Coming up on Coronation Street, David Platt manages to cause more trouble for his half-brother Nick's marriage to Leanne.

With Leanne (Jane Danson) certain that a student night would be a great idea for the Bistro, David urges her to stick to her guns even though Nick is sceptical.

Taking this on board, Leanne goes ahead with the plan and even invites a local reporter along for some good PR.

The night initially appears to be a success, but only until David (Jack P Shepherd) heads outside and secretly phones the police.

Soon afterwards, officers descend on the Bistro after receiving an anonymous tip-off regarding a drug problem at the business. No evidence of drug use is found, but the damage has been done as the reporter has her story for the paper.

With David subtly winding him up, Nick (Ben Price) tells a hurt Leanne that she can't take risks with his business ever again. As a delighted David watches, will the rowing couple rise to the bait?

Does anyone actually care what's happening between Katy, Chesney and Ryan?

Chesneys turned into a moody git, Katy has developed a severe attitude and Ryan is as uninteresting as he was when he first arrived.

Monday
David urges Leanne to stick to her guns and insists that a student night at the Bistro is a great idea, so she presses ahead with her plans. Nick remains sceptical, especially when Leanne invites a local reporter along. However, as the bar starts filling up, he buries his concern.

The night appears to be a success, but moving outside, David delivers his coup de grace and phones the police. What is he up to?

Meanwhile, when Sinead asks Chesney if he and Katy have unfinished business, he denies it. But when Kirk and Beth admit to seeing Ryan with another woman, it's clear he's worried for Katy. Will Chesney be the one to tell Katy about Ryan's other woman?

Elsewhere, Faye has spent her first night back at Number 6 and is happy to be home. Tim is putting on a brave face, but when he tells Jason about Owen's threat and how he must leave town, Jason advises him not to give up on Faye so easily. Will Tim agree to move on?

Also, Eileen prepares for her first day at counselling, determined to save her relationship with Paul.

Finally, Carla and Michelle head out to celebrate as business at Underworld is booming

Nick is horrified as the police search the Bistro for drugs. No evidence of drug use is found, but the damage has been done as the reporter has her story.

With David subtly winding him up, Nick tells a hurt Leanne that she can't take risks with his business again. As David watches, will the rowing couple rise to the bait?

Nick blames Leanne for the problem.

Meanwhile, Katy is shocked to hear that Ryan was spotted with another woman and heads home to confront him. After reading his texts, she demands to know who the other woman is. On the defensive, will Ryan be able to explain himself?

Elsewhere, as Tim calls round to Anna's with a box of Faye's things, a sense of sadness hangs in the air. In the pub, Tim confides in Sally - he's leaving town and it's for the best. But does Tim really believe this?

Also, Eileen is upbeat following her counselling session, but Paul forgets to ask about it, having had a bad day dealing with hoax calls from a group of kids.

Finally, Peter bites his tongue as Carla flashes the cash, clearly struggling with Carla being the breadwinner.

Wednesday

Ryan tells Katy that he has arranged to meet the club promoter he was texting. They'll see each other at a bar later. A suspicious Katy later heads to the bar, where she finds Ryan flirting with a woman. Making a point, she introduces herself as Ryan's girlfriend, which doesn't go down well.

Back on the street, Katy lays into Ryan, accusing him of being a love rat. Has Ryan got any answers?

Meanwhile, when Sinead tests Ches's feelings for her by asking to stay the night, will Ches be able to prove he's over Katy?

Elsewhere, Nick and Leanne make up, but the fault-lines remain. When the Gazette arrives, complete with a report on the raid at the Bistro, tempers soon fray again.

Also today, Paul is worried when one of the parents of the hoax callers lodges a formal complaint against him. He's facing charges of aggressive behaviour.

Finally, Tim takes a shine to Sally, while Carla is worried when she looks at the accounts for the bookies - which leaves Peter stewing

Friday

Paul has had a stressful day - he's under investigation for his run-in with the hoax caller and could lose his job. He heads to the pub for a game of darts with Steve, and it looks like his luck has changed when his final dart wins the game.

Unfortunately, the dart falls from the board and as the two men bicker about who's the winner, Paul tells Steve to 'play the white man'. Lloyd is horrified and accuses Paul of being a racist. Will Paul apologise for his comment?

Meanwhile, Peter insists to Carla that he's going to turn things round at the bookies by offering the most competitive odds in town. It's a desperate move and Carla knows it, but outwardly she backs him as the locals place their bets.

Elsewhere, Sinead is now convinced Chesney still has feelings for Katy. Realising how much he's hurting her, Ches apologises and admits that he's struggling to move on. An understanding Sinead says goodbye, insisting that he knows where to find her when he's ready. How will Katy react to news of their split?

Also, David is frustrated as Nick and Leanne reconcile.

Finally, Rob is not enjoying life as a debt collector until Tracy offers to help spice things up

As Paul and Lloyd lock horns, Jason dives in to prevent a fight. Paul is demanding that Lloyd apologises for calling him a racist, but as most people side with Lloyd, a mortified Eileen drags Paul home where she and Jason take him to task.

At the same time, Lloyd opens up to Steve about the racial abuse he's suffered over the years. It's something he feels strongly about, and when Eileen tries to defend Paul, a row brews between the two friends.

Meanwhile, when Steve places an accumulator at the bookies, Peter stands to lose a fortune if he wins. As it goes down to the wire, Peter is as pumped on the adrenaline as Steve is. However, when Rob points out that Peter is turning into a gambler himself, will Carla start to worry?

Elsewhere, Katy calls on Chesney and throws herself on his mercy. She apologises for hurting him and begs for another chance. Part of Chesney is still angry, but part of him wants this more than anything. Will the pair reconcile?

Also, as David helps Kylie look after the Bistro while Nick takes Leanne away, he seizes the chance to up his secret revenge plan. Heading behind the bar with a malevolent smile, what will David do next?

Finally, having witnessed how many people fall foul to debt collectors, Tracy has a business proposition for Rob

Coronation Street businesswoman Carla Connor will be left shellshocked when she hears that her partner Peter Barlow is risking bankruptcy at the betting shop.

With business bad at the bookies, Peter (Chris Gascoyne) tries a short-term fix by offering the most competitive odds in town, hoping to bring in new customers.

Peter's only problem is that one lucky accumulator bet could bankrupt him.

Carla is unaware of the liberties that Peter is taking with their business until a clued-up Michelle fills her in on the implications of what he's doing.

Alison King, who plays Carla, told TV Times: "Carla hasn't really got her eye on the ball. She has dealt with her brother and is finally on top of the factory, and the last thing she expects is for Peter to be in such financial trouble.

"When he tells her about the 'competitive' odds he is going to offer people, she doesn't really understand it. Carla is desperate to put Peter on a pedestal, but he is not scrambling onto it!"

Kym Lomas, who plays Michelle, added: "When Steve tells Michelle about Peter's scheme to offer silly odds, she is shocked and tries to tell Carla. She doesn't want Carla to be made a fool of and she is worried that the factory might get dragged down because there is a danger of Peter losing everything."

Coronation Street airs these scenes next week on ITV.
