Dex will soon suffer another terrifying seizure, after his dad Sid's disapproval becomes too much for him.

When Dex (Charles Cottier), who is currently training to be a nurse, is forced to confess his guilty secret about sleeping with Steph (Zara Michales) on hospital grounds, Sid's reaction devastates him and he ends up having a seizure in front of his father.

Dex has been battling with seizures since suffering a brain injury in the wake of last year's horrific car accident.
Discussing his character's life-threatening incident with TV Week, Cottier said: "Due to the stress over Sid's anger, along with work issues, including facing up to the hospital board, Dex has a seizure whilst arguing with his dad.

"His dad's approval means everything to him, especially since Dex is in the medical profession and looks up to his dad as his mentor. It really tears him up inside."

Cottier also reveals that this latest seizure will cause Dex to re-evaluate what is important in his life.

"Dex hates the fact that he has this problem. It makes him question everything - how can he be a nurse when he could have a seizure at any minute? It's a big scare."

Home and Away's Dex Walker will propose to his girlfriend April Scott in an upcoming storyline.

After reflecting on his recent health troubles, Dex decides it is time to start embracing life and creates a bucket list. One of the things on the list is proposing to April (Rhiannon Fish).

Charles Cottier, who plays Dex, told TV Week: "Dex thinks everything is going great and he thinks it is the right time. April has been there for Dex through everything - the brain injuries, seizures and break-ups.

"Even when Dex got with another woman, April came back to him, so he feels like he needs to show her how committed he is."

However, not everybody will be so happy about Dex's decision, as his family think they are both too young and worry Dex is rushing into it.

Cottier said: "Sid, Sasha and Indi don't approve. Indi especially doesn't like the idea because she went through the whole thing with Romeo - they got married very young and she's just gone through the tragedy of him leaving.

"It didn't work out for her, so she's worried it won't work out for Dex. He doesn't really stop to think about it though.

"He doesn't have any money and he's very young. He's just excited about the whole prospect that those factors don't matter to him. He is driven to make it happen."

Home and Away's Dexter Walker will face a new confidence crisis following his girlfriend April Scott's upcoming health scare.

Last week, it was revealed that April (Rhiannon Fish) will be at the centre of a life-or-death drama when she is bitten by a snake during a romantic date with Dex.

When Dex calls an ambulance and it fails to arrive, he is forced to drive April to hospital himself - setting aside the horrifying memories of last year's car crash.

As April starts getting the treatment she needs, the situation takes another turn for the worse as she reacts badly to some anti-venom administered by Dex's father Sid. This sends April into anaphylactic shock, before she falls into a coma.

Dex is then left horrified as he learns that the ambulance didn't turn up because he gave out the wrong address in his panicked state, which wasted crucial minutes.

Charles Cottier, who plays Dex, told TV Week: "In Dex's eyes, he stuffed up majorly. He could be paying a heavy price for his mistake. He just hates how it proves he's not fully recovered from his injury, too.

"Things like the seizures, and now this, keep niggling at him and he thinks, 'If my brain was okay, I wouldn't have made that mistake'. It's frustrating."

April's older sister Bianca (Lisa Gormley) doesn't make life any easier when she also blames Dex for messing up.

Cottier added: "That sends him deeper into a slump. He completely understands Bianca's reaction and beats himself up about it. Those precious moments where he was waiting for an ambulance that was never going to show up could mean life or death for April."

Also ahead in Summer Bay, Dexter Walker decides that he wants to propose to his girlfriend April Scott.

Dexter (Charles Cottier) comes up with the surprising plan after reflecting on last year's accident and realising that it's time to start seizing the day.

Coming up with a bucket list, Dex has mixed results to start off with as he struggles to keep up with the pace at Indi's boot camp.

Learning to surf with Indi (Samara Weaving) as his teacher also proves difficult as Dex is far from a natural.

The Walker siblings have a heart-to-heart after the lesson, with Indi admitting that she wouldn't have taken Romeo for granted if she'd known about his illness.

Inspired by this, Dex comes up with the ultimate addition to his bucket list - marrying April! Can a concerned Indi convince him that rushing into marriage isn't a good idea?
