The first trailer has been released for upcoming BBC Two drama Top of the Lake.
The six-part series has been written by The Piano director Jane Campion and Gerard Lee and focuses on a 12-year-old pregnant girl who is seen standing on a frozen lake before going missing.
The trailer - which sees the show's characters wade into a dark lake - asks "When you get to the edge of the universe, what's so scary?"
Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss stars in the series as Robin Griffin, the detective leading the investigation into the missing girl.
The cast also includes The Piano actress Holly Hunter, Battlestar Galactica's Lucy Lawless and Trainspotting's Peter Mullan - who plays the girl's father.
Campion has previously praised the series' location of New Zealand, describing it as a "paradise".
She said: "I am in love with the intense beauty of southernmost New Zealand and am excited to be setting a story in this end of the world paradise.
"To be able to tell the story over six hours gives myself and my brilliant team a chance to make something truly absorbing and memorable."
Top of the Lake is coming soon to BBC Two.
