Meanwhile, Coronation Street has more tension lined up for the Armstrong family as Owen disapproves of his daughter Katy's new romance with Ryan Connor.

Owen (Ian Puleston-Davies) can see that Ryan (Sol Heras) is a bad influence on Katy when she starts ignoring her duties as a mother in favour of spending time with her boyfriend.

Katy (Georgia May Foote) gets fed up with all the aggro from Owen and warns him to back off, but when the situation fails to improve, the two men end up squaring up to each other in the street.

Monday

Mindful of the recent upheaval in their family, Izzy proposes a meal at hers to heal rifts. Throwing himself into his relationship, Gary promises to help.

Later, however, Tina demands that Gary meets her at the yard, where she has a go at him for tackling Tommy and arousing suspicion with Rita. Gary is then horrified to see that Ryan has walked in on their row. What has Ryan heard?

Meanwhile, Peter and Rob are like a pair of rutting stags at the bookies. Fed up, Rob slips into the back for a bit of afternoon delight with Tracy, who's put out by Carla's demands that she step in as delivery driver while Kirk is off sick. However, when their absence allows the coffee machine to leak all over the floor, how will Peter react?

Elsewhere, Hayley attempts to get Roy to acknowledge his bereavement, but he steadfastly ignores her. However, when Sylvia insists they visit St. John's grave together, will Roy agree?

Also, Stella plans a Bank Holiday Monday re-launch for the pub, and she thanks Karl for his support.

Finally, Chesney decides that it's time to shed his Mr Nice Guy image.

As the group gather at Izzy's, she is determined to put all the family stresses behind them. However, Gary is on edge, as he is unsure of what Ryan now knows about him and Tina.

As soon as Gary gets a chance, he pulls Ryan aside and tells him to forget whatever he heard. Under pressure, Ryan admits to Katy that he heard something about a kiss. Horrified, will Katy blow Gary's secret?

Meanwhile, Peter has had enough of Rob and tells Carla that he can't work with him any longer. Left with little choice, Carla tells Rob he'll that be returning to the factory. However, a bitter Rob is fed up with being treated like an underling, not a sibling! Egged on by Tracy, what will he do?

Elsewhere, finding St. John's headstone, Sylvia, Hayley and Roy pay their respects.

Also, Karl snaps at Gloria for interfering with the pub's rebuild, claiming that he wants everything to be just right for Stella.

Finally, Chesney starts pumping weights as he makes plans to bag himself another woman. But is it more to do with his insecurities over Ryan?

Wednesday

Rob resents the fact that he is going back to work for Carla. Fuelling his fire, Tracy reminds him that he owns 30% of Underworld and should be Carla's equal.

Taking this on board, Rob walks into a big client meeting, but when newly-appointed assistant manager Michelle tells him to leave them to it, will Carla back Rob or Michelle?

Meanwhile, Tina tells Tommy that she is terrified of Izzy finding out about Gary's pass, as it'll destroy the couple she's having this baby for. At the same time, Katy is in turmoil over what to do, but when Tina begs her not to ruin Izzy's happiness due to a moment of madness on Gary's part, will Katy agree?

Elsewhere, Roy throws himself into work, refusing to acknowledge his upset at St. John's death.

Also today, as Stella plans a low-key reopening of the pub, her heart aches for a struggling Dev. Consumed by guilt, how will Karl respond?

Finally, when Sinead bumps into Chesney on the street, she plucks up the courage to ask him on a date. Chesney accepts but is oddly blasé, leaving Sinead puzzled.

Friday

Carla feels guilty about only offering Rob the role of Head of Distribution. However, when Rob breezes in and accepts, she is thrown by his humility.

Tracy knows it's a front and when Carla asks her to pick up an expensive order of silk, Rob reveals his plan to hit Carla where it hurts. As he organises for the silk to be 'stolen' from Tracy's van, will she agree to be part of his scam?

Meanwhile, exhausted at firefighting on behalf of Gary, Tina tells Tommy that she's had enough of being suffocated by the Windasses and is going to reclaim her life, starting with packing her job in at the builder's yard.

Elsewhere, after going clothes shopping, a new-look Chesney meets Sinead in the Bistro. Sinead is clearly smitten, but is puzzled by a nonchalant Ches's behaviour.

Also, Karl tries to bury his guilt as he hears that Dev is struggling to cope with the kids. Aadi has been in trouble at school, so Peter advises Dev to get the twins to talk about their feelings rather than bottle them up.

Rob comforts an upset Tracy as she explains how two men threatened her and stole the van containing the silk. Michelle is sceptical as Carla prays that the £20,000 silk theft had nothing to do with Rob.

Later, Tracy puts on her best act as she talks to the police. Will they buy it, or will Carla uncover her brother's betrayal?

Meanwhile, as Owen questions Tina over her decision to leave her job at the yard for extra shifts at The Rovers, a tired Tina has clearly had enough of interference from the family. Sensing that Tina is on edge, Rita asks what's going on. Will Tina confide her fears in Rita?

Elsewhere, Chesney and Sinead are getting on well, but when Ryan and Katy enter the Bistro, his mood changes. Chesney invites Sinead back to Number 5 so they can make a night of it, but Sinead is nervous. Worried he's just trying to make Katy jealous, will Sinead agree?

Finally, as Dev struggles with the kids, a guilty Karl tries to convince himself that Dev will be okay in time.

Corrie's Roy Cropper is finally convinced to pay his respects to his late father St. John in tonight's double bill (May 20).

Roy (David Neilson) is keen to pretend that everything is fine after learning of St. John's death, but he isn't fooling those closest to him.

Keen for Roy to stop bottling everything up, Sylvia (Stephanie Cole) announces that she has decided to visit St. John's grave and wants Roy and Hayley to come with her.

Both agree to join Sylvia, but will the emotional trip have the desired effect on troubled Roy?

The Rovers now seems to be the shortest building project in history. Previously Owen & Co worked on it for a month or more I think, and it didn't look anywhere near finished. Now it'll suddenly be ready to open next week.

Wow, Karl must be an invaluable asset to the company

Looking forward to the Roy scenes.

Coronation Street star Alison King has revealed that her character Carla Connor will be left furious when she discovers her brother Rob Donovan has scammed her.

This week's episodes see Rob steal £20,000 worth of silk from the Underworld boss after he gets fed up with her lack of respect for him.

Carla with Tracy and Rob in Corrie

Rob has teamed up with his scheming girlfriend Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) to pull off the scam, pretending that the expensive material was stolen when Tracy was doing a delivery job for the factory.

However, the situation comes to a head when Michelle stumbles on a supplier who claims to have been offered the material Carla had stolen. After tracking down the number of the seller, it isn't long before the path is leading back to Rob and Tracy.

King told the Radio Times: "It's so childlike. They argue like cat and dog, going right back to their childhood where their brother-sister fighting is raw and horrid and totally runs on adrenaline.

"Because they're so close, Rob's actions are just the ultimate betrayal and she loses it."

http://i1.cdnds.net/13/21/618x396/soaps-corrie-8138-1.jpg

She added: "This is the last chance he had to be in her life and that's gone now."

King also hinted that Carla will face a turbulent time over the coming months.

"I don't think things are going to run smoothly for her. I think possibly more relationship issues are on the way. But who knows in soapland?"
