The Rovers Return re-opens for business
Of the Rovers Return's new look, Coronation Street art director Rosie Mullins-Hoyle said: "The redesign of the Rovers was a massive challenge firstly because it was the first time in 25 years that the set had come out of stage 1!
"For myself it is an iconic set and perhaps the most famous in the country so there is a lot of pressure to get it right and do it justice."

I wonder if I could get the same builders in to build my sun room. They seem remarkably quick. After such a fire the would have needed new plumbing and a complete rewire as well as planning permission. They mist have used Weetabix the Builder
the rovers looks same as before to me

I'm glad you said that because I was struggling to see the difference.
Also is that Gary I see in the pic? If Owen had threatened to sue me, just because he saw me having a drink my mother had paid for to celebrate my engagement, I wouldn't let him or his family in my pub after lol
Although Stella deserves Karl, she's that stupid for taking him back she deserves everything she gets that one. Muppet.

A muppet is a better actor
Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has admitted that she doesn't want her character Tina McIntyre to leave as a villain.
The actress will bow out from her popular soap role next year as she wants to pursue new projects.
Speaking at a Coronation Street press day yesterday (May 16), Keegan said that Tina's exit storyline should stay true to her character.
Keegan explained: "Because Tina came in with a bang, I'd love her to go out with a bang. But I've always said that Tina is a good person, and I'd like her to stay that way."
On her future ambitions, the 25-year-old continued: "I've got no plan now. Leaving was a hard decision. I just thought, 'I've been there six years and if I don't go now, I'll always look back and think, what if? I've always said that I'd love to do a period drama, I think because I love watching them."
Tina has more dramatic scenes on the way later this month as she gives birth to the baby she is carrying for Gary Windass and Izzy Armstrong two months early.
Keegan commented: "It was really daunting to film. When I knew I was going to have the pregnancy, I thought, 'Oh my God, I'm going to have to do a birthing scene'. I've always been really worried about that.
"So when I found out about the storyline, I did loads of research. I asked women who'd been through birth about what it was like and heard loads of stories. One person said she was screaming, the other said it wasn't all that painful!
"I also started watching One Born Every Minute and picked up some tips from that, but when it comes to it, you have to go with your instinct. Obviously because it's a soap, it has to be dramatised a little bit. I went with how I thought Tina would react to it."
Revealing that the story has affected her away from the cameras, she added: "I'm always quite broody, but it probably made me broodier. Just because I was talking about being pregnant all the time and going to antenatal classes. I've now picked up some tips along the way!"
Coronation Street airs Tina's birth scenes in a special 9pm week which kicks off on Sunday, May 26
Coronation Street star Chris Fountain has revealed that his character Tommy Duckworth will become extremely close to ex-girlfriend Tina McIntyre again.
Tommy is the main source of support for Tina when she gives birth to Gary Windass and Izzy Armstrong's baby two months early in an upcoming episode.
Speaking at a Coronation Street press day yesterday (May 16), Fountain explained: "It's a strange situation, because Tina and Tommy broke up over this baby, but now he changes his opinion of her. Tommy tells Tina that he's really proud of her and he wishes he'd have seen sooner what a brilliant thing she was doing for Gary and Izzy with the surrogacy.
"Tina is the love of Tommy's life, so he'll always be there for her no matter what. Now that they've been through the pregnancy together and they're still friends, it brings them closer."
He continued: "Because the baby's so ill, we spend a lot of time in the hospital together. We've been filming at the hospital for about three months now. Gary and Izzy have families to support them, but Tina and Tommy only really have each other.
"Even if Tina did decide she wanted to keep the baby, Tommy would stick with her because he loves her to bits."
Fountain also backed co-star Michelle Keegan, who plays Tina, over her decision to leave Coronation Street next year.
He said: "I made the same decision that Michelle made when I left Hollyoaks. Being in a soap is such an amazing job. It's like hitting the jackpot, really. So many actors are out of work so it's a difficult thing to leave. I've got massive respect for Michelle as it's a very hard decision."
Coronation Street airs Tina's birth scenes in a special 9pm week which kicks off on Sunday, May 26
Coronation Street stars Cherylee Houston and Mikey North have revealed that they can see a light at the end of the tunnel for their characters Izzy Armstrong and Gary Windass.
The Weatherfield couple's future comes under severe threat later this month as Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) tells Izzy about Gary making a pass at her.
With Izzy reeling over the bombshell, her arguments with Gary become so severe that Tina questions whether she should still give away the baby she has been carrying for the pair.
However, speaking at a Coronation Street press event yesterday (May 16), North commented: "I hope you would fight for your kid no matter what happened. I certainly would. But the thing is that if Gary and Izzy are no longer together but are fighting for their child, then it's a weaker argument.
"I suppose anything's possible with these two characters. I would hope they'd go to any lengths for their kid. It's a very unnatural situation to be in with someone else having given birth to your child."
Houston added: "As far as Izzy and Gary are concerned, they need to sort out their problems. In their minds it's questions like, 'Who's going to have the baby between them?' and 'Who's he going to live with?' If Gary's been a bad boy, then she isn't going to want the baby living with him."
The pair are even holding out hope that Gary and Izzy can resolve their problems in the long-run.
Houston laughed: "I do like working with Mikey as a person and as an actor, but I hate admitting that to him! He pushes me a lot and I learn from him. As characters, they're an interesting mix. You never would have thrown those two together."
North said: "They've been through a lot together and they always seem to get through whatever's thrown their way."
Coronation Street airs Izzy's discovery and Tina's birth scenes in a special 9pm week which kicks off on Sunday, May 26. The episodes have been directed by Tony Prescott, who worked on the recent Rovers fire and Corrie's live episodes in 2000 and 2010

Is the baby suppose to be Tommy and Tina's not Izzy and Gary's baby?
Corrie barmaid Tina McIntyre has ex-boyfriend Tommy Duckworth by her side as she gives birth later this month.
The soap's ongoing surrogacy storyline, which has seen Tina carry a baby for Gary Windass and Izzy Armstrong, comes to a head in a special week of 9pm episodes.
In dramatic scenes, Tina (Michelle Keegan) goes into labour two months prematurely at the Rovers Return on the day of the pub's reopening.
To make matters even more complicated, the surprising turn of events comes just as Tina has told Izzy about Gary making a pass at her.
With Izzy and Gary's relationship left in tatters, Tina is rushed off in an ambulance and insists that Tommy (Chris Fountain) should be the one to accompany her.
At the hospital, Tommy continues to support Tina as the baby is delivered. Are the former couple close to getting back together? And can Gary and Izzy put their differences aside for the sake of their newborn son?

Are Tina and Tommy close to a reunion?
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, May 27 at 9pm on ITV.
Sunday
As the Windasses gather at the Rovers re-opening, a stressed-out Tina is on edge. It all comes to a head when Owen has a go and Chesney, Katy and Ryan have a row.
When Izzy makes it clear that she disapproves of Ryan, Katy can't hide her annoyance and makes a pointed remark about Gary. Confused, Izzy goes to tackle Gary and Tina about what Katy meant. Tina then caves and tells Izzy that Gary made a pass at her. As Izzy reels, Tina collapses in pain - could it be the baby?
Meanwhile, Karl is at Stella's side as the Rovers re-opens, desperate for the night to go well. However, as Stella makes a poignant speech, she can't help but feel for an emotional Dev. Are any of them really ready to move on from that fateful night?
Elsewhere, Tracy is nervous as she worries that Carla suspects her and Rob of being involved in the theft. Trying to calm her nerves, Rob insists the sooner they get rid of the silk the better.
Also today, Sophie and Jenna let their hair down as the pub re-opens.
Monday
Panic ensues as Tina goes into labour two months prematurely and is rushed to hospital. As Gary holds Katy responsible, a furious Izzy bites back that it's Gary who is to blame for hitting on Tina and causing her stress.
As the Windasses and Armstrongs reel, it's Tommy who Tina wants by her side as she gives birth to a tiny baby boy. At the last minute, she calls Izzy in and both women are united in their fear as the baby is rushed to the special care baby unit for help with his breathing. As a desperate Gary is forced to wait for news, will the baby pull through?
Meanwhile, as an emotional Dev heads home, Stella wants to go after him. Insisting that he'll check on Dev, Karl is forced to call at the Alahans'. An angry Dev then asks if he has a guilty conscience. Karl panics - is Dev onto him?
Elsewhere, with Carla keeping a close eye on Rob, he tells Tracy that she'll have to do the legwork in flogging the silk. As he draws up a list of factories a safe distance away, will Tracy agree or is she starting to fear that Rob is just using her?
Tuesday
Gary has spent the night at the hospital, but Izzy still won't let him see his son. In the special care unit, Izzy and Tina are by the baby's side. Tina urges Izzy to speak to Gary, claiming that she carried this baby for a couple who love each other. Izzy agrees to talk to Gary but as he begs for another chance, claiming that he made a mistake which he regrets, can Izzy forgive?
At the same time, Tommy comforts an emotional Tina, with his re-emerging feelings for her clear.
Meanwhile, in a bid to source more silk, Michelle stumbles on a supplier who claims to have been offered the material Carla had stolen. Taking down the number of the seller, it's with a sense of foreboding that Carla dials the digits. Is she about to discover Rob's betrayal?
Elsewhere, after a row with Owen and Izzy, Katy moves into Ryan's. Michelle is shocked but is forced to agree as Chesney feigns apathy. When Sinead meets Ches for a drink, where they agree to take things slowly, she worries that he's more bothered than he's letting on.
Also today, Stella insists to Dev that she and Karl are there for him. As she arranges to have dinner together on Friday, a guilty Karl squirms.
Finally, egged on by Sophie and Jenna, Sally joins a dating website.
Thursday
As Tina watches over the baby, Tommy is concerned about her growing attachment to the child. When a strained Gary then turns up, begging Tina to let him see his son, Tommy gently urges to Tina to take a step back.
As Gary approaches the incubator, he's very much the doting dad, urging his son to stay strong. But how will Izzy react when she finds Gary at the baby's bedside? And how will Tina respond to their rowing?
Meanwhile, as Tracy and Rob arrange a meeting with a buyer for the stolen silk, Carla gives her brother one last chance to come clean, asking if he has any contacts who could get hold of any silk - no questions asked. Will Rob have a change of heart, or will Carla's worst fears be confirmed?
Elsewhere, Sally gets a text from a man through the dating agency asking her to meet for a drink. Will she agree?
Also today, Chesney refuses to babysit Joseph for Katy so that she can go for a night out on the town with Ryan.
Friday
With Tina's words ringing in her ears, Izzy agrees to grant Gary access to the baby, but will she accept his apologies and agree to them getting back together?
At the same time, worried about Tina's growing feelings for the baby, Tommy insists that she doesn't have to go through this alone - he loves her, always has and always will. How will a stunned Tina respond?
Meanwhile, as Carla catches Rob with the stolen silk, she demands to know why he ripped her off. Rob is defiant as he insists that he was looking after number one, as Carla has done all their lives. Gutted by his betrayal, will Carla call the police or has she got another plan to punish Rob?
Elsewhere, over dinner with Stella and Karl, Dev is upset as the kids refuse to accept that Sunita was a criminal. Moved by their faith in their mum, Dev starts to wonder if Sunita really was capable of murder. Karl squirms as Dev vows to push the police for answers.
Also today, Ches has a change of heart and agrees to look after Joseph. But when a tired Katy insists that she and Ryan come home early, Michelle wonders how long their relationship will last.
If Dev can get Mary on board to put pressure on Karl, a team effort from them both, should reveal Karls' lies. Mary can be very formidable.
Coronation Street's Windass and Armstrong families find themselves at breaking point this evening (May 27) after Gary and Izzy's baby son arrives early.
Tonight's episode sees the couple's surrogate mother Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) give birth two months prematurely, and the new arrival is immediately whisked off to a special care unit as he is having difficulty breathing.
As everyone anxiously waits for news on the youngster's wellbeing, the revelation that Gary (Mikey North) recently made a pass at Tina is the hot topic of discussion.
With Izzy (Cherylee Houston) unable to forgive Gary for what he's done, she rejects his attempts to support her through this difficult time.
Izzy is also disgusted with Katy for failing to tell her what was going on. Can life ever get back to normal for these two troubled families?
