and so follows her out of Walford.

She catches up with Whitney just in time and manages to stop her jumping into a car with a group of lads. Kat takes Whitney into the pub toilets, and tells her that offering herself to any bloke isn't the answer to her problems.

Kat explains that the pair of them aren't so different, as she too was abused as a child by her uncle.

Kat then emotionally tells Whitney that it has affected her whole life and she doesn't want Whitney to go through everything she has.

The two women have a heart-to-heart, and Whitney opens up about Tony and how she feels unable to talk to Bianca.

Kat suggests that it is time for both of them to confront their demons, but can she convince Whitney to return to Walford with her?

Lucy Beale will accept a job working for businesswoman Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) on EastEnders next week.

This will come as a huge blow to her dad Ian (Adam Woodyatt), who was desperately hoping to get their relationship back on track since conning her into signing over the businesses.

Lucy (Hetti Bywater) is delighted when she is fast-tracked into a job at Janine's property firm believing that she will be Janine's apprentice.

However, Lucy is thrown when Janine ignores her business ideas and makes her do the office admin.

She is particularly humiliated when she is sent to get coffee from a smug Ian and upon returning, Lucy has a go at Janine for only giving her menial tasks to do.

Janine is impressed by Lucy's reckless but gutsy attitude, and later tasks her to oversee Joey's stock take at the R&R.

Monday

Whitney is struggling after hearing about Tony's death, but she tries to keep up the façade that everything is okay. After a day working at the community centre, Whitney heads out to Scarlett's with Tyler and plucks up the courage to start talking about Tony. Tyler is clearly uncomfortable with the conversation and accidentally offends Whitney by describing her as "messed up". Upset, Whitney takes off her engagement ring, storms out of the restaurant and tells Tyler that it's over.

Not long afterwards, a troubled Whitney starts flirting with Joey at R&R. With Joey flirting in return, Whitney tells him that her relationship with Tyler is over. She tries to kiss Joey and he's tempted, but he advises her to leave before she does something she regrets. However, when Whitney tells Joey that she knows exactly what she's doing, they kiss passionately and head back to Joey's place…

Meanwhile, Alfie notices that Kat is upset when she finds out about him and Roxy having an engagement party. Wanting to make sure he's okay, he asks Michael to keep an eye on Kat. Later, Michael's tension with Danny continues as they battle over who'll get to spend the evening with Janine. Michael eventually wins by making Janine feel guilty about not meeting the other mums at the playgroup, but he's soon left unsettled when Danny flirts with him again. In the end, Michael is late meeting Janine as he's too busy taking care of Kat, and he's put out when he finds Janine organising a play date with one of the mums without his help.

Elsewhere, when Ian makes snide comments towards Lucy, Peter warns him that he'll soon lose her for good if he doesn't stop acting like a prat.

Also today, Fatboy is torn over whether to spend time with Poppy or Tamwar, while Masood returns to Walford with Kamil - but can he pick up his relationship with Carol where he left off?

Tuesday

Whitney tells Bianca and Carol about her latest dramas, confessing that she's ended her relationship with Tyler and that she also slept with Joey last night. Bianca urges Whitney not to tell Tyler, and she also interferes by urging Joey to keep quiet too. When Bianca tells Joey that Whitney and Tyler are actually still together, he promises not to say anything.

Later, Tyler apologises to Whitney with some flowers and they agree to meet each other for a drink that evening. Now more interested in saving her relationship, Whitney begs Lucy to keep quiet too, knowing that she saw her leaving Joey's. That evening at The Vic, Whitney gets upset with Tyler again when he keeps saying the wrong thing. Whitney runs out of the pub and when Tyler follows her, she confesses to sleeping with Joey. Tyler is devastated by the revelation.

Jean and Ollie share a kiss.

Meanwhile, Jean worries that Ollie will be scared off when he finds out about her bipolar. Later, the new couple have a meal together at Scarlett's, where Ian manages to convince Jean to work for him again. Afterwards, Jean tries to pluck up the courage to tell Ollie about her condition, but she can't bring herself to say it. Instead, Jean tells Ollie about her involvement in the fire and she's relieved when he takes it well. Back at The Vic, they share a kiss and Jean sneaks Ollie upstairs.

Elsewhere, Ian has taken Peter's words on board and now wants to make amends with Lucy. He's then elated when Lucy calls him to arrange to meet up. At The Vic, Ian begs his daughter for forgiveness but Janine soon interrupts their chat, telling him that Lucy is working for her now. This comes as a blow to Ian, which delights Lucy.

Also today, Kat and Bianca decide to call time on their stall after tension between them boils over, Alice urges Tamwar to give Fatboy and Poppy some space, while Kat sees Carl in The Vic and tells him that she will be his plus one for Alfie and Roxy's engagement party.

Thursday

Whitney admits that she still wants to be with Tyler, so Bianca suggests that she should fight for him. Alfie also gives advice to Tyler, suggesting that he might be able to forgive Whitney if it was just a one-off. When the troubled couple meet up, Whitney isn't able to properly explain the reasoning behind her actions, especially as she was sober when she slept with Joey. As a result, Tyler can't bring himself to forgive her. Not long afterwards, Tyler flies at Joey when he sees him at The Vic, but Whitney warns him that he can't fight his way out of their problems.

Realising that Whitney is right, Tyler tries to have a proper heart-to-heart with her. Whitney starts to open up about Tony, but with Tyler still uncomfortable with discussing the situation, Whitney suggests that they should end their relationship for good if he can't accept her past. An emotional Tyler agrees and they both walk away from their romance. Seeing how devastated Tyler is, Bianca has a big argument with Whitney for messing things up so badly. Later, Bianca walks in on Whitney packing a bag and realises that she has decided to leave Walford…

Kat paints on a brave face.
Kat paints on a brave face.
Meanwhile, a tipsy Kat flirts with Carl at Roxy and Alfie's engagement party, but it's clear that she is only trying to make Alfie jealous. When Kat becomes rowdy, Roxy is forced to step in and ask her to calm down, leading to another confrontation between the two women. Alfie tries to warn Kat that Carl is bad news, but when she accuses him of being jealous, he snaps back that she's just throwing herself at the nearest man to make her feel better - it's what she always does. As a speechless Kat walks away, Alfie knows he's gone too far - but he's too distracted with the party to follow her and apologise.

Elsewhere, Lucy has high hopes for her new job with Janine, hoping that she'll be able to share business ideas as an apprentice. However, Janine will only give Lucy menial jobs to do, which include fetching coffee for a smug Ian! When Lucy has a go at Janine for underestimating her, an impressed Janine relents and sends her to oversee Joey's stock take at R&R.

Also today, Bianca warns Tiffany that she isn't to see Bobby again after the youngsters have spent a secret day at the allotments together, while Jean and Ollie's relationship continues to go from strength to strength.

Friday

As a new row begins, Whitney blames Bianca for bringing Tony into her life, but she also claims that he was the only person who really understood her. Whitney then walks out of the house, with Bianca screaming at her to come back. At the same time, Kat drags Carl down an alley outside The Vic. However, she's left humiliated when Carl declares that it's all a bit too tacky for him and advises Kat to just go home.

Kat chases after Whitney when she leaves the Square.
Kat chases after Whitney.
When Kat sees the commotion across the Square, she advises Bianca to stay and look after Tiffany while she goes after Whitney. After a frantic search, Kat catches up with Whitney and finds her about to jump into a car full of lads. Kat manages to stop her from going, but one of them propositions Whitney to a drink in a nearby pub and she agrees.

Later in the pub toilets, Kat tries to convince Whitney that throwing herself at any old bloke isn't the answer to her problems. Kat adds that she can understand what Whitney is going through as she was also abused as a child by her uncle Harry, and it's affected her throughout her entire life.

As their heart-to-heart continues, Whitney admits that she can't tell Bianca how she really feels about Tony, because she knows it will hurt her. Kat explains that she wishes she'd told her mum about Harry's abuse, but it's not too late for Whitney to finally open up to Bianca. Feeling an affinity with Whitney, Kat suggests they could both confront their demons together so they can put it all behind them. Will Whitney leave with the stranger or go back with Kat?

Meanwhile, back on the Square, Tiffany questions Bianca on Tony and why Whitney is upset. Finding it difficult, Bianca tearfully tells her that you just need to be careful who you trust.

like kat, whitney is another character who started out very well written and interesting but turns boring and into a slapper

I disagree ... she was groomed by Tony and I can appreciate that she will always have some feelings for him ... despite knowing what they are all about, a lot of abused victims will always care for their abusers
