Coming up on Coronation Street, Maria Connor's relationship with Marcus Dent could be about to run into more trouble.

A difficult week for Marcus (Charlie Condou) begins when an old friend invites both him and Sean Tully to his wedding reception.

While Sean is looking forward to catching up with some old faces, Marcus isn't so keen as he wonders how his gay friends will react to the news that he's now dating a woman.

Marcus initially tries to avoid the awkward situation by failing to mention the invitation to his girlfriend, but this plan doesn't work when Sean lets it slip to Maria (Samia Ghadie).

As a result, Marcus and Maria end up attending the wedding after all, but it's clear throughout the day that Marcus is feeling uncomfortable.

Maria is quick to pick up on his unease, but will Marcus admit to his friends that Maria is his partner?

Monday 3rd

Covering his anxiety, Karl tries to reason with Dev. However, Dev insists that he's going to the police and finds Sunita's phone, convinced there may be evidence on it to support his growing theory.

At the police station, Dev is a man on a mission as he insists that he has questions that need answering and evidence that needs to be considered. As Karl reels, will the police agree to re-open the case?

Meanwhile, Carla is aghast as Rob refuses to sign over his 30%. Michelle and Carla feel he's in no position to call the shots, but Rob cites that his share is worth £50k and what Carla is doing is worse than what he did to her. Rocked by his desperation, will Carla waiver?

Elsewhere, Tommy fetches Tina home, but it's clear that her thoughts are with the baby. Tina insists that she's fretting about Gary and Izzy, but Tommy is not fooled and when she asks him to take her back to the hospital to visit Jake, we see he's concerned by her growing feelings.

Also, Eileen is exhausted as Paul gets ready to start another night shift. With her anxiety kicking in at the prospect of him going to work, she sets about distracting herself.

Finally, Marcus doesn't mention the wedding invite to Maria, admitting to Sean that he's embarrassed about what his gay friends will say

Wednesday

When Jake starts bringing his milk back up, he is diagnosed with a bowel infection. A panicking Izzy calls Tina with the news.

The call hits Tina like a ton of bricks and she rushes to the hospital, where they hear that Jake has deteriorated further and needs surgery - there's a 50% chance of survival. Tina is horrified and Tommy worries as she is drawn back into the baby's life.

Meanwhile, despite Karl's warning, a determined Dev is undeterred as he doorsteps Paul, asking questions about the fire. Paul and Eileen are upset by the reminder of Toni's death. Witnessing this, Karl begs Dev to stop, claiming that his digging is upsetting Stella too. Will Dev agree to end his crusade before Karl's panic inflames Stella's suspicions?

Elsewhere, Rob is aware that his money won't last long and tells Tracy that he needs a job fast. Rob starts ringing round for work, but when Carla is called upon for a reference, will she stick the knife into Rob?

Also today, when Sean lets slip to Maria about Ben's wedding reception, she asks Marcus about why he didn't mention the invite. Will Marcus come clean?

Finally, Eileen throws herself into cleaning in a bid to banish her insomnia

Friday

Izzy and Gary wait anxiously as Tina signs the consent forms for Jake's surgery. The operation goes well, but only two people can visit him at once.

Tina's heart breaks as she hangs back and allows Gary and Izzy to go in. However, alone with Tommy, Tina finally confesses how much she loves Jake and isn't sure she can give him up. Tommy is appalled.

Meanwhile, as Marcus and Maria attend Ben and Andy's wedding, it's clear that Marcus is uncomfortable. Maria picks up on his unease, but will Marcus admit to his gay friends that Maria is his partner?

Elsewhere, when Dev likens Sunita's situation to Tyrone's, with the police having wrongly accused him of something he didn't do, Tyrone is concerned. In a bid to look like the good guy, Karl tells his mates the reason he wishes Dev would stop reliving the fire and Sunita's death is that he's worried about Dev's mental state.

Also, Deirdre is concerned to find Eileen frantically cleaning after working all night and having had no sleep at all. When Paul arrives home, will he pick up on Eileen's mounting anxiety?

Finally, Sylvia insists that Roy is mentally stressed and needs to do something about it, while Sally waits nervously for her date in The Rovers.

There's good news about Jake - he's doing well and should be able to go home in 10 days. Gary and Izzy are thrilled, but when Owen gives Tina her final instalment of money for the baby, she tells Tommy that she hates herself - feeling like she's sold her child.

Harnessing his strength, Tommy tells Tina that if she decides to keep the baby he'll stand by her and they'll bring him up together. In turmoil, is this what Tina wants? And can she break Izzy's heart?

Meanwhile, hurt by the fact that Marcus clearly didn't want to admit she's his partner, Maria wonders if he's ashamed of her. Marcus assures her that's not the case, but when he explains to his friends that he's still a gay man who happened to fall in love with a woman, Maria is appalled.

Elsewhere, Dev calls at Number 4 and quizzes Sally and Sophie about Sunita's last movements. They're unnerved by his intensity and Sally eventually asks him to leave.

Also, realising she's been stood up, Sally sends her internet date a curt text and heads home in a bad mood.

Finally, Eileen knocks back the wine with Deirdre before falling asleep on the sofa

Dev Alahan has an epiphany over the Rovers Return fire in tonight's Coronation Street double bill (June 3).

The businessman has recently tried to move on from the tragedy as best he can. However, all of the old emotions come flooding back when he is called into school for a chat about how Asha and Aadi are coping.

As the twins have been fighting with fellow pupils who think Sunita was a murderer, headteacher Brian Packham wants Dev to be more honest with them about what really happened.

Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) reluctantly agrees, but when he sees that the kids are absolutely convinced of Sunita's innocence, he starts to realise himself that she wasn't capable of starting the blaze.

When Dev vows to speak to the police about this, could it be the beginning of the end for killer Karl?
